THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

At best he's a backup... It literally doesn't matter who the backup is. Anyone other than Romo ends up back there for an extended stretch and we're picking in the Top 10...

Probably a solid indication of which way they think Orton is leaning.

Release 31 y/o Ware, let Hatcher walk (with low tread on the tires mind you), use that money we cleared up...to sign 30 y/o Weeden. Rodgers-Cromartie back in the NFC East, We've got to face The uptempo eagles, RGIII led Washington, and 2 time SB Champ Elijah, :smh:. Team is a flat out JOKE. And, Romo turns 34 years old before start of season. I can bet you ANY amount of money, we'll need a new signal caller in 2 years.

Melton >>>>>> jarred.

Not even close.
Melton is young.  Jared is old.  It's really that simple.  Plus interior pass rushers are extremely rare, and Allen's sack numbers hide the fact that he's been less productive in terms of hits/hurries, etc.

I really wanted Melton on the Hawks.

DRC sucks I am glad he is back in the NFC East, Dez abused that dude every single time he played him

1) Releasing Ware and letting Hatcher leave were good decisions.

2) Weeden being signed as a place holder backup QB doesn't stop us from doing anything else.

3) What does DRC have to do with anything?

4) The only way to fix the issue of facing the offenses we play is to get younger/faster on defense. Did you expect that to be done before the draft without much cap space?

5) Again, how would you like us to address the QB issue RIGHT NOW?

1) You didn't explain why we released 2 pro bowlers, who were tenured for over 8 years ('05, '06 draft picks), one in particular, Hatcher, who's a team leader and actually outplayed Marcus Spears who he sat behind for years. BUT, we had/have interest in Peppers and Jared Allen...Who are both older than Hatch/Dware.
2) What does DRC have to do with anything? LOL, We face the Giants TWICE and their DBs are notorious for play Dallas well. Don't cry when you see a DRC pick-6 housed.
4) See #1
5) Didn't say address it now. It's funny we're rebuilding, at a stage where Romo is about to soon retire...

put DRC on Dez and see what happens, I love that signing for the Giants, heck I commend them for bringing that guy back here to play us twice a year

Have you seen DRC play lately? Not even sure why he's even being brought up. Dez abused him in Philly/Denver and the same will happen with the Giants. Their secondary doesn't scare anyone. What did their secondary do vs us last year?

thank you, Dez gives that dude nightmares so I am glad they gave him 39 million

1) They're both over 30 and either declining (Ware) or only been extremely productive for one season (Hatcher)... Nobody ever said we were out there trying to throw wads of cash at Allen or Peppers. We wouldn't have paid Peppers what he got, and we won't pay Allen that kind of cash either. Why wouldn't we at least talk to them and see if the market was low enough to buy on a friendly deal? It'd be stupid not to. We did the same thing with Ware before deciding the price was too high.

2) DRC in New York is not going to make or break our season. He's not elite.

4) You're talking in circles.

5) So you're just *****ing about us not being good? Welcome to the last two decades.

Man, hush that noise bruh. Hatcher's been productive for ONE season? And, you call yourself a fan? He was a late round draft pick from Grambling State. Even when we were 3-4 heavy, HE WAS ALWAYS making an impact. Him and Chris Canty were disruptive for YEARS. Stop sitting here saying that was only productive one season. He's only been a full-time starter for TWO seasons. Yet, guys have faith in Anthony Spencer? Who started alongside Ware and did nothing for 5 years? Save it.

5) Last two decades? LOL, In that case, no SBs in 1994, or 96? Or having actually MADE the playoffs 4 times in the 2000s? :roll eyes

1000

19 INTs in 6 years... 5 returned for TDs. Go sit down somewhere and watch tape. He's the definition if a risk taker at CB.

Dude had three picks on a team where the othe squad was throwing the ball on 90% of snaps to keep up with the Broncos.

Drc is above average at best

Spencer was consistently top 3 at his position(second olb) stop using sack total to judge a player's effectiveness

Look at the Arizona #'s fam. Stop discrediting this dude. Do you know how HARD it is to play Cornerback? Let alone get interceptions AND take 5 to the house for TDs? And, he's only 27 years old. Look at the NFL record books for top interceptees. The list is compiled mostly of Safeties.

Top 3 BRUH? In what UNIVERSE? Better than Wake? Watt? Hali? Orakpo? Dumervil? He did force a lot of fumbles, I will give him that.

How bout you go take a look at some NEW tape instead of living in the past. His numbers came in Arizona and hasn't done a damn thing since he's left. He has 1 TD since 2011! You're in here campaigning for him like the Giants just signed Revis or Talib. Miss me with that foolishness.

Watt plays dl
Orakpo is a #1

Spencer was fourth in the league in sacks (6), pressures (31) and hits (9), though pressures and hits are unofficial stats. For his position

In his last season played...

Ironic you mention Talib...
Same draft class as DRC.
You wouldn't have known who Talib was had he not played for the Patriots, by way of Tampa Bay.
:rolleyes

And you mentioned Revis..."Watch NEW tape (In regards to Cromartie)" But, isn't Revis living off "Old" tape... :rolleyes

Again, talk what you know man. Stop going off what the media feeds your silly self and going over statistics, decipher some game footage, X's and O's. Until then, I will stick to my guns.

You yourself said, don't go off sack stats? Contract season, after having played since 2007. 5 years to make a REAL impression? Okay, in that case Orakpo's teammate Ryan Kerrigan DEFINITELY made more impact plays than Spencer. If you want to use statelines...
