THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

I think Hatch is out. Sounds like he wants out of Dallas, and even if he gets an offer low enough from another team that Dallas can match he will still probably leave town.

His mistake wasn't plugging and playing he had no choice, his mistake was not brining in more talent and depth via the draft.

Now I love Wilcox but a defensive lineman made so much more sense there I think Wilcox would've been there in the 4th I love the kid he's talented but he's gotta make the jump from D3 to pro football and that's really difficult

I think Hatch gets paid. 11 sacks, never eclipsed 5 or more in his career.

Definitely don't see Hatcher back. Could see Spencer back tho. Either way, this team needs to bring in a couple more Dline guys.

Bro did you read what I posted, or did you respond to what you thought I posted?
Because your response is identical to what I posted.

In my mind Hatch and Spence are gone already. With the first pick do you go with a DT in the first round or best available defensive player?

Unless there is a safety we just cant pass on i think D-line is a must. We get Bass and Crawford back next year also so that should help also

I think they need to get a DT with either pick one or two. As long as they do that, I don't care if they go BPA. Mike Evans paired up with Dez and Terrance Williams for a decade :x But at least 4 picks need to be on defense.

This whole Romo situation has me slightly nervous. Not liking what I am hearing in regards to his back.

But I agree. D-line, D-Line, D-Line. Let's see what Grandpa Kiffin can do with a draft under his belt.

Hearing whispers that we may go after good ole Norval. I wouldn't mind him back in Dallas as Garrett looks at him as a "father figure" in terms of offensive guidance. I'm sure Garrett wouldn't have any problems with letting Norv run the offense considering the huge amount of respect he has for him.

Kiffin's biggest mistake was thinking he could plug and play with the d-line.
It showed how good Kiffin and Marinelli are as teachers, but left us vulnerable as soon as the injury bug hit the team.

yeah I read it and the way you said it sounds like you said his mistake was thinking he could plug in whoever and get results, I don't see anywhere talking about adding talent in that post, unless you said that earlier in another post my bad but its not in the one I quoted

as for the draft, yeah DL trumps everything else, S is still a need we have to get a natural FS if Ha Ha is there I'd take him in a heartbeat, as for the LB sad but that is another need and it shows you can never have too many look at how thin we got there towards end of the year, I hate to take another high but someone like Shazier could be a beast in a 4-3

Hageman is the DL I like the best so far, Sutton looked great last year but his tape didn't wow me this year, Donald looks like a straight pass rushing beast and I think he is a possibility too and then there are the Notre Dame guys to consider as well

a lot of options for us

You dont think LB is more of a priority over S. With DT/DE over both of those?

LB is a problem for sure also. I just cant take seeing Heath back there for another year :smh: and i havent seen enough from Wilcox to buy into him yet. I just want a legit ballhawk back there. I dont think Lee will ever play all 16 so im with you LB is an issue too.

anybody but Callahan is fine, I wanted to hire Turner last year and some thought that was dumb but I like what he would bring to our offense

I agree, I am nervous about Romo two back surgeries 33? not good, people will trash me for saying this but if Manzel is there I would take him, we need to get a QB ready behind Romo because if we lose him this team won't survive, it could be another Aikman situation so get a young guy in that is talented and start grooming him

I wanted Norv to come in here after he lost his HC job. Always thought he was a better OC than HC. Isnt he someone elses OC these days? I think he could do well with this offense and add that extra wrinkle /depth to it.

he's in Cleveland I think and he's doing a pretty good job

Reports are he won't stay in Cleveland since their HC just got fired. The new HC is going to want to bring in his own staff most likely.

Norv would be great because we have a legitimate running back that can carry the load.
Not sure if I posted this before, but a friend of mine said imagine DeMarco Murray in Carolina with Cam.
That offense would be nearly unstoppable.

As much as I back Romo, I agree with Manziel. If he is there, I would take him. Just off the fact that I like his swag and I feel like him and Dez's combined swag would be fun to watch

bro I would be so happy if we got Manzel

How likely is this? Didn't Jerry make the move for Callahan and strip Jason of playcalling? I'd be on board though.

Johnny Football would run Garrett out of town, or Garrett would run Johnny Football out of town.
They couldn't coexist on the same sideline.
Johnny's dad would be criticizing the play calling to the media
It would be a primetime drama, and Jerry would love every minute of it.

I just think Manzel would be a good pick for us football wise, now drama would be a problem totally agree lol
