THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

It means Dez isn't overrated like some NT GM's have stated. Of course, they are now eating their words.

P.S. No one in here is indicating Dez is better than Calvin
exactly we're not saying he is better, we are just saying he's in the same class

if Dez really wanted to fire shots, he should just be like at least I don't need Diddy to hold down my Johnson so I can get my Calvin on

Calvin Johnson is right, and I hope Dez takes his statement to heart.
When they showed the overhead shot of Dez and Terrence Williams running the identical route, Dez got no separation.
Route running is definitely Dez weakest link.

Definitely. He can still work on his game conditioning also. It's scary to think of how good he'll be when he gets those two things down pat. He is already putting up top three receiver stats and he still has a lot to work on.

his route running needs work no doubt about that, but it has gotten soooo much better over the past year

imagine if he became a great route runner and how good he would be then

Dez really hasn't even scratched the surface of his potential yet, he's still not even in his prime yet

Romo is an undrafted free agent QB. Started as a borderline 4th string QB. Ends up winning 60+ games in 8 years, throwing for 27000+ yards in a 100 games, which is a record and has over a 2-1 TD/INT ratio. Along with a top 7 all time QB rating and the best 4th quarter rating among active (all time? ) Qbs. 20 game winning drives in his career, throwing for 28 touchdowns and 4200 + yards every single year.

If Romo was on any other team he'd be viewed as one of the best feel good stories in NFL history. People would look at him as the go to example of working hard to make it. Him just starting for 8 years would be viewed as an amazing accomplishment. Any thing he does in addition to that would be viewed as icing on the cake of an amazing classic American story. Instead, he plays for Dallas and people treat him like he was the #1 overall pick of a loaded draft.

Fun fact, 11 Qbs were taken in the 03 draft over Romo

Carson Palmer

Bryan Leftwich

Kyle Boller

Rex Grossman

Dave Ragone

Chris Simms

Seneca Wallace

Brian St. Pierre

Drew Henson

Kliff Kingsbury

Ken Dorsey

Tony Romo - Undrafted

Even us Cowboys fans don't respect him enough, a legit argument could be made that Romo is the best QB to ever play for Dallas.

TROY AIKMAN. ROMO'S ISSUE IS HE DOESNT GET HIS TEAM THE PLAYOFF wins..

I defend Romo constantly, but at the end of the day, you gotta win the big games. Lebron is/was top 3 for all those years in cleveland, but until that championship, he was garnett on the Twolves.

@BryanBroaddus: “@mavs2011champs0: @BryanBroaddus what do u think about Calvin Johnson saying Dez isn't a good route runner? Is he right?” Neither is he (Calvin).
 Bryan Broaddus is that dude

Not saying Romo is better than Troy but lets also keep in mind Troy had an all pro offensive line and arguably the best back to ever play the game to hand the ball off to in the 4th quarter. But you are right, until Romo gets a ring, this will be how he's perceived.

The interesting thing is, if/when Romo does happen to get a ring, I can already see people stating "Romo was always a good QB, check his stats".

First things first, nobody runs "perfect" routes.
Most receivers run good routes, and a select few are great route runners.
Dez runs good enough routes to be tenth in receiving yards, and second in touchdowns.
It's not always about running good routes.
It's about getting open, catching the ball, and yards after the catch.
Dez is the BEST at ALL three! HANDS DOWN!

quick fantasy question guys

I took Spiller 6th overall, dude is killing me, so I've been offered Keenan Allen or Darren Sproles for him, non PPR I got Gio Bernard, DMC, Woodhead, Randle and Stacy at RB and Dez, Marshall, Terrance Williams and Harvin at WR

sorry to ask in this thread but just trying to get some feedback on this

I'd just keep Spiller. Sproles hasn't been too great either this year. I would give Spiller a better chance at breaking out and being worth something.

Troy had Nov Turner. Romo has Wade Wilson.

Wilcox hurt his knee in practice. They're thinking a MCL sprain right now. Having a MRI later today.

Season is over if we have to start McCray for an extended period of time. Serious. That guy is that bad.

Not having Wilcox back there is going to be scary with them throwin jump balls up to Calvin all game
