THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

This is by far the most disappointing S!!! I had the chance of witnessing. The whole damn stadium knew the game was and shoud be over. Yet the gave thr game away. I dont know what all the cameras got, but dez went off for like 5 mins straight and deservingly so. What the lions do with megatron an thr amount of touches he sees is what he should get. But we have an incompetent coach who does just enough not to get fired. Lions fans was some real cool. Had a blast but man...FRUSTRATING.

I don't have too much of a problem with Dez at least this time since he has been good for the most part this year but dudes crazy thinking this was all about winning. I also see cats really overrate screaming and acting a fool like that makes you want to win more than the next person lol.

We've seen multiple games this season when Dez hasn't received targets and he never blew up like that. Dez was P.O'd because of how the offense was playing, this was about winning.

Romo himself mentioned that Dez isn't a "me" guy, he wanted to win this game.
If you believe that I bet you write Santa a Christmas list every year still lol. I know you don't believe everything your hear.

If you don't think Dez was tripping because Megatron was going Megatron you are being naive.

He was. Because y'all were giving your best offensive player a chance to win the game. Dez was on the field watching a rookie get literally more targets in one drive than he did all game. Dez knew he could help the team/stop the offense from stuttering, but they weren't giving him a chance, hence the frustration. Dude had 6 targets all game. That's unacceptable. Bottom line, Megatron was helping his team win every drive, Dez wasn't even getting a chance.

I didn't know Dez had this many apologist. When most thought this game was over did we see CJ acting a fool on the sidelines? All I'm saying is you don't have to act a damn fool just to have passion. I don't get why people don't want to hear that. Would y'all want cats to be screaming on y'all in the same situation on some passion steez? I know I wouldn't

I just don't understand what acting a fool on the sideline was going to help. All it could do is alienate teammates, that's why Witten and Ware were about to jump him.

I've had it done before. If we're not doing what we need to do to win the game then I don't see anything wrong with it, it's part of the competitive nature of the game.

I'd rather have someone yelling at me than sitting on the bench all nonchalant like Romo and Witten 99% of the time. Excluding the last outburst obviously, each time they showed Dez acting a fool on the sidelines the following possession the offense scored. Like Deion said, someone needs to show some passion.

Edit: And let me be clear, I'm not trying to say Dez couldn't had handled that better. I'm saying that this notion that he just was worried about his numbers and keeping up with Megatron is incorrect and lazy analysis. When TWill scored his Td Dez was the first and loudest one to celebrate. He was just frustrated with the way the O was playing. And seeing the outcome of the game, it looks like he was right.

I'm just going to say y'all are better than me cause I'm not with the screaming on me stuff at all. I was mainly talking about the last acting out after the td too even though the other ones were definitely more IMO about megatron showing out than just getting the ball. Like some of y'all have stated earlier he has had other games and he didn't act like this when not getting the ball so that's why I'm shocked at so many people acting like this isn't more of the reason for his antics today. I still rock with him but we don't need no TO 2.0 out here lol cause all that screaming he did didn't get us nowhere but a 1 game exit :nerd:

Hold up!
I just saw the first Dez "blow up" for the first time.
Once again a guy wants to win more than anything in the world, and it gets blown out of proportion because everyone loves soap operas.
Brady does that all the time and it's considered "leadership"!
Yeah Dez was being demonstrative but this is football, and if you have sensitive feelings then your in the wrong profession.

Dez does that shh every week. Every time something doesn't go his way.. it's a tired *** act, and this is coming from a huge Dez fan.

Michael Irvin did it.
Randy Moss did it.
Brady does it and openly admitted he gets a little too hype.
John Elway did it.
Jordan did it.
Troy Aikman went off on the offense all the time.
Michael Irvin talked about how if the offense didn't score points after the defense got a turnover, Charles Haley would be cussing the offensive guys out when they came to the sideline.
The problem with this Cowboys team is you only have one Dez.
What if we had ten or twelve players in the starting lineup with Dez's passion to win?
What if our head coach had Dez's passion to win?
Chances are we wouldn't be 4-4 right now.

another game we gave away... its tough too because the standings worked in our favor today in the division. we could've gained some more ground over philly & given ourselves some breathing room in 1st.

terrible clock management at the end there... that holding penalty killed us too.

i have no problem with what dez did... he was the only player out there on the sidelines showing passion & we needed that kind of fire. its a shame everyone will blow this situation up like his comments this week for example. i liked the fire he brought though... it was better than everyone holding their heads down & being quiet.

props to CJ on an incredible game... that was a flat out amazing performance. stafford was impressive on that last drive as well, especially faking everyone out & going over the top for that TD.

i still have confidence that we can finish 1st in the division... but at the same time this team is gonna be who they are so im gonna continue to expect the unexpected

does dez have the resume of any those guys you mentioned?
no he doesnt
when you are a tom brady, you can yell at your players and get away with it. He has earned that right and players listen
when you are a jay cutler, you yell at your players, you get crucified

Was in DC for the weekend and caught the game out there. Tough loss but still at the top of this garbage division.

Funny how people complain about the Cowboys not having enough "leaders" or guys that are passionate about winning, and when they do have one, people try to lump him in the same category as "team cancer."

Dez going off had nothing to do with Megatron getting #s. Dez was the first person celebrating when Williams caught that slant and took it to the house. Interestingly enough, that play came AFTER Dez was on the sidelines going off.

This team and its core set of players have come to accept mediocrity as the norm. Their fault or not, this is the reality. The Cowboys also play 'not to lose' rather than 'play to win' and this was where Dez was most upset. This was even more apparent in the 4th quarter with a minute and some change to go before we ran that play which cost us the holding penalty. Right before this play, Dez is on the sidelines shaking his head. The Cowboys take an extremely conservative approach instead of going for the 'kill' especially on the road. What ends up happening works in Garrrett's favor because the defense is left with having the games in their hands, which they ultimately botch. Thus, it always appears that we have issues on defense and have trouble stopping teams. But it wouldn't come to that if we would go for the kill instead of this conservative *** ********

I'll have to go back and watch the tape of the altercation with Dez and Witten as they cut the game off in DC to show RGKnee and the Skins. But from what I was reading on some forums was that Dez was pissed at the fact that we were being so conservative with the drive before that which could have sealed the game.

"I just honestly feel like you have to have that passion, you have to have that passion, to even be in games like this. And take it over the top to winning games like this. I feel like if you're just out there, you know, with a mediocre attitude you're going to get blown out"

- Dez Bryant after the game

They have had the cameras in the locker room when Garrett addresses the team following games a few times this season does anyone know if there is video of that following this game?

That's what happens when you have a mediocre team. There's no other way around it. We don't know how to close games. Another season where we gotta tell our friends "we should be 7-1 or 6-2" :smh: :smh: :smh: :smh: but in reality we're 4-4 :x :x :x :x

The only question I have for Jerry, Stephen, and our scouting dept is why the hell did we draft Escobum over Lacy????????????? They knew Murray had health issues and Hanna came on strong down the stretch, THERE WAS NO NEED FOR US TO DRAFT A TE IN THE 2nd ROUND !!!! We wouldn't have to kick that FG with a 1 min left if we had a RB who could close the damn game out! I knew they were going to come out and march it down the field on our D, how many times have we've seen this episode before??

We shouldn't be drafting a RB in the 2nd round either. I know he looked good salting the game for the Packers last night put that was like a 3 or 4 possession lead. If they can't block or the play design sucks then we get the same outcome.
