THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

I meant to post about Ernie Sims last week and how in the world he fell off so bad, and then the Cowboys sign him and he's balling. No way he shouldn't stick.

First quarter and a half was brutal.... But there after you see how good Romo could be and how good our receiving core is if they are on the same page...

That OLine and Felix is still bad...

Garrett is awful. So he doesn't have a problem running the ball at the goal line 5 times when the defense has all 11 guys on the line. But when you're at the 20 on 2nd and 1, he doesn't even want to try a run or QB draw.

And Romo...I'm done with him. He's a decent QB but he's the equivalent of a spread offense passer. Difference between him and truly elite QBs is that he can't make all the throws. Romo excels at making the throws between the numbers on the field. That's why Witten has made a career off of that. But you see Romo struggle to make throws to his receivers down field down the sidelines. That's why I had no faith in them scoring once they got inside the 30 on those last 2 drives. The Cowboys offense = using the outside WRs as a decoy to spread the defense out and then they bring Austin/Witten across the middle. Once you move inside the 30, the field shortens and Romo isn't really good at making accurate throws in tight windows.

^ Nah man Romo can make all the throws sometimes the WR have to give themselves more room to operate amd I agree why the flip don't you go for the easy 1yrd when we had it the next to last time.

Romo is a scrub. I can't wait until he's gone. He is declining and he was never that good to begin with. His deep ball is awful.

LMAO

The offense in that 1st qtr was :x The momentum finally swung in our direction & things looked a lot better after that. Romo threw too much though... I know Murray is out, but still.

The effort by Dez on that play was incedible. Great game by Witten too.

Defense did their thing out there.

On that one interception to Dez.. Once he beat the Corner, he shoulda crossed under the saftey.. So that one is on Dez.. You guys don't see what happens up the field.. Even Troy Aikman said that. Not Romo's fault..

Man we gotta handle this Romo hatred next time we out cause dude isn't that bad. I like his deep ball but running corner routes with Ogleetree at the end of the game isn't the buisness. Until we find somebody better than Romo I think we shouldn't be quick to want him gone or have we forgot about the Hutch, Henson, Carter days so soon.

This team dont have "IT"

This one burns bad. The giants could not move the ball.

Come on Dez, use your head and put ya elbow on the turf.

Im done.

Seems like everyone has given up. Just go ahead and become Texans fans'.
or fans are just been real. i said before we are a avg team 8-8 type of team. and we have had games to prove us wrong and ant done yet.

your trust this bum *** HC turning the team around down the line?

I'm not blaming Dez for a damn thing yesterday... He showed up, and a tough catch that was an inch from winning the game..

There's being real and then you got fans already calling the season a wash and even hoping to lose. To answer the question no I don't expect us to turn it around but there has been improvement. The presnap penalties cut down, plays coming in late cut down, Witten had a monster turnaround, dez monster turnaround; that at least gives me shows me something. And on the no run call our running game was @#$% all day, and on the third Witten dropped the potential first. No one mentions that.

Down 23-0 in the first did you expect to go down to the very wire? That doesn't mean something?

There is 4 things holding this team back

1. Jason Garrett... A lot of bad play calling... And with the exception of yesterday, which is understandable why it was so many Pass calls, call some damn running plays. You have to mix it up
2. Tony Romo 50% of the time.. When he's on he's great, but 13 picks not even half way through the season shows someone who is not consistent
3. The offensive line... I can live with Free's play... Tyron is still working things out.. But everything else on the line is all bad.. Hence no running game.
4. Our running game is putrid. Murray is a decent back, but unless he gets a better line to clear some holes he will never get to another level... And Felix upsets me

we dont even try to run the ball that is the problem the last 2 years. when we try to run it we do a good job or u get games like yesterday where we get down back and throw it around to get back in the game and he still doesnt run it in the 4th. murry looks fine when we give him the ball.

we should of never been in that postion in the first place

romo should never EVER throw it 60 times in a game

i thought the cowboys actually protected fairly well yesterday. i don't know if that's only a product of the giants only rushing 4 and sitting in soft coverage though

Murray wasn't out there, only runner that can really be trusted. IMO we weren't winning that game rushing.
It might have kept a couple drives that end in ints into just punts but still we werent winning that game rushing.
And for the first three romo picks we ended up taking the lead.

Garrett showed he could stick to the run vs Baltimore and all our problem areas have been improved on like i posted
earlier, hopefully when demarco gets healthy this'll change too.
