THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

I like Beasley too but Amendola is bigger and he can get the deep ball too, if Beasley ever gets healthy they need to incoporate him into the offense. He is a "space" guy who finds whole in the zones and gaps.

Miles can feel that role. He's good in space.
Amendola wouldn't hold up in the NFC East.
Players always leave our division and thrive elsewhere.

see I think Harris needs more burn, he killed it down the stretch last year, if was the OC I would use him a lot more

Agree with Harris. I really really like Williams but he's not ready. Harris can consistently make something out of nothing. This offense has been missing that for years.

Harris doesn't seem to have a fit in this offense anymore.
Escolar and Williams were already in the scheme week 1.

He got the rock in the redzone Sunday night.
If bruised ribs Romo made a better pass he would have scored.
Think about this five wide: Dez Witten Miles Harris Williams

i'd like to see harris get more looks in the offense... he was a solid player for us last year & i think with dez getting the coverage he has gotten & will continue to get, he can be real productive, i like his game. also, with defenses really focusing on dez, miles austin & jason witten (which is a given since he's always been romo's go to bail out) will win games for us. i think adding harris in that rotation would help big time as well.

big game this week because last year is still so clear when we got destroyed against seattle... even with the injuries still lingering or taking place last game, everyone is reportedly playing so im not too worried about health issues. im confident it won't be a repeat of last year in week 2... this is just a different team.

Harris doesn't need touches as much as Dez needs touches.
Was waiting for him to get the rock and get busy, but it never happened.
Gotta send him in motion away from the coverage, because most teams are probably going to play the same type coverage on him.

honestly I would throw a couple deep balls to Dez, let him go get it, hes great at that, or he def will draw some PI's (which we never do, need to stretch the field take deep shots because pass interference calls are very easy to generate and spot fouls are huge momentum makers)

Dallas has the 7th youngest roster in the NFL. Youngest in the NFC East. Avg age of 25.5 (including Waters) bright future ahead fellas.

That's misleading for me because of Romo, Ware, Witten, Spencer, Ratliff and Hatcher are all older guys and could be considered core players. I think this team is in trouble on the DL, with Ware and Spencer being their ages, plus Hatcher and Ratliff. They need to restock the DL heavily next year, need a young pass rusher to groom behind Ware badly. Don't get wrong, a lot of young guys Dez, Murray, Tyron, Frederick, Carter, Lee, Claiborne to build with.

We can play the "what if" card all day...

What if we kept Amendola....

What if we drafted Moss...

So on and so forth..

Amendola either would of left cause he wanted the money and/or would of conflicted with Dez on #1 spot....

And look at Amendola now.... Just finished week 1, and out for 2-6 weeks... and look at last season, missed a good chunk with STL. I say smart move letting him go, reminds me of Terry Glenn when we had him.

Healthy Miles and Young WR Corps > Than Amendola any day.

This team might not get HYPE like SEA or SF gets... but this team has the potential in the NFC. People stay sleeping on this team, I like that. We're sleepers. Let our wins do the talking...

I agree kind of. Those are essentially the only guys we have that are over 26. Ratliff will be gone soon (hopefully) Spencer will probably be gone next season, possibly Hatcher too.

They've ignored the Dline long enough and I don't see how they do it again the next few drafts.

Romo can play at a high level for at least another 5 years probably. I'm not counting on Witten significantly slowing down in the next 3 years either. Need to find a replacement for Ware and Hatcher. If they can get a stud pass rusher to learn from Ware next year that'd be great. The team has few enough holes that I think they should be able to take some more chances trading up in the draft. And as long as they continue to hit in the draft like they've done since 2010 it'll be no problem.

we can't compete with SF or SEA those teams right now would crush us, we saw what Seattle did to us last year, the rest of the NFC? we can def compete with though

idk why they expected anything from Rat this year, that dude is done here, he doesnt want to be here and is injury prone now, Bennie Logan in the 2nd round would've been a great pick, I wont lie I wanted Lacy or Damontre Moore there, Escobar was a luxury pick imo

I've been done with Ratliff ever since the incident between him and Jerry. Your boss is paying you 8 million dollars and he comes to you saying the team needs you and you blow up in his face :smh: get out of here.

I disagree my dude, we can compete with both of those teams, especially if we're healthy.

Honestly, I hate everything about picking Escobar that high. We didn't need to take a TE in the 2nd round period. I thought Hanna did an excellent job last season. We could've did alot better with this draft. I still feel like we should've got a 2nd rd pick from SF instead of a 3rd when we traded down.

True but i'd hate for him to get cut on principle like that. Whats in everyone's best interest (owner, coaches, players, fans) is that he's out there and contributing and at the very leaat he's a body for our rotation. He was a good player for us in a technique that didn't favor him for a while. Lets see what he can do now at least. Jerrys a big boy. He sees the mutual interest.

don't get me started on that trade down lol

Dats why I mentioned it, I remember our convo after the draft

At the time of the draft we needed the same position on both sides of the ball, an anchor in the middle.
Travis Frederick is an immediate impact player.
Whereas I think Shariff Floyd will take some time to come into his own.
As a matter of fact he recorded no tackles or sacks week 1.
Frederick 1
Floyd 0

We could've gotten Fred in the second, if they REALLY wanted him worst case scenario they move up in the second for him
