THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

I think the team is about two years away... Unless they can really hit in free agency this off season.

The offense will be fine for years, no matter who we rotate in and out at WR/TE/RB imo, because of the Line. And when talking about the line, alot of people forget I think that all these dudes are like 23-24, they are going to get a lot, lot better, it's scary to think where the running game and pass protection will be in two years.

But other than our LB's, Scandrick, Melton, Church, and Crawford, every other starter on defense needs to be upgraded. That'll take time. The team will make the playoffs I think, but true contention is a few years away. Get a pass rush.

All depends on what happens with Murray or Dez.

We could be fine with Murray going. It'll hurt for a couple years, but RB come along all the time. If Dez left (I don't see it happening, but if he did) it would cripple us for a while.

Not sure if I can agree with the two years away comments, I don't see Romo being effective much longer (although I do love his toughness) he is playing through injuries. They need to start grooming another QB asap.

I'm with you on this. IF Romo can play at a high level in two years I think we'd be great assuming we pick up some decent offensive players and resign Dez. But that's a huge IF, I really think if Romo takes one more big injury to his back he is done. I hate to say that but he can only take so much.

If we want to do anything (with Romo at least) the time is now. I feel like every team in the NFC is beatable except Green Bay . Well I feel like it's possible of course but I think it would be very difficult. Aaron would have a field day with out secondary.

What QB's you guys looking at tho? I would love Mariota on our team but that's highly unlikely. Jamis Winston sounds like a real possibility but I think he's garbage.

I wouldnt mind taking a QB in the third round this year. First and second round needs to be deicated to our defense.

Im kind of excited about our LB's next year Lee, McClain, Durant should do work.

Right now i think we are the 4th best team in the NFC with GB, Seattle, and Philly ahead of us. This week will be a huge for us. I dont wanna call it a make or break game but i really feel like it is.

Isn't Durant a free agent? So they would have to sign two of those three to deals for that to be the case I really see them trying to keep McClain and letting Durant go starting Hitchens

Who other than Suh is a free agent D line wise they're going to need to bring one in even if they draft a good one the line will be young

Defensive needs

D line inside and out
CB
Free safety

Possibly in that order, maybe grab another linebacker late if value is there. Mix all that with need at right tackle depending on Free's cost and a mid round qb if a better option than Vaughn is available.

when need to draft CB or DT heavy the 1st few rounds this year unless one of the big time QB drop this year then im all for drafting one early.

Odds on three straight prime time games? If they win Sunday I would be willing to bet next week is prime time as well

How do you guys feel about Sunday night?

My take is this..our anchor(the online) played maybe their worst game of the season. Philly's dline played their best game..particularly fletcher cox. I can't see this happening again.

Romo played his worse game of the season. Can't see that happening again.

The defense still scares me, we were horrible on thanksgiving, particularly in outside containment. Conversely, the eagles D isn't top notch either, and we took 1 shot at their secondary. That's gotta change.

I refuse to believe we wet our pants again..tho I'm expecting a much better philly team than the one Seattle just spanked..

It's for the season tho man. The playoffs. This is big. And NOBODY (besides mike Irvin) is picking us to win. Nobody.

CANT WAIT!!

We gotta get our run game going early and often. T. Williams needs to make plays, its time for him to step up and be that reliable player we need.

Cox and Kendricks have been ballin and killed us last game. Cant let them control the game like they did last time.

Last meeting Samchez killed us, no way we can give him that type of time again. Im not expecting a big game from our defense but we need to get some type of pressure.

Mark Sanchez is Mark Sanchez.

Dallas is winning Sunday night.

This is the NFL. How many times have you a backup come in have a spark then suck?

funny, i heard or saw someone write the same thing before that last game, and homie came here and handed us them philly beats.

Its better if they win the div. They own h2h over us, we own it over Seahawks. We want to be competing with Seattle just in case we dont win nfce. and niners are Pl aying themselves out and they head to Seattle this week. If they can pull off the upset great for increasing wildcard chances but if not we just have to keep pace with seatlle. Long as we tie we're in over them.

Winning the division is the best bet though

^^^ If we tie with Seattle but Detroit is also tied with us then Seattle will jump us for the Wildcard spot. So yeah, we probably need to win out.

Because First tiebreaker for 3 way tie is conference record? Im on my phone.

What is Seattle's conf record compared to us?. We have two conference games left.

Correct all of our losses have been in conf play. That Diplomats game could really come back to kill us

As many of you have noticed, the Cowboys are currently in a three-way tie for wildcard standing with the Seahawks and the Lions. In a three-team tie, head-to-head results aren’t used and conference records determine pecking order. Seattle and Detroit are both 7-2 in the NFC, while the Cowboys are 6-4.
Ideally, the Cowboys want one of those two teams to lose – and it’d be better if it were the Lions. Dallas has a head-to-head tiebreaker with Seattle, so a two-way tie would favor the Cowboys by virtue of their 30-23 win at CenturyLink Field in October.

Detroit and Seattle are both 2 games up in conference, so for us to get a wildcard we'd have to scoreboard watch and pray they lose 2/3 last games. Looking at their schedule it doesn't seem likely. However winning the division is in our own hands, win and your in. Simple as that.

Playoffs start Sunday night :smokin

I actually think it's very possible Detroit loses 2 out of the next 3. They have three division games left and division games are never gimmies

With that being said, if we don't beat Philly we honestly don't deserve to be in the playoffs anyway. Personally if we beat Philly I'm hoping we can get that #2 seed if we win our remaining two games as Romo could definitely use an extra week to rest his back. Again this is assuming we win in Philly and then beat the colts and skins. One thing that may be on our side is that the Colts clinch the division this Sunday with a win. They will be the 3 seed regardless since they lost to Denver and NE so hopefully they come into our game not caring. That leaves the last game against the skins which will def be tough since they always play us like it's their super bowl.
