THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

The Playmaker is doing play by play for our local station showing the game.
He said Dez is more of a physical talent than he was, but to be better he needs to go to four super bowls.
He also said he likes that Dez is wearing his number 88, and Dez is becoming a leader on this team.

Seems that way probably still top 5 of his possition all time but had the neck never given him problems he's likely #1

Are you in the A's thread also?

chiacrack chiacrack what do you see with z minter right now it seems mostly hype but when he was facing the 2's and 3's it was domination
The question with Ware all-time is longevity. Is 7 dominant seasons enough in the court of public opinion?

I lurk in the A's thread. Been a big fan of Sonny Gray. Admire Oakland's business model.

Listening to Michael Irvin and Babe Laufenberg interview Dez.
Dez said he told Patmon before the game he better get an interception tonight, and he did.
McClain just made a nice play.

This defense is definitely faster than it was last year.
And that's the foundation of a good Tampa 2 defense.

Not sure if yall watched the 49ers-Chargers game Sunday, but the 49ers offense looks pathetic.
They have no speed at receiver, and Kaepernick is as inaccurate as ever.
Stop their run, don't let their defense create turnovers, win the special teams battle and we start the season 1-0.

New Dez contract will be tabled before Week 1. Like his approach to nip it quickly and not allow distraction. Boy needs that money the way he spends.

We have the goods on offense.

Great line. Good QB. Good RB. Good WRs. Good TE.

Just pray Tony & DeMarco stay healthy. And run the damn ball.

Defense on the other hand. *Scratches head* Carr & Mo going to have to put in work.

I see a lot of Cowboys fans sleeping on the 49ers. I still think they are a better football team, guess we'll find out in a few weeks.

Yes we will and I can't wait.
Dude at my job is a 49ers fan and thinks he knows everything that's wrong with the Cowboys.
So I decided to watch his team and I liked what I saw.
Horrible offense and an overly aggressive defense.
Our play action pass game and screen game should flourish on September 7 :smokin

we'll see

on paper our OL has improved to match their physicality but I still think they're defense is better than what Cowboys fans think

our defense is so bad idk, Kap could just run around have a big game, also we don't have enough cover guys to cover all of their weapons

Didn't see any "weapons".
I see a bunch of prima donnas that think they are just going to roll up on Sunday and the other team is going to just lay down.

The 9ers have the pedigree as of late, so I'm not taking them lightly.

Even with their missing pieces(Aldon/bowman) I still think they're the better team, with the faaaaar better coach.

However, I do think we match up well with them. And I also think were gonna put up points, even with their vaunted defense.

Force Kap to beat us with his arm, and control the clock with the run. We have a GREAT chance to win.

Easier said than done, I know. Unlike the rest of the world, I won't be surprised if/when Dallas wins.

at least you respect them and what they have, some of these fans act like we're playing the Jags or something

should be a good game at least

In the past, the 49ers do seem to always show up when it truly counts... but typically it was due to them always having that wild card of Kaep in addition to the ill defense and a killer run game. Their run game isn't what it once was, Kaep is no longer some new breed alien that nobody has enough time to create a solid game plan around, and at the end of the day they have nobody that can slow Dez.

Dez Gawd... 6 catches 112 yards 1 TD in a 20-17 win.

Dez knows daddy needs those fantasy points again this year, career year for Dez, he always shows up for daddy's team. Ruins the way I watch games though, I find myself yelling at Romo when he doesn't throw the ball to 88.

Did you get him again this year?

No weapons?  Boldin, Crabtree, Vernon Davis, Stevie Johnson......those aren't weapons?  Each one of them would easily be the #2 weapon on the Cowboys.  Johnson is debatable, but not that far fetched.

I don't see how you can say that they think they are just going to roll up on Sunday and the Cowboys are going to lay down.  PLayers have already been quoted saying how week 1 is going to be a challenge.  I can dig them up if you'd like.

I dont really disagree with this apart from one thing I would like you to clarify.  "Their run game isnt what it once was."  Could you expand and elaborate on this?  Gore had over 1100 rushing  yards and 9 touchdowns last season.  If he tails off a bit, which could happen, our #2 running back is someone who is widely considered the best rookie running back in the NFL.  So to assume that our running game isnt what it once was is kind of silly IMO.  To your point about Kap, yes he can be game planned for now.  But does your team have the necessary talent on defense to carry out said game plan?  Time will tell.

I look forward to a good game regardless.

draft is this Sunday, I pick 3rd overall, but have secured a trade up in the 2nd round, I give up my 18th overall pick and Percy Harvin (my keeper) for the 14th overall pick IF Dez is there

Dez only plays well for me, I remember in 2012 I traded for him, then he went on a tear

As a sports better, I watched a lot of 49ers games towards the end of the year as I had pretty good gauge on them as a whole, so I liked to bet their games. The last 5 games of the season their run-game was largely reliant on Kaep popping a gimmicky/broken play big run more than a consistent ground-n-pound game that you couldn't stop even with 8 men constantly in the box.... was this because teams were selling out on making CK7 beating them with his arm, injuries, etc.? I'm not a 100% sure but I felt like they definitely lost their edge in the run game that I used to think was virtually impossible to stop at certain points these last two years and to state it nicely, they didn't have a passing game to fall back on either.

To answer your last question, do we have the talent? Yes, because they're NFL players and have made it to this level they're competent enough to slow down a 49ers offense that's far from a juggernaut just enough to let our offense cook, which is all we need to get that dubya.

dland24 dland24 they are "weapons" but they aren't "explosives".
You can fire them but they aren't guaranteed to hit the target.
We have explosives on our offense.
They don't need to be aimed at a target, just detonated.
Dez is a ticking time bomb, waiting to blow up the opposing teams secondary.
Cowboys 23 - 49ers 20
