THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

Romo threw the ball 51 times and we were never down by more than 3 points the entire game

What kills me is how obvious our formation is when we run the ball. Dwayne Harris is usually on the field every time we run the ball.

If we notice this, don't you think defenses notice this?

They notice it and FEAST on it.
I'm thinking back to the draft and Jerry saying how drafting Travis Frederick would give Romo more time.
Notice he didn't say anything about creating more room to run on short yardage and goal line situations.
Either Romo and Garrett have convinced Jerry we don't need to run, or Jerry is so content he only cares that the Cowboys are relevant.

Jason Garrett: "You'd like to have a little more balance on offense" ... Isn't that obvious Sherlock :smh:

@clarencehilljr - the cowboys needed a RB in the draft .. needed guards, needed defensive linemen but chose a TE and dont use him

@clarencehilljr - Cowboys could have drafted EDDIE LACY instead of a TE they dont use .. what happened to the 2 TE plan anyway?

@clarencehilljr - it boggles the mind that the Cowboys ran the ball only 9 times against the Vikings

I usually don't agree with Clarence, but he was spot on.

At this point I don't even know if I want us to win the division. If we do Jerry probably won't change crap. Yall are right, the O staff needs to go. Jerry needs to do whatever he can to keep Marinelii.... even if it means promoting him to DC.

Chia said draft Eddie Lacy, said it on draft day, I will pull up my tweets later for you guys, I hated that TE pick

Messed up an otherwise good draft :smh: Wouldn't be as bad if they at least put him on the field, but they seem to forget he's even on the roster :smh:

Romo is tied for the most game winning drives since 2011. Probably only came against 2 win teams tho :rolleyes

I remember ..Lacy, Le'von Bell, Margus Hunt, Jordan Reed, Honey Badger, etc were all still on the board but we rushed to the podium like we struck gold :smh:

Hunt is probably the only one you mentioned that I would have considered there.... But that (te not dl) was a luxery pick that we weren't in possition to make

If he can't block he can't play not with our line

That was my point, the Cowboys treated it like a luxary pick when we had plenty of other needs.

this TE aint even a luxury though! dude has done nothing!

one year I know, but if this dude never becomes a receiving threat, that is major failure, Lacy would have brought instant physical impact who could close games

One would hope we would use some of our "assets" to get a few extra 2nd and 3rd Round Picks this year.

I know it would screw with having many receivers on the field. But a good FB may actually help your running game.

The Cowboys of the 90s OLine was stacked, and that was a huge part of Emmitt's success, but you can never discount the contributions of Moose. Provides more blocking. Can be used as misdirection. Even on passing downs provides protection for Romo.

Doesn't mean we always need to run 2 WR, TE, RB, FB.

But never being able to run it, really doesn't help us with a run game.

ugly win, but a win is a win, so ill take it. this team is going to have to play with more fire though... they looked so lackluster out there

the offense was painful to watch... the lack of running play calls (again) was also painful.

nice game winning drive from romo though.

And now it looks as though Philly will play Green Bay with no Aaron Rodgers had that as an L now not so sure... Hope we can pull a win out of our ***** against NO.

Also I'll be in New Orleans the following week for the 49ers game with a group from work, anyone going to that game

only thing i'm asking myself is why aren't we playing like we played the broncos?

What do yall think about Dallas makin a play for Nnamdi? if we have the cap, it couldn't hurt right?

The biggest reason I was upset about the TE pick is because it was so high, Escobar would've been around late in the draft and maybe would've went undrafted.

no way bro, no way, I dislike that pick but really that isn't accurate

Escobar was a legit 2nd round grade by many teams, in fact I believe SF would have taken him over the TE from Rice they drafted

but we didn't need a TE who couldn't block, yeah a receving TE is great, but in this system the TEs need to block and you could have gotten a guy like that later or taken Reed from Florida who I had graded out higher anyway

they got lucky TW fell to the third because he was a legit first round pick IMO

Lacy made the most sense for this team, Warford wasn't on their board, which is a shame he would be a beast at RG for us

Imagine if we got Lacy and TWill :smh: They're both probably the leading offensive rookie of the year candidates.

This isn't good. Initial reports show that Gawdgers will be back in time for our game but will miss the Eagles/Giants game, giving them each a W where as we will most likely lose against the Saints this weekend. That means we'll be tied for the division lead with the Eagles.

Giants I'm not worried about in the least though. But luck never seems to bounce our way.

At the same time, we shouldn't be worried about other teams and how they perform since if we handle our business, then everything will work out.
