FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

from my trip to NY. probably the only food pic I snagged. Katz deli pastrami on rye. Pastrami was so soft and tender, huge slices compared to anywhere else. My girl went down the street for Russ and Daughters lox and bagel, thanks for whoever gave that tip.

And on Monday. Waterbar SF happy hour oysters. We had 60 total after our meal was done. Could only order 24 at a time and our second batch of 24 were some really sweet oysters, forgot where the waiter said they were from though.

I'm West Indian and I think you said it backwards. Your supposed to say you made curry chicken. But hey whatever..**** looks tasty as fuh!!!

I made chicken tom yum, sans the mushrooms. And I added spinach. My parents are snobs when it comes to non-Filipino cuisine so I told them it's sinigang so they'll eat it.

at least tom yum and sinigang taste similar.
Sounds just like my in-laws.

MPLS, you a chef?
I'm a line cook. We don't have anyone who is "chef" though. We all control the menu and specials. The owner is the chef technically. He doesn't like to be called that. He works a station just like us.
