THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

Why did we keep pounding the rock to randle? He isn't no murray.

This is gonna take some time to walk off.

In normal seasons sure.

But have you seen the NFC East teams?

We are halfway through the season. With a talented and veteran team. And a tenured coach who has even played extensively in the league. Washington has RGIII and although the Giants are not playing bad, they're still a threat. And even outside of the division, New Orleans and San Francisco are each hitting or about to hit their stride.

This is becoming to commonplace bro. Year after year. It's Garrett bro, until further notice. Dez is probably the most passionate unselfish player the Cowboys have had in years. Most of the other players are living off the history of the Cowboy legends/predecessors. Too much talent on this team to be defeated, in these ways, game after game.

pissed aint the word. I want Jason Garrett gone dude is not head coach period, what was he thinking with the play calling. I want to go on a rant so bad right now about this teams coaching on both sides of the ball.

Literally moments before Orlando got smoked

Man, we really lost that game :smh:

So that's half the season. How are you guys feeling about the team players now? Any change from the beginning of the year?

Positives.

The rookies, mostly Frederick and TWill have exceeded my expectations. The defense is about where I though it would be. Dez is where I thought he would be. Romo has been balling.

Negatives. We still seem to make a mistake at the worst possible moments. 4 losses by a combined 15 points. That comes down to mental mistakes. Today, no penalties all game, but on our last offensive possession, holding :smh: Mo, Carter, Hanna and Miles have been huge disappointments. I'm entirely convinced that the offensive staff needs to be revamped also.

All in all things are a little better than I thought, but not because of anything we've done. I did expect us to be 5-3 at this point but I didn't expect the division to be this bad. Going to have to get two wins in New York, Washington, or Chicago.

Phillip Tanner has to get a little bit of blame on that hold, he needs to understand the situation and to just run forward and secure the football and stay inbounds. No need for a Barry Sanders impersonation there. Holds are more susceptible when your doing all that cutting back.

Yeah basically this, changing directions when no one is ready for that is how holdings and blocks in the backs always happen. He needs to understand that they were running the ball to run the clock, not to get the 1st down. Yeah he ran to get them into good FG range, but that wasn't what they needed. The drive before that Garrett probably should of ran on 3rd down too to burn another one of their TOs.

Another game we lose opposed to being beaten. Its the offense, and more specifically the game planning and in-game decisions. I cant articulate it right now but this offense shouldn't be this stale. That's the hump to get over. How long has it been since the Denver game. Could it be what Romo is doing at the line? IDK. Brees, Peyton, and Brady don't go consecutive weeks like this with their offenses sagging barring injuries. Overall we need to get healthy. I want to rest Ware, Murray, Wilcox, etc. until after the bye but can we afford it? IDK how I feel about this team right now.

Maybe it's the running game. DeMarco is goof, but maybe he isn't good enough. Maybe the OLine doesn't give enough blocking.

The D-Line is depleted. The linebackers are not good coverage guys (Sean Lee excluded because he has somehow turned that around). The Corners are not playing the pass well, and the Safeties give very little help over the top.

Maybe it's the play calling on offense, or the schemes on defense.

those corners and safeties need to replaced a healthy rb would be nice but we can do well with an avg one as well. Some coaches who could maximize this is the day things turn around in Dallas. We are giving up too many points. This team needs to draft some cornerstone coverage guys

We shouldn't overreact either guys. The Lions have a freak of nature and they rode him all game and that was the difference. The secondary has shortcomings at times but I feel they are a good group. And for the people questioning Murray's vision earlier this season, I think he undoubtedly has better vision than these other guys. Our run game was just that much better when he was given the opportunities. We will see how he produces when he comes back. We gotta get healthy and stay healthy relative to other teams to have a chance down the stretch.

I feel your point but for how long have we been avg its time to start reacting accordingly, if we always let go losses due to the superior opposition how can we really change. We know offensively we can get it done, with murray or with an upgrade were good, but when you have a Dez Bryant on your team you need to do way more to get him the ball. The defensive side excluding the defensive line needs to be overhauled coaches included

Had some time to step back.

Im not as upset at our defense. Gave our offense 4 turnovers, we should have had a bigger lead than 6 points on the final drive. Calvin had a monster day on us that was just unreal. Carr played him as tough as he could but on some of those there was nothing he could do.

D-line just didnt have the players to get to Stafford. Lee played lime a beast as usual.

The offense played like crap all first half and left too many points on the board. Detroit knew every play we were going to run in the first half.

The division can still be ours just because how bad everyone else is. We are an average team, like we all knew and these are the type of games we lose.

Garrett's time here is done, we are running the same plays we ran when he was coaching. That conservative BS was killing me smh, get a first down win the game.

Agreed on my part. I'm not trying to make excuses, something does need to be done i just don't know exactly what yet. I do feel it has to do with the offense or the plan of attack they come into games with.

This. 4 TO should be enough. What is up with this offense?

This game broke me today. I basically had a breakdown on BTB and Twitter.

Not sure how many Dallas meltdowns I can take lol

Don't get me wrong, if your opponent has no timeouts with 60 seconds left they should not drive down and score a TD. But it should've never came to that. Only unit without blame is special teams, Bailey and Harris balled.

What was worse guys, this or the Denver loss?

This one by far IMO. 4 forced turnovers, up 6 with a minute left only to watch them go 80 yards and win it. If we dont hold we win.

Once Romo threw the pick i knew the Denver game was over. This one had me holding on praying our defense would stop them smh
