THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

i like the marinelli & linehan hires... all these voices running the team though, i don't know

It's only one voice that will be running the team, and that's Grandpa Jerry.
Not concerning myself with too much Cowboys talk right now.
Just going to enjoy the Super Bowl.
Got a feeling it's going to be a real good game.

Probably...

I still won't be watching I haven't watched a superbowl since the bucs killed the raiders I just chill and play dominos while the girls watch the commercials

I don't plan on watching every play during a superbowl until the boys are back in... Could be a long while

I feel you on that bro.
The medias portrayal of Richard Sherman as some deranged lunatic is what has me more interested than usual.
Can't wait to see Peyton get smashed.

I have no beef with any of yall dude basically implied I don't know what I'm talking about because the Lions had more rushing attempts in 2013. Well they had more passing attempts too because they ran way more plays. When you look closer at the numbers it becomes obvious there was no point in bringing that up but dude didn't want to backtrack.

Scott Linehan is going to get Dez the ball more. He's not good but GREAT at getting an elite WR the ball. That's what yall should be excited about but he ain't running the ball. In fact I'd almost bet money yall run the ball less or the same.

I want Mike Evans or Justin Gilbert at 10.
Your post caught my eye.

I feel you may be able to trade back for additional picks, for either or both potentially.

I personally prefer KB to Evans. Better straight-line speed. I'm holding Evans' LSU tape slightly against him. Sticks out in my mind.

^, Kelvin is already 23 with bad hands.

Mike is 3 years younger and maybe has the best hands in college football.

Evans way better prospect IMO, I'm no pro scout but I've evaluated prospects the past few years and while Benjamin is good I think Evans has Vincent Jackson written all over him

I knew we had a long way to go, but after watching yesterdays game it made me realize how far we have to go :smh:

Long way to go, long long way to go

I agree with you but one thing to keep in mind is that they did what they did to the #1 offense in the league. So in reality, every team can think they same way we are in that we have a long way to go.

But the reality is that there is so much parity in today's NFL, that there's no reason to not be optimistic. Granted, the way this organization is run doesn't give much hope but there's no guarantee that Seattle will be what they were this year.

With that being said, it's already being discussed that the Cowboys and Seahawks will be the season opener for 2014... :smh:

No thank you, dont want ANY part of that  as a football fan i would want to see them play San Fran opening week.

Just came in here to post that :smh: Perfect way to start the season is a prime time blow out loss to the Superbowl champs :smh: :smh: :smh: :smh: I know the Cowboys draw ratings, but I'd much rather see them play Denver or San Francisco

Some good news is Dez said he plans to be a Cowboy for life and that he hasn't even thought about being on another team :smokin

Real talk I think yall could play with Seattle.

I do too. I think we can match up with anybody, honestly. And we've upset good teams. 06 13-0 colts, 09(?) Saints when they were perfect at the time, the overtime win in San Fran. But we also seem to let even the "teams we should beat" just embarrass us too. It's weird, and heartbreaking.

With all that said though, still don't want them first. Give us the Giants again.

To beat Seattle you gotta have two wide receivers that can catch the ball in traffic and a quarterback that has the arm and the balls to throw in tight windows. Plus he's got to be mobile enough to move a little when they collapse the pocket.

Seattle will always murder a Peyton Manning stationary type but I think Romo, Dez and crew could compete yall would have to do something about the d tackle situation to stop Beast mode from going ham but it's possible

One of Romo's weaknesses, which is my biggest gripe with him, is his lack of being able to always fit the ball into tight windows. He takes less risks now, and won't throw the ball unless the receiver has good to great separation.

Garrett will make sure Dez only gets 2 targets because of Sherman's reputation, and we will abandon the run early while only being down 3.

I pray to the NFL Gawd's that Seattle plays SF first.

Exactly.

Naw man if Scott Linehan is calling the plays i can guarantee you Dez is going to get more than 2 targets in any game.

It would be smart to open the season with one of the most heated rivalries, SF vs SEA. ESP, what happened with Sherman vs Kaep/Crab.

First year in a long time where I legitimately felt jealous when another team holds up the trophy. Every other year it's been "Meh. Whatever."

I want to feel that feeling :frown:

Less than 48 hours ago, Seattle just held ONE of the greatest offenses to 8pts, and football doesn't start for another 6 months and talks about beating them?

That's a reach, I'll be happy if we break 10pts.

San Fran vs Seattle can't happen week 1.

Seattle just won a Super Bowl, so that guarantees them an extravagant home opener.

San Fran is debuting it's shiny new stadium, that guarantees them an extravagant home opener.

I don't mind opening up against Seattle.

Picture me being scared of a man that breathes the same air as me - biggy

Cowboys vs Seattle for the opener would be a disservice to NFL fans imho. Seattle plays Denver in Seattle next season, make that the opener.
