Garrett might not be the desired coach for most of us in Cowboys Nation, but you continuity among your team to really compete for a championship. Rotating your head coach or qb out every 4-5 years gets you nowhere and you just keep spinning your tires.

I agree to an extent. What cannot be ignored though is that in today's NFL, you can have a head coach completely turn around a team within a short time frame. I'm most definitely a fan of consistency. However, with consistency should come improvement. When Jimmy first took over, despite the 1-15, and 7-9 type starts, you KNEW the team was headed in the right direction. Can you honestly say the same since Garrett took over? Do you feel we have been improving year after year since he took over mid season of 2010?

Garrett is basically a HC in training. Guys like Romo, and Witten are in their prime years and don't have time to wait on a coach with extremely little experience to develop.

The fact that Garrett as an offensive coordinator has not shown any improvement since 2008 is also a bad sign on top of all his brain farts, and time mismanagement. I want Garrett to succeed because I've always felt that Garrett, being a former player on the team in the 90s, is fully aware of how JJ's methods of 'control' work and how he operates. Being that he came into this job already knowing that, he'd be best to work with him. I also like the fact that he's gotten rid of guys like Gurode, Columbo, Barber, etc and has replaced them with guys like Tyron, Doug Martin and Travis Frederick. He did say this was a process and I definitely bought into the RKG (Right Kind of Guy) movement. However, the strengths of Garrett are only seen in his player evaluation and not as a HC. Maybe it's indeed due to lack of experience. But by the time Garrett develops into the 'next Landry' as Jerry puts it, Romo and Witten will be gone and we have already seen how well our GM is able to replace a franchise QB (See Chad Hutchinson, Clint Stoernor, Ryan Leaf, Vinny Testaverde, Quincy Carter, Drew Bledsoe, Drew Henson, Anthony Wright).

What I will say though is that no matter who comes in as HC, they are going to have to deal with Jerry which is a feat in itself. We'll have to win IN SPITE of him. As a Garrett supporter, this is his last season. He may benefit from having Romo go down and will be able to save face that the season didn't go as planned because he didn't have his franchise QB. But if Romo remains upright, and we have another 8-8 season, Garrett continues to display his inepetitude and game mismanagement, then its time for him to go.
