Church was the highest rated safety on there for a few weeks but hes great against the run but suspect against the pass

True but I saw someone make a great point. Bernadeau, Claiborne, Allen, and Carter were the four worst ranked Cowboys and all of them were benched. I respect their rankings. Tho they can be OC when negating players for penalties etc

Obviously no stat tells the complete story. Just good to finally see production from some offensive line investments.

I'm already crunk for Sunday’s game.
RG1-3 is healthier and that offense should look a little better.
If we don't put 400+ yards on that defense it will be a disappointment.
I want us to win in grand fashion. 30+ points and plenty of highlights.
I don't care if we win 34-31, just get a win!

Frederick isn't a bad player, he's going to be probably one of the better centers in the league but I just disliked how they handled that first round

I have to watch more tape on him, but eye test during games he's looked pretty damn good

The Frederick pick is pretty underrated I think. As much as I dislike Jerry, I have to give him credit for that pick. He's only a rookie and he actually anchors the entire line, making adjustments/calls which hasn't been done by our center in quite a while.

I didn't like the fact we took him in the first round but he along with Ron Leary and now Waters has made this line much better than last years.

With that being said, our line is only 'good' at best and that's still a reach.

I may be in the minority here, but to hell with Miles. He's a progress stopper. Him coming back to practice only means less snaps/opportunities for Cole Beasley and Terrence Williams. These guys want to prove themselves and now they have to take a back seat because Mr. Hammy is back. I'm praying Miles sees less snaps.

Dwayne Harris had shown flashes of greatness last year and he has severely dissappointed me thus far [this year]. Dez wide left, Terrence wide right, and Beasley in the slot should be our 'base' shotgun formation. Miles only comes in on spread 4 formations and 5 WR sets.

Guys like Harris who were starters in college have a hard time adjusting to lesser roles.
He has been consistent on special teams and hasn't turned over the ball a lot.
Miles might lose his position sooner than later.
He needs to restructure or take a pay cut so we can use that money on defense.

I've never been on the Miles needs to go wagon... but I'm done with him now. Really thought he was going to come on strong this year. Sunday was the best I've ever seen Dallas look on defense.... w/o Miles. Like Mpire said, he's only going to hold back Beasley the Harris and Williams. Williams played a better game Sunday than we've seen from Miles in 21 games. Miles just isn't worth the money that we're paying him now. Garret has been quick to release older underachieving players so it wouldn't surprise me to see him gone next year. Shame, Miles did alot for this team before the hamstring problems.

Demarcus Ware, Morris Claiborne, Orlando Scandrick, Jason Hatcher, Sean Lee, Bruce Carter, Brandon Carr, Barry Church. I do this team has top level defensive talent. Problem is you can't count on any of those guys outside of Lee and Carr maybe to show up 16 games a season. Even Ware has stretches of games when you forget he's on the field, he's on one now. And the only guys who show up every single week on offense are Romo and Dez. Those inconsistencies are what leads to mediocrity for this team in my opinion.


And I can't speak for everyone but I'm fine with discussions from non fans(even negative) in the thread as long as it's not biased/blind hate/bashing. Like that emoji using Saints fan who popped up a few days ago

  yeah that dude is something else.

I think when you say you can't count on those guys, that's my point.  Lee, Ware in the past, and Carr.  I mean defensive talent is all about consistency ultimately.  

Romo is the most consistent player on the whole squad which is why the blame he gets is ridiculous.

Romo has definitely been performing this year. I feel he is one key element away from being a SB winning QB and that's his killer instinct. I also feel like the O-line needs to give him more confidence by protecting better. And our backfield needs to become more of a threat. That lost against Denver was tough to watch and the INT was tough too but better pass protection and we win the game.

On a side note, its interesting watching the Giants game last night and the announcers saying "That wasn't Eli's fault" despite the pass being too high for the TE. After the commercial break he did come back and say "That was Eli's fault" but its interesting how quick people are to put the blame elsewhere. Had that been Romo...

Garrett basically said if Austin plays Sunday night he will get his usual workload which means less snaps for TWill unless we have another shootout like the Denver game.

A trend I've been noticing since Garrett became HC is when we throw the ball A LOT, like last week, we usually come back the follow week with a conservative offensive plan and try to establish the run. I expect to see Murray have at least 20 carries vs the Deadskins.

^^ T Will will still get his opportunities since he lines up opposite of Dez. Miles is generally in the slot, especially now more than ever with his hammy. It will be Cole Beasely that will see a significant decrease in snaps.

People love to crap on Room. Eli is a made man by winning titles, people get nieve and put blinders on when talking about him. He so far this year has been one of the worst QBs in the league this year.

Eli has played like trash this year and should be getting more scrutiny then he has. However winning titles will give you somewhat of a pass as opposed to someone who hasn't.

Alot of the crap romo gets is warranted although some of it is blind hate. Romo has been the starter since 2006 and I can point out quite a few games where a boneheaded turnover and the most inopportune time by him has cost the cowboys a game. Everyone makes mistakes but his will be magnified more considering he has a track record for making them at bad times and because he plays for arguably the NFL's most high profile franchise. If romo played for the bills, aside from local media scrutiny we wouldn't hear much about him.

However considering this is 8th season as the starter and he's about 33 you start to realize that maybe he's not going to learn from his mistakes turnover wise. Romo is a great statistical qb and if going off stats alone he would be a top 10 qb. However stats only tell half the story.

Had they won last Sunday it would be regarded as romos career signature win and the cowboys making a statement that there for real. Instead one bad play erased a great statistical performance and people will view them as the same ol cowboys. Is it fair? No but that's just how it is.

Romo gets the cowboys to no mans land every year. 8-8 where its not good enough to make the playoffs but not bad enough to get a high draft pick and that's that worst place to be. If this season ends 8-8 and they don't win a division that's there's for the taking then perhaps the cowboys should consider rebuilding and aside from keeping dez and ware clean house for the most part and start fresh. Its been the same ol same ol from them.

The funny thing about Eli and Romo is that on this site in particular, it's ALWAYS Romo's fault when the Cowboys turn the ball over, but it's NEVER Eli's fault when the Giants turn it over. It's pretty funny how that works on here.
