THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

I just don't see the need for a receiver early. Dez and Terrance start. Dwayne or Beasley in the slot. That's fine. I'd rather draft a RB like Sankey or Mason than a receiver.

Also 6 picks in the 7th, makes any other offensive side players unnecessary. Hope someone was looking at the skill positions in later rounds.

Next two round have to be on defense.

I'll give my idea when I finish applying to this job.

11 Players to watch.

2nd Round -
1. Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State
2. Kareem Martin, DE, North Carolina
3. Ra'Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota
4. Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
5. Demarcus Lawrence, DE, Boise State
6. Telvin Smith, OLB, FSU
7. Brock Vereen, SS, Minnesota
8. Trent Murphy, OLB, Stanford
9. Justin Ellis, DT, LSU
10. Caraun Reid, DT, Princeton
11. Craig Loston, SS, LSU

If we end up with a guy from 1-4, and someone from 5-11 then we had a highly successful Day 2.

My dream is Jernigan Round 2, Martin Round 3.

Guys to watch in round 2

1. Jace Amaro

2. Troy Niklas

Dallas forms the first ever super TE group

seriously IDK what direction they are going next, wouldn't suprise me to see them double down on OL here

if they don't get Ealy, Lawrence is an ok pick but I am not sure how high his ceiling is, he may never be more than a 7-8 sack guy

I really want Jernigan or Ealy or a WR there

I want Jernigan, Ealy, or Hageman...

If Su'a-Filo, Gabe Jackson or Bitonio fall, I wouldn't be mad about that.

Cowboys brass working phones as 1st RD ended last night. Look for trade UP in 2nd to get Ware replacement at DE. #allaboutdefensenow #dfwsp

If they do, it will be Lawrence..

Although Ealy is very DWare-esque.. I think Lawrence is the only guy they are looking for.

If they draft a TE at 47, I am done with the Cowboys, I really don't think they will but if they do I am done.

As for all this depth, I think last year's 2nd round was better

"Jerry Trolled Everyone!" - How Rival Fans Reacted To Cowboys Picking Zack Martin

On May 8, 2014 at 9:53 PM EDT, the Dallas Cowboys selected offensive lineman Zack Martin with the 16th pick of the 2014 NFL draft. Before we start preparing for more draft action tonight, here's your chance to relive that moment through the comments of other SB Nation readers as they react to the pick. The quotes are taken from each teams' respective SB Nation site, and are only edited for language. Enjoy.

Highly entertaining timeline of other teams fans reactions to the lead up where it looked like Manziel, and ended up being Martin.

And leaves me even more convinced that Martin was a great pick.

^^When Dallas was on the clock it was the highest TV rating of the draft.

It was like watching a series finale of a show...

The media loves sucking off the cowboys huh its getting kinda old dont ya think
This is coming from a Lakers fans? Cmon now.   Love em or hatem, the Cowboys, Lakers, and Yankees get the highest interest in their respective sports.

Just look at week 1 of the NFL. Everyone just assumed the Seahawks would play the 49ers in their 1st game. But FOX knows a 49ers-Cowboys game would get a bigger draw.

You talking to one right ima fan of the boys so i deal with that on a daily basis i still dont get why they didnt go DEF in the 1st rd im soooo heated at that pick, no matter the protection of romo if you cant play def same **** different day its the end result did you Win the game.

DE & DTs there would have been a reach.
They didn't like Clinton-Dix or Pryor and a few good one's in 3rd/4th.
Barr was the only one they liked for OLB. Some good one's in the 3rd / 4th.

Was a solid pick.

This pick better be worth it for giving up a 3rd rounder...

Right now I give the pick a conditional C grade. Only because we traded a 3rd for him. Had it been a 2nd & 4th, I'd give it a better grade.

If we get back into the 2nd or 3rd Round, I'll raise the grade to probably a B-/C+

They need to get that pick back

They are still in the war room, so maybe they plan on getting back into the third, but there is no one on the phones

Ok, now, I hate to beat a dead horse, and I absolutely love Fredbeard, but

...

Anyone else infuriated that teams have been able to get the same exact thing we did (a third) for SIGNIFICANTLY less valuable picks than the one we gave up to San Francisco last year? We just gave up a third to move 14 spots in the second. And all we could get last year dropping 15 spots in the first was a third :smh: :smh: :smh: :smh: :smh: :smh: :smh: :smh: :smh:

You're right. They wanted Lawrence, and there was like 4-5 teams ahead of them that would have definitely snatched him before 47. I dont know why they keep getting dicked when getting value for their picks though, especially if they were on the phone all day.
