THE OFFICIAL 2016 DALLAS COWBOYS SEASON THREAD | 11-1: Next Game 12/11 @ Giants Vol. Sunday Night Football - Page 34

Did anyone ever ask Monte Ball or Russell Wilson what they thought about Travis Frederick?
He blocked for both of those guys at Wisconsin.

Yall seen the schedule? If Dallas can beat the teams they're supposed to and the Broncos it's not out of the realm of possibility that we start off 5-0, 8-0 if they can beat the Skins at home and Eagles/Lions on the road laugh.gif both very possible nerd.gif

Home VS NYG 1-0

Away at KC 2-0

Home vs SL 3-0

Away vs SD 4-0

Home vs Broncos (sans their pass rush, no Von Miller nerd.gif) 5-0

Home vs Washington 6-0

Away vs Philly 7-0

Away vs Lions 8-0

Home vs Vikings 8-1

Granted I can see things going down hill after that in typical Cowboys fashion mean.gif

Away at NO 8-2

Away at Giants 8-3

Home vs Raiders 9-3

Away at Chicago 9-4

Home vs GB 9-5

Away at Was 9-6

Home vs Philly 10-6

nerd.gifnerd.gifnerd.gifnerd.gifnerd.gifnerd.gifnerd.gifnerd.gifnerd.gif

Could possibly only have two wins in those final 7 games mean.gif

Still could be good enough to win the division

We have to sweep someone and split everyone else at least.

Only two more wins than last year, if everyone stays healthy that's basically adding Sean Lee/Jay Ratliff another 10 games, Barry Church 14, Bruce Carter 8, Demarco Murray 6,Anthony Spencer 3 and a healthy D Ware for 8 more games.

Not to mention an easier schedule and adding an elite Dez Bryant another 8 games. Plus the progression of Mo/Carter/Smith etc. Those factors can result in two more wins
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Why am I getting my hopes up laugh.giflaugh.gif

Your predictions didn't take into account Romo plays lights out in November.
So there's a good chance we will have two or maybe even three more wins.
Also, offensive coordinators are going to have a hard time with our defense because of the athleticism of our linebackers.
Double team D Ware and Sean Lee is going to wreak havoc.
Bruce Carter doesn't miss tackles and the d-line has looked good this preseason.

I'm trying to be pessimistic while being optimistic laugh.gif

Honestly I think they'll get two wins from playing Chicago, Nola, Green Bay and Minnesota. Probably will lose one to SD, SL and Detroit.

But I'm confident in my earlier predictions.
I hate to look at the schedule more than 4 weeks at a time, damn sure don't like doing so in the preseason. With that said... Cowboy Nation, barring injuries to one of our top 5 players, we will be in the super bowl.

It's not going to be easy, it won't be a smooth ride, but we will get there.
^^^^^ I'm not that confident laugh.gif

If everyone stays healthy and the line keeps playing the way it had been I do think they're in the divisional playoffs at least. Don't know why people act like the DLine will be a problem. Since when does a unit consisting of Ware, Spencer and Ratliff plus Hatcher be considered a problem
post #997 of 9565
Without writing a novel I'll just say...

As most people know in here, I'm not even a Romo fan... but in the past this team has gone and as far as he could take them.
This will not 100% be the case this year, with the new scheme, our defense will be top 10.
There will be a few games this year they will be dominate and lead us to victory, when Romo isn't forced into Lebron in Cleveland mode early and often he's the goods. pimp.gif

This is our year to stay healthy.
No way we have as many significant injuries this season.
Having Barry Church back is HUGE!
Will Allen is a nice addition to the secondary.

Jerry the GM has been putting in work.
Got his stadium filled every week of the year.
Won the rights to host the first NCAA Championship game.
Starting this year all the high school football state title games will be played in the stadium.
AT&T is paying $25mill a year for the naming rights to the stadium.
He's moving the team facilities from Valley Ranch to Frisco in 2016.
Not to mention he has put together a pretty decent squad this year, with a nice mix of veterans and young players.

Hope y'all are right. Whenever Dallas wins a Super Bowl I'm probably going to lose every friend I have that's not a Boys fan laugh.gif
post #1001 of 9565
the end of our schedule scares me nerd.gif however, im glad we finally have a late bye for once... that could end up being clutch.

the front end of our schedule really works in our favor... we could get off to a GREAT start. in the past, we've messed up taking game we were supposed to win though. i have a lot of confidence in the team going into this year though, so im expecting good things.

6 year 42 million$ extension for Sean Lee smokin.gif
post #1003 of 9565
5 years $30 million seems more reasonable, but it's Jerry's money and he has plenty of it.
If Lee stays healthy he will earn every penny of that contract.
He's worth way more than that. The contract is incentive based with him getting more money if he plays 80% of snaps on D. He's getting around 12 million less guaranteed money than Wills/Bowman and he graded out as the best MLB by far on PFF last year before he got hurt. Also have to remeber that its universally accepted that the Switch to Tampa 2 will take advantage of his skillset more than Rob Ryans D did. This could be a bargain if he stays healthy. And I really think he will.

In lee's contract there is a Injury insurance policy in there.

Smart move by the staff for the deal.

I love the youth we have on this team. Esp. On the defensive side. Oldest we have is Will Allen, but his age won't slow us down and he's very experienced and brings the tempo and leadership to the defense. I see this team getting its swagger back this year.

Dez is so much like Michael Irvin football wise, his confidence is effecting the team in a positive way.
Last week Will Allen told reporters Miles Austin needed to stop being so soft, and that they could tell Miles he said it.
I think the hit Miles put on that DB was him showing he could be physical.
well deserved for sean lee smokin.gif

just hoping he can stay healthy nerd.gif
The team held its Blue and Silver debut today.
It's an open practice at the stadium, free to the public and just $10 to park.
Dress rehearsal tonight. These games have been a pretty good indicator of how the season would turn out the last three years. If we can pull off a nice win w/o 3 of our top 6 defenders I'll start to get really excited. Schedule really favors us this season.

49ers fan told me the preseason doesn't matter.
Dudes living in a dream world.
His teams starting QB hasn't played a full season, let alone start a full season, and he doesn't think the preseason matters.
BW Webb looking like a young Asante Samuel.
Miles runs the best comeback of any receiver in the league.
Dallas draft picks have 4 picks this preseason, Travis Frederick has only given up one pressure. smokin.gif

Dez has 13 catches, 184 yards and a TD in less than 3 and a half quarters of game time.

Only saw highlights on the game. If Austin can stay healthy he can be a difference maker. Glad Jerry didn't cut him this season.

Our O-line is still struggling with getting a push in the running game. That right side with Free and Parnell was getting beat up yesterday. Gotta get that together.

If Miles can stay healthy we should be dangerous. I just want Dez, Miles, and Witten full healthy for one season thats all.

I read a little factoid the starting Dallas Defense hasn't allowed a TD this preseason... nthat.gif

0 TO's last night coming off of that sloppy AZ game... romo leading the offense into the end zone (twice at that) for the first time this preseason too. should be a good way to end the preseason (for the starters who probably won't play next game). smokin.gif

and against a pretty solid defense to add that.

Cinci was the Toughest Defense we played.  compared to OAK, Miami, AZ.

Im still skeptical about this defense. Webb made some good plays but I hate how far off he plays in that trail technique. He needs to tighten it up. If this line doesnt get to the qb and finish plays, this bend but dont break cover 2 **** wont work if you are missing tackles and not getting those sacks and turnovers. I can see some absolutely dreadful games where tons of yards are racked up from missed tackles and td's are scored instead of fg's when plays arent finished at the qb. BUT they have been looking promising this preseason so its something to think about.
