THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

Did Mettenberger from LSU get picked up by anyone?

Titans if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sold on him at all to be honest.

Oh ok I was just wondering, would be nice to have a qb ready if something happens to romo this season. I don't trust weeden

I'm not sold on Weeden at all. I have no faith in him what so ever  ... Like I said before, we should've snatched AJ Mccarron in the 4th or 5th. Jerry's hatred for Alabama must run pretty deep  :smh:

 nah IMO put him on another team he showcases his full talent. Not saying he's the next star but I think he can be a solid QB in the league. ANYTHING is better than Weeden at this point.

The Cowboys will have the second youngest Oline in the league (based on projected starters) behind Jacksonville if Leary starts this season, will have the sixth youngest if Bernadeau starts.

Philly ranks 31st :smokin :nthat: :pimp:

Washington ranks 27th :smokin :nthat:

NYG ranks 24th :smokin

The Oline was already incredible last year. When you add in Martin, and take into account that the line as a whole is so young, no reason the offense shouldn't be consistent over the next 6+ years.

Granted the team is smart about the QB situation and draft one fairly high soon , which I fear they won't

:smh:

Call me crazy but I really don't think our Dline will be all that bad. If Spencer is healthy and Lawrence pans out that DE rotation can be decent. And with what Rod was able to do with the scrubs we had last year I can't wait to see what he does with the new guys and the ones who are now healthy.

Can't be any worse right!?!?!?!

DL could be better who knows

Guy feeling, Lawrence could be a stud in a year or two.

OL looks very good best in years

The D Line was basically just Hatcher and Selvie toward the second half of last season.

Ware demanded attention obviously and that opened up things for other guys, but because of his injuries you can literally count the impact plays he made after week 6 on one hand (try it :smh:).

I don't think Melton will be as good as Hatcher, but if healthy, I think Spencer will have more of an impact than Ware did last season. Bass will help, I think Lawrence will be good and can eventually be a 12+ sack guy, then you got Crawford back and all the other minor additions. I think the line will be decent.

Now I'm not saying they'll be a top 10 unit, but I don't think they'll be a bottom 10 unit either

They should be better, the defense was so awful last year that they gotta be better right? Lol

IDK I just have a feeling Lawrence is going to be a stud. JPP had similar measurables where he didn't wow you but you put on the tape and you saw the potential, I think this kid is gonna be real good.

We're not getting the credit we deserve for our draft.
Monte Kiffin's first real draft, and he nailed it.
If DeMarcus Lawrence were playing in the SEC or ACC he goes first round.
I'm still trying to figure out what the huge difference is between Calvin Pryor and Ahmad Dixon, the safety we took in the 7th round.
Not going to make a season prediction, because our offensive strategy is so unpredictable.

One can ballhawk and has range one doesn't. Dixon is basically a linebacker, that dude has basically very few safety qualities that's why he went in round seven. He also has poor decision making he's reckless.

With that being said he's a thumper and worthy of a backup strong Saftey/nickel LB role.

If he gained some weight I seriously think he could be a NFL starting LB

LOL idk bro idk

I've been begging for a legit ballhawk for years

Wilcox I see as more of a SS but a potential good one but we need a FS badly

How many ballhawk safeties are there though 4 in the whole league... I understand the frustration but if they're not the real deal it's not worth a high first and if they are then they are a top 10 tallent and drafted as such

They traded away from one last year Eric Reid

Dallas can't evaluate safety talent, they have Reid a second round grade that's crazy.

The defense we have in place doesn't require a ball hawking safety.
And when I watched some of Pryors highlights all I really saw was him coming up making hits.
Monte Kiffin is looking for a John Lynch type safety and Dixon seems to fit that role.

Again I think it's a matter of where you played and not how you played.
Three players from Louisville went in the first round.
Not a single player from University of Texas was drafted.

Kiffin keeps talking about Seattle, we wanna be Seattle bla bla bla

well if you wanna be Seattle get a FS

we play single high safety in the Tampa 2, we don't have a single high safety on the roster

also, in a year we may not even be playing the same defense

this team needs to get a ballhawk, i've been saying that for years, better safety play would increase the turnovers and improve our secondary

Thank you, so frustrating :smh:

If Church goes down our safeties are Heath, Wilcox, and Johnson who's never played an NFL snap :smh:

You know what's crazy

They could've taken Reid then got Fred in the second and TW in the 3rd. That would've been a haul.
