Did anyone just watch Clint Eastwood's speech?

Cuomo couldnt even manage the rebuilding around ground zero/ the freedom towers. how the hell can he run a country. Im skeered man,

Anyone else catch the middle-aged white women carrying the "Hispanics for Romney" posters? I thought it was hilarious

The Romney campaign is already distancing themselves from Clint's speech....that was so terrible, they know it was a disaster

not starting anything just stating what I see and my interactions with Republicans; I am an independent BTW
but I dont want this thread to turn into another religion bashing thread. Yes some churches are like that. others arent.

Let's be real, had that speech been made at the DNC, Democrats would've been enthralled and Republicans would laugh at him. People are so blinded by their political leanings.

I've voted in every election since I turned 18 and I'm leaning towards sitting this one out. I don't believe in either candidate and I voted for Obama in 08, believing in his many empty promises in part because we needed someone other than George W. You can call me what you want but I don't believe McCain would've had us in better shape either plus you can't tell me choosing Sarah Palin was anything but a desperate attempt to sway voters.

These candidates don't have the best interest of the majority in mind, they just want power by any means necessary, even if it includes putting a movie star with no redeeming value on stage to make some rah rah speech.

That's almost like going to a bad movie or comedy show with a lame comedian and laughing because everyone else is laughing.  When you're there live, it doesn't come across as bad as it does on TV and you can be swayed by the audience you're in.  I'm pretty sure there were republicans at home going "what the ****, that was awful".  It's just human nature to be swayed when people around you are reacting a certain way.

You don't think there would've been the same cheering and chanting, "Say 'Go ahead, make my day!!!'" type response? Quit lying, these people, regardless of party, eat up whatever you put in front of them.

You're talking just about the people at the convention? Yeah, they would probably chuckle. I guess. Maybe

Idk though I could never see that Dems letting something like that go on at their convention.

Did you watch the whole speech though?

Clint's speech was a disaster. Homie just woke up from his nap and threw out the speech they gave him. This dude was talking to an empty seat. **** wild man.

True story. These days, whatever party people are aligned to could do no wrong in their eyes. It's not about what America can do anymore. It's more about who's party is superior. :smh:

Straight up, they could have had a holographic imqge of spongebob up there speaking, as long as he's says something negative about obama, points out that he "didnt keep his promises", mentions how bad the country is doing and say we need new leadership, all the puppets in the crowd will be hyaterical and cheer at every pause and slightly inflected point.

Thats one of the reasons that I cant keep up with politics. I never use this term, but politicians are so fake to me.

The RNC was going have a hologram of Ronald Reagan, but they canned because they thought it would upstage Romney.

Why respond if you didn't read what I wrote...I said if it happened at the DNC. And if you're asking about Eastwood's speech, yes I watched it all. All of the speeches at the RNC? Hell no.

You think Democrats would've sat there and stonefaced him? No, the reaction would've been the same if he was pro-Democrat. I'm not even a Republican, I voted for Obama in 08, but it's easy to see that the purpose of these Presidential races are no longer (I can't speak about whether they were any better "back in the day") about truly addressing the issues and wanting to correct what's wrong but about trying to sway or strengthen someone's political beliefs as they see it in that candidate.

If it takes incoherent rambling from a Hollywood icon, a bunch of "Dontchaknows" from an attractive woman from Alaska or a mantra of empty promises of "Change", "Yes, We Can" or..."We'll withdraw the troops", they'll do whatever it takes to make people believe what they're seeing is real.
