THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

I feel that, do you go when they come to ny?

I'm in SF bay area I usually go to a game in dal one year and hit an away game the other but with the prices of flights now I will most likely just go to away games as it allows me to actually visit other parts of the US it's not worth it to fly in to dfw on Saturday night and fly out Monday morning anymore unless they are playing either San Fran or Oakland and a bunch of my homies are going and we can make a weekend out of it

Not taking any shots in my previous post just adding my .02

Oh I didn't take any offense to your previous comments not at all bro.

I've been to two games up here but it was the Parcells era loooooooong time ago. I'm dying to get down to the Mecca that is Cowboys or whatever the new name is of the stadium.

I wanna see Dez in his prime because he's my favorite player and I have to see that guy in person. I saw Sean Taylor in person and I'm a big U fan so he was my fav non Cowboy growing up and seeing a freak of nature like that live was something I'll never forget and I absolutely have to see Dez once live. Believe it or not I'm also dying to see Romo live because I tell you what when he's on that dude is a joy to watch. When he gets in a groove and a zone he's so fun to watch. It's one of the reasons I'm so tough on Tony because when I've seen that guy ball out it's amazing and he is probably one of the best quarterbacks I've ever watched. Some of the throws he makes are amazing. His deep ball and velocity are beginning to decline though.

I wanna see Tyron Smith live also because I vouched for that kid said he would be a all pro left tackle and he's well on his way there. Freak athletes like that are just so rare. Our OL is going to be a foundation and possibly one of the best units in football and two years ago I never thought I'd be saying that

That for sure about the line and when you do eventually go I would go on thanksgiving the tickets were pretty cheap (relatively) and buy early I went with a raider bosster club (charity group here for battered women) and the bought their tickets in June or July paid the same as I did but I sat 9 rows up at the 17 yardline they sat in the third deck I paid 235 each for my wife and I

Bought around this time that year

I believe face value on the ticket was 119 or 129 so it wasn't a huge markup for the first season

From a division rival, sucks to hear about Lee. He's one of the best LB's in the league when healthy. You want to win with every team at their best.

that's actually not too bad, what would kill me is the flight, travel and hotel

we play the Eagles on Thanksgiving this year right?

yeah thanks, agreed I believe he is one of the best LBs in the NFL, hands down, sucks he can't stay healthy

it's a huge loss, I can think of so many other players we could rather lose than Lee. Really if we lose Lee, Romo, Dez or Tyron Smith it could get ugly.

Yes the eagles and flights are becoming outrageous I fly "home" to Georgia every year and this year it was 70 more than I've ever paid not sure how steep it is flying out of ny but from here I can usually get to any part if the US for less than 4 out of sfo. 450 to fly to atl in three weeks most I've ever paid couldn't believe it

I'd like to see Bruce Carter take the jump in Lee's absence. Transition from a pure, fluid athlete to smart, productive football player.

it's crazy how his career has went

At UNC he was a stud, had amazing athleticism and still retained almost all of it even after his injury. When Lee went down in 2012, Carter IMO was the best player on defense that year other than Hatcher. He completely balled out at the ILB in the 3-4. One game that truly stood out was Atlanta. He was flying all over the field and there was this one pass to Julio Jones and he actually ran Julio down, it was amazing to see a LB that was probably 10-15 yards away from the play come out of nowhere to catch this beast WR.

With Carter like you said it isn't the physical or athletic stuff, that's all there and some. It's the mental side of the game he needs to get. If he can ever get his head right, I think we have a Pro Bowl caliber LB. In many ways Carter reminds me of Lavonte David. It's one of the reasons I thought he was best suited to play WILL LB in this 4-3 scheme because of his athleticism and we could use that speed and quickness to blitz him more.

As of right now, they want Carter to play outside. Who knows, maybe he plays inside but if he can take the starting job on the weakside, I would like to see Holloman as the MIKE, Hitchens as the SAM and Carter as the WILL. One position Dallas evaluates really well is LB. Even the LBs they didn't draft but wanted too, they just didn't have the picks to take them because they were used in trades, but guys like Navarro Bowman and Bobby Wagner were very high on their board. Dallas knows their LBs and it's actually one of the reasons I think Hitchins will be a good player. Same with Holloman, that kid is highly athletic and you saw that on tape, if he were bigger he probably would've went from the 2nd or 3rd round, but he is undersized so fell in the draft. In this Tampa scheme, Holloman could be a star because it is a system that ignores undersized players and looks for speed, exactly what Holloman is.

Well-said, my friend. I thoroughly enjoy watching Carter, David, Shazier, and Ayers play. Rooting for all four to make significant impact in 2014-2015.

Why tf does ESPN let Stephen A Smith disrespect us every time he talks football smh..

Could've had Manziel...........................

lol you guys know I wanted him so you know I thought it was a mistake passing on him

Dallas MUST draft a QB next year, no choice now

Meh.. Having the future of our line now pretty well set with the three young studs, now we can invest in a QB. I wanted Johnny too, but I will not argue with Jerry taking a top shelf offensive lineman that can play multiple spots.

Draft one next year. If Tony gets hurt, we'll be sitting top 5 ready to move.

I want Marriota, that would be amazing but that means we had a terrible season

I agree, I think Martin is really good and makes our OL young and beastly, but what if he isn't that good of an NFL player? That pick will go down as a major miss and failure, it's going to be interesting to see that play out. It's very very very similar to the Greg Ellis/Randy Moss thing.

Anyone going to a home game this year? Been thinking about the Saints/Texans/Giants/********/Cardinals. I am also contemplating going to Wembley stadium in London and seeing the Cowboys play Jacksonville. I've always wanted to see England so I figure this is killing two birds with one stone.

But at the same time, that AT&T stadium is :smokin

I've been trying to boycott going to games until they start playing better.
But some of the games this year are very tempting.

checkin in for week 4.

sunday night game vs. Saints.. cant get no betta!

hoping for a shootout in that one..!  staying downtown Dallas soo finding our way back and forth to Arlington should be fun!

Arlington ain't but 20 minutes from Dallas so you should be good.
Just looked at our schedule and the home games are wack.
Saints game is too early in the season.
