THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

Sean Lee's season. His coming out party. He was rudely interrupted last season with his injury.

Can't wait to see what Will Allen will bring to the Safety position.

I'm always excited about the season.. Up until week 5 then I battle depression

So glad Moore didn't sign and then be a liability to the offense.
I see this as a positive. We don't need any dead weight, especially on the O-line.

Yeah if he's not fully committed then I agree. Moore was one of the best the jets had on their O-line it sucked losing him

Dez runnin over boys and knockin helmets off this year
he did mike jenkins in a few times..

i was pleased with what i saw from the starters..bernadau was stinking it up..but other than him literally everyone else clicked..

i think this D is gonna look nice when spencer, rat, claiborne come back..already liking what im seeing besides the safety play..

still waiting to see the infamous terrance williams in action...

I don't see anyone in the NFC East that can handle our offense.
The new defense is perfect for our players talent level.
If we limit our offensive turnovers, and our defense is creating turnovers, we're going to put a lot of points on the board.
Jerry said it last year, "I want some more glory hole."

 Huh...Jerry wants more what??...

  ...Yo...

That being said my main concern is still with the DL. Granted that we stay healthy, are these young no names gonna be able to get a pass rush and stop the run come weeks 11 and 12? Are they mentally able to hold up? I guess we will find out but that is where it will start and end for this defense this year is in the trenches. The added depth, youth, and skill have done the back half of the D well. Another year together, another training camp together will help the Oline be noticably better come mid-season I think, but I'm not against another Oline pick up somewhere along the line.

Like someone said above, the kool-aid does taste different this year. its the decisions Garrett is making in the offseason through the draft and adding depth and youth to this team. Win, lose, or draw this season I believe he should stay on as head coach. You need continuity and stability, and you can't have that when your changing coaches every 3 years.

The defensive line is going to suck. Just no depth whatsoever. If any one of the first 4 get hurt, or Wre/Spencer are anything less than completely dominant, we're going to have serious issues.

Lee and Carter are going to be awesome in this defense, though.

I thought about something this morning.
If Monte Kiffin was hired as Defensive Coordinator for the Packers or the Patriots, everyone would say Kiffin is the "Obe One Konobe" of defensive coordinators.
But because it's America's team it's labeled a "questionable hire".
This dude created a defense and won a Super Bowl with it, and now he has the best pass rusher in the league!
Kiffins defense has never been the problem.
It was always the offensive side of the ball that made his defense look bad.
And our offense will be much better this year.
Get ready for an action packed season fellas!
It's that Dallas bias. Obviously I expect it but it's annoying when the media drives home these false themes and then the average NFL fan runs with it. Kiffen said this was the most talented D he's ever coached, but because he's with the Cowboys all of a sudden what he did with some average college recruits at USC is more relevant than the ten plus years he coached in the NFL. And people ignore Marenelli. Anyone who watched Chicago knows that a big part of the success they had forcing turnovers was because of the techniques Marinelli taught. And EVERYONE, fans, media alike talked about how bad Garret was at play calling and how he needed to be a walk-around coach. The Cowboys do that and now Jerry Jones is trying to undermine Garrett

But like i aaid I expect it. People will hate on the Cowboys no matter what they do. People on Twitter a couple days ago were talking about how over rated Aikman was because he didn't produce monster stats. Yet the very same people bash Romo for not having playoff success / Superbowl wins.
the NFL has a **** load of running QB's now and it was about kiffin in college not being able to stop the zone read at USC and Tennesse and his defense looking trash at both stops. his playing calling on defense was shakey at best and his last year with tampa bay they had a avg defense, with the options they had to hire in the offseason for a DC, kiffin was the worse choice.

So again, people are paying more attention to what he did with average - to below average recruits in college, and in your case "his last year in Tampa" over a decade of success. Chicago ran this defense last year. They had 40+ turnovers and were one of the best defenses overall. Sean Lee, Bruce, Jay Ratliff, Anthony Spencer, Demarcus Ware, Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne are arguably significantly more talented than the pieces Chicago has. Kiffen and Rod both said it's the most talented group of players they've ever coached. The defense will be fine.

You really think he believes this group is more talented than what Kiffin had in Tampa Bay...? LOL OK

I'm not going to pass judgment based on two college stops, especially when both were ****** situations led by his idiot son...

Do I think it was a home run? No way. But was it the worst hire they could have possibly made? Hell no. C'mon Mike.

I don't know what he believes. I only know what he said.

That is why the extra money was spent to bring Marinelli in as well. You would think they'd make a great coaching tandem as before, but if Kiffin cant handle the job, then they will just slide Marinelli into the DC position and still be able to keep some continuity there.

Exactly, honestly I'm more excited for him than Kiffin, and I think Monte was a great hire.

Yall cats are doubting our defense?
4 starters out last year, a one armed D Ware and we were still competitive.
Not to mention back ups getting hurt and having to sign dudes that were at home getting fat watching Martin reruns.
D Ware is 10x better than any player Tampa Bay had back then.
We smashin teams this year, believe that.

im expecting good things from our defense this year... the DL scares me, but overall the new system looks like its going to be a good fit for our guys. im just hoping they can stay healthy this year.

it came down to lovie smith, ray Horton and kiffin. who is the worse hire of the 3?

how good or bad the defense is rest on what spencer and ware do this year. LB core could be great but they become useless if both DT are getting zero pressure and ran over at the line

carr and Mo go from playing man cover there whole careers to ask to be zone coverage man.
