Yeah, but like I was saying our offense is 10 times worse with Bill Callahan IMO. He tries to run the ball too much in my opinion.. Some of the most successful teams with potent running games always have a great defense as well. (Seattle, San Francisco, Kansas City) we don't have a defense.. We need to do what works best for us.. And that's throwing the ball.

This team, in my opinion listens to the medias criticism and let's it dictate how they play their game. Last year they said Romo threw a lead leading 18 interceptions (tied with Drew Brees which for some reason went unnoticed but whatever).. So this year they aren't letting him air the ball out like he did in previous years which is really holding this offense back. And to Romo's defense, I watched EVERY game last year (via Sunday ticket) and even John Gruden pointed this out as well.. Out of the 18 interceptions last season, about 9-10 of those pics were not his fault(bouncing off receivers hands, running wrong routes etc). A prime example of letting the media dictate on how this teams plays is the Minnesota game this year.. They harped on the fact that we didn't run the ball but only 9times.. So then coming into the Saints game, we forced the run when we should have came out passing.

But I'm not saying Jason Garrett is a good play caller, but I think he's a better play caller for THIS offense than Bill Callahan

This I do agree with. Especially because our offensive line is better than last year. Garrett's play calling was a variation of "Air Coryell" which consists of long developing routes. Well, in order for those routes to develop, your offensive line has to protect the QB which we didnt last year. Fast forward to this year, Callahan calls more 'west coast offense' type plays which isn't necessary since the oline can protect better. Callhan would have been better calling plays last year and Garrett this year.

Blackboyfly, not a big deal but it was Josh Freeman the Giants beat, not Ponder . I think if Ponder plays that game, Giants lose. And as you said, they haven't played anyone special. I'm more worried about our run defense without Sean Lee but I think we still can pull it off.

Cowboys are 0-3 after a bye under Garrett btw...

Someone had the nerve to say that the NFL "spliced" audio to make Dez look good in the alleged tirade on the sidelines and that wasn't what "really went down."

Jerry jones said Jason Garrett will return as coach next year. How they finish will not impact that. guaranteed Garrett's return in 2014.

Garrett is a quality coach, primarily because he has an eye for talent. Wade Philips rode the wave of Parcells creation, much like Barry Switzer, then the team went into decline. Garrett is young and has been forced to learn on the job and while not improving as much as I'd like he is on pace for an 8-8 record and is in the running for possibly winning the division.

There isn't an available coach out there that I would take over Garrett. Garrett has to deal with an owner hiring the playcaller Callahan, giving megadeals to players like Jay Ratliff, Miles Austin, Marion Barber, etc.

I think it would be a mistake getting rid of Garrett early. He was hired too early and has had to learn on the job, don't get rid of him after you've gone through the rough learning curve with him.

Will Allen was a member of the Dallas Cowboys for all of five games, but the veteran safety thinks he knows why the team is not more successful.

"It was a very micromanaged atmosphere," Allen told Sirius XM NFL Radio on Tuesday night. "Everything was heightened. Everything was very tight. I didn't feel the relationship and the bonding between players and coaches. Maybe just the players. Or maybe just a few coaches and a few players.


"I think that's the rift that you get, and everybody wonders why Dallas can't finish, why Dallas isn't completing everything it needs to. The players are great. The players are tremendous. The coaches are some of the best in the business. You just need a cohesion there that allows players and coaches to really execute and do their jobs and it's not something hanging over their heads, that if they mess up you're going to get cut or you're not going to play or not going to do this. That's not fun for anybody."

Allen started the 5-5 Cowboys' first two games before he was replaced by rookie J.J. Wilcox. He didn't play in their third game but subbed in their fourth and fifth. He was released on Oct. 8 and has since rejoined the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had nine tackles in four games in Dallas to go with an interception and three passes defensed.

"I'm not sure what role it played in them releasing me, but they didn't feel like I, as if I, fit in their scheme or their organization," Allen said. "It's probably true. I have a lot of respect for the coaches there. I have a lot of respect even for Jerry Jones, but obviously it didn't fit. I wasn't the player they thought I would be or that I am."


For years, one of the criticisms of the Cowboys, with owner and general manager Jerry Jones so involved, was a lack of accountability. Veterans or high draft picks would be handed jobs and keep them based on status, not on performance.

Jason Garrett has attempted to change that attitude since taking over as coach. In addition to Allen's jettisoning, Orlando Scandrick continued to start over Morris Claiborne at cornerback once Claiborne's injured shoulder healed. Mackenzy Bernadeau was replaced by Brian Waters at right guard. Tight end Gavin Escobar, a second-round pick, has not been able to beat out James Hanna.

Allen said the atmosphere is different in Pittsburgh.

"Everybody's given a chance to prove themselves, given a chance to play together and the guys we truly sincerely believe in everyone," Allen said. "The coaches believe in the players. The players believe in the coaches, and you just see this even path now. If guys are consistently not performing, you're not going to be on the field. Obviously you're not going to play. But everybody is encouraging, everybody is uplifting, everybody is pushing for everybody's best. That's what you want. We understand that it's a business, but football is a business. Winning is our business. But if we're not a team, if we're not together in it all, then we have nothing. That's the mindset in Pittsburgh."

In six games with the Steelers, Allen has nine tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and one pass defensed.

now Allen should not have been cut, he's a quality back up, but he is not a starter, that made no sense, because right now Allen would be a much better player than Jeff Heath bar candy boy who is soft, so soft its not even amusing anymore

I am putting money on the Giants, I feel so dirty, but I know they are going to crush us.

Garrett is a decent coach, but these are the issues i've seen under his tenure

-Gameplans are very poor

-Players not put in best position to succeed using their skills or positives

-Failure to get elite WR (Dez) open, no moving him around or designed plays for him

-Failure to adjust mid game

-Players consistently fail to execute

-Sloppy football, mistakes and penalties

-Poor execution of plays that actually work

-Doesn't go back to what works, or sets teams up with something

-Over complicates things

-Doesn't seize opportunity on the field and off it (example taking play calling back)

-Poor time management

here are his positives (IMO)

-Dedicated and passionate coach

--At one time had a great offensive mind

-Young, can improve each season on experience learned

-Almost a Bellicheck approach towards media, doesn't give much info out, great aspect of his persona

-Excellent talent evaluator (may be better in a front office role)

-Keeps his cool

-Players seem to like him and respect him

-Very involved in overall team direction

-Good motivator

I was a big Garrett fan when we hired him, but he should probably get another year before they can him, i just think this team doesn't have the talent to succeed anymore

Not sold on Brian Billick but Dungy and Lovie Smith would be great choices if Gruden doesn't leave ESPN.

If we have to stick it out with Carrot-Top for another year, we better get a legit offensive coordinator.

I'm not sold on those guys being much better with this team given their track records, especially Del Rio. They are quaity coaches though and would be excellent alternatives if they would be willing to coach..

That's exactly what this teams needs, a WINNER! Someone with a proven track record. After a few 8-8 seasons, players will eventually stop buying into what you're preaching.
