THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

I'm not defending the Escobar pick at all, it was questionable. I'm just saying RB is something we should pick up every year, so to use a 2nd might be reaching unless he is Peterson status.

You dude are misdirecting your anger.

Yall's savior Monte Kiffin manned up Calvin Johnson most of the game and that's why he went off. He literally and figuratively fed Brandon Carr to the Lions.

Until the fourth quarter Detroit only had one TD. Even with Megatron going off like crazy the D kept the score low. Defense had 4 turnovers and another turnover on downs. Before yesterday I think teams were like 1-55 when they lost the turnover battle by 4. Can't blame this on Kiffin. Especially when the defense gave the offense the ball at Detroits 40 with only 1:26 left.

Man yall gave up 623 yards.

The defensive only FORCED two turnovers.

The defense had given up almost 400 yards before the fourth-quarter but only gave up a TD. This type f defense will always give up alot of yards but when executed the right way the points will be limited. Like MPire said, y'all are being fooled for thinking this is on the D. Megatron / Stafford ate, no doubt. But until the fourth quarter it didn't even matter. Offense had the ball for a grand total of 3 minutes and 45 seconds in the fourth. Including only 22 seconds on that final drive. Defense finally gave out because the offense was playing scared.

And on talking Cowboys they said Carr blew up on the sidelines also. But the cameras were only focused on Dez.

I see what you mean. Might as well just give Minny all of our RBs for AP

This is either the begining of the end or just what we needed to happen.

Beginning of the end and the Giants win the division :smh:

You guys gotta admit though, its entertaining at the least

If we win, its awesome.

If we lose, its still awesome because of the fall out

Waters being out with Bicep, Triceps, and Ribs injuries is really going to hurt. The line has performed so much better with him in there. Bernardeau really needs to step up.

That's interesting about Carr blowing up. I didn't know that...

Is Carr a team cancer too?

I just don't see how the defense doesn't deserve a ton of blame when they gave up the most yards in the history of the franchise.

Because the defense got the stops when it counted most, and the offense couldn't get 10yds when it counted the most.

Cowboys break said that Dez told Romo (on the first rant)
"We're the ******g best.. Me an u... we're the best..Let's go!"

Yeah Dez is such an idiot...

They also said Carrs outburst was 2x worst than Dez... much more intense. But of course "Brandon Carr blows up on Cowboys sideline" wouldn't be as big a story as a Dez Bryant blow up.

You guys should really take a listen to it http://bit.ly/1aa8uGf

Start around the 25 minute mark

I don't think Dez was wrong, I am tired of the business man approach on the sideline just sitting there

could he have handled it better? of course

I am just saying I feel his frustration, imagine being a good player on that team? completely blowing games has to get old

Thanks for the link. Gonna listen when I get home.

You are exactly right. The fact that Dez Bryant and Chris Brown were the top 2 trending topics on facebook last night says it all. Imagine if the headline did read "Carr explodes." People would be like "WHO?"

This defense doesn't deserve the blame because this is the defense we signed up for. Giving up yards but generating turnovers. If the defense gave up 600 yards and generated ZERO turnovers, then we'd have a problem.

Claibourne out for 2 weeks.

Starting to regret that pick...slightly...

Durham doesn't make that catch with Claibourne on him. As soon as I saw Scandrick on the outside before the ball was snapped all I could do was :smh: :smh: ..

Exactly. Don't know why dude's are acting like this isn't what we've known about Kiffin defenses since 98. We're 32nd in yards but 16th in points allowed. 2nd in turnovers with 19. Which is 3 more turnovers than we had all of last year. Yards are not always an indicator of defensive performance. Houston is 1st in least yards allowed, 27 in points allowed.

Before the season ever started it was stated that the team would give up buckets of yards. Don't care if we give up 800 yards a game as long as teams don't score on us all day. Which we've generally done a great job at other than the Denver game.

And yeah I'm starting to lose hope on Mo.... Dude was playing better as of late but he's not looking like a top 10 draft pick. Still, can't/won't fault Dallas for moving up to get him.

I don't know how to solve the defense anymore. Yes, it has to do with injuries and lack of motivation (Ratliff gone). But the players we have out there are still better than usual, and we are getting roasted every week.

Defense is to blame. People are overlooking that the offense got a fg on that last drive to make it so that the Lions needed a TD to win. Under a minute to go, no timeouts, and the other team needs to score a TD and the defense lets them score a TD in like 40 seconds? That's on the D. That's inexcusable.

Detroit went like 80 yards in 40 seconds with 0 timeouts.

If you really knew football (not madden), you wouldn't post that statement.
Your part of the 99% that blame Romo for everything.

I know football and I still make that statement. Romo is to blame for most of the issues just as he was during the most pivotal moments during Parcells tenure.

"File not found." :smh:

Please tell me you have another link. What exactly was said, incase you don't?

IM TIGHT!

Edit: The defense did stop them. Then the offense gave it right back to them again due to poor clock management by our Ivy league HC and our all pro LT committing a holding penalty. Can't expect the defense to keep getting stops.

But I'm sure this is what Jerry is thinking so Kiffin will be out, and we bring in someone else only to rinse and repeat the same garbage. The offense never gets blame despite the fact that its been extremely average since Dal vs GB 3rd quarter in 2007.

Don't know why the link isn't working. But it's the Cowboys Break podcast entitled "Game Recap, Dez's Emotion and more" If you have a smartphone you can download the official Cowboys app and listen to the podcast directly on there.

Edit: Here's a link to the video version

Eatman was right next to Dez on both outbursts. They were saying Dez was effectively saying, and I'm paraphrasing "Come on now, me and Romo are too good to be playing this way (scheme wise) let's stop messing around and show them, I got 26 on me!!!!" This was the third down play when Romo threw to Dwayne Harris in borderline double coverage. Look at the play again and Dez was open on a late slant and had room in front of him :smh:

Then on the second outburst he was mad that they didn't at least try to step on their throats after the defense had just did their job in giving them the ball. Romo was trying to tell Dez to put his helmet on and get ready for the last drive, told him twice and then he effectively said 'forget it' and that's when you saw him wave Dez off.

Witten was trying to get Dez to focus for the next play and that's when you see Witten point at the scoreboard saying "we have 12 seconds and two timeouts" . Dez again was saying and again I'm paraphrasing "Man we shouldn't have to be doing this the defense gave us a chance to end this"

That's when Ware stepped in (they said the look in Wares eyes was crazy, but I never been a huge fan of Ware the leader but their statements of what he did made me respect his leadership a whole lot more) I don't remember them saying if they heard what Ware said.

While this was going on Carr was "twice as worst as Dez" yelling at Henderson and someone else.

It's a really good listen. Much more detail than I can accurately relate on here.

despite the fact that its been extremely average since Dal vs GB 3rd quarter in 2007.
 Truer words have never been spoken
