THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

So what's everyone expecting for Sunday? I see Denver winning by 6. As usual they'll keep it interesting until the end but Peyton will run the game clock out in the fourth before the O can get a real chance.

Expecting them to do what they always do, play up or down to the competition.
If we play a team that we don't fear we end up losing.
Team like Denver rolls into town and we get all hyped and try to prove that we belong in the discussion.
Then the following week we go right back to being average.
This is not what I would like to happen, but its what they have consistently shown us with Garrett as head coach.
Still believing we can go 11-5. Just gotta get our act together.

Look man I'm not even going to get gased up even if we beat Denver because I know deep down and inside they'll lose the following week there's no consistency with these boys I just won't let it get to me oh well maybe it's just me

The only thing we are consistent at is being inconsistent.

That being said, we getting this W. I'm already hype in the airport waiting for my flight

I guarantee if we somehow beat Denver we'll get blown out by Washington. Each time this team wins a game they think they can just show up to any other game and win.

Carr has been great since he got here

we should play man with our corners, Mo in man is really good

Safeties are still a problem. No one to ball hawk over the top, or cover the middle of the field. Also our coverage by LBs don't seem to be too well either.

Actually the whole thing is a problem.

Great front line that gets pressure, and keeps the running game out of it. But secondary that just has too many mental lapses, which is a reason we are toward the bottom in stopping the pass.

That's not true. Our safety play has probably been the most exciting development of the team this year. Church has been one of the best safety's in the league so far. And Wilcox has been better than what we had before. He'll be our ballhawk. Had a pick negated by a Hatcher penalty. The problem in our secondary honestly has been almost entirely Mo. He's given up around 250 yards alone so far that I can think of, probably more than that. Scandrick and Carr have been great.

Agree on all other points tho. No one wants to say it because of the respect we have for them but Sean Lee and Carter have been grade a garbage in coverage. That's a huge reason why we've been so bad against the pass. I believe they'll turn it around tho.

I don't think the safeties are that good. But you're right they are better than year's past. Roy Williams and beyond :x

Roy Williams tackles

Forget about Roy Williams, how about the two guys we started last year who haven't played a single defensive snap this season :smh:

it wouldn't surprise me if we pulled out a win tomorrow  we always seem to step it up against the higher competition, but then get complacent with everyone else. i have to respect denver & what they're doing, but i think we can make it interesting. im really hoping we run the ball more & consistently get dez involved throughout the game.

miles expected to be out again...

as for mo, im not turning on him yet... i think its still too early. he's still a young player & he's battling the shoulder injury. he does seem to have a problem with the new defense, but missing time in training camp / preseason will do that. im gonna continue to have patience with him

Yeah I'm not worried about Mo long term.

But this season I'm extremely worried .

Dude is one of the highest graded CBs coming out of college in the past two decades. He can learn how to play in a zone defense. But not during the season. He'll continue to struggle into training camp next year imo.

For what it's worth, Darren Woodson said Deion didn't know how to play zone when he came to the Cowboys.
He had played man coverage his entire career.

MPire if this is your first time in Dallas, welcome to the city.
I hope you're able to enjoy the game as much as you're going to enjoy the stadium.

So far so good this drive; just need to put it in the endzone.

wow, a formation and personnel package by us made a team call timeout

edit: they had to many people

Nice TD by Dez.

Memo to Bill Callahan, it's okay to target Dez outside the redzone too.
