I don't care what yall say, we played horrible. Melo out and it's like this team is no good unless Kidd is playing 30+ minutes. I just overall did not like how the team played. Novak has been neutralized, and JR is really a player to be a boost off the bench, after that I don't know what kind of players we got sometimes. Letting Dudley go off?

Copeland did his thing and stepped up, Camby showed signs of '99 the way he was rebounding, and Kidd controlled the game when he was out there (I still expect him to miss the way he shoots so I'm not surprised opponent's still leave him open).

Hopefully he doesn't play.

Maybe we can see these other players step and do some work. A lot will be riding on JR again though.
Luckily he came through for us again with the way he made key clutch shots (imo the harder the shot the higher the chance he makes it laugh.gif ) and his defense pimp.gif

I'll take this win but I can't be happy how we let teams come back or play down to them. Not even looking forward to playing the Kings. Think this game gave me a headache mean.gif

I hope so. Bum *** coach. Been calling for him to be fired for a while now. Caught me off guard when I saw the Bucks had a better record. After Avery gone, Billy should be next. This Nets team has no bench and obviously Joe aint no #1 option, I mean 20+ games in to the season and they talking about managing his minutes like he 39.
Zik, we played without 4 starters and sheed. Any way we got this W was going to be a positive
post #8318 of 28831

Easily lost in all this is JR having another all-around decent game. 6 Reb, 5 Ast, 5 Stl, 1 block.

11-27 from the field but you're gonna get that from him on nights like these with all the guys out. Efficiency isn't exactly his strong suit so that doesn't bother me.

Woody challenged JR and told him he wanted to see him flourish as a better overall player. JR's responded well thus far. smokin.gif

J.R. def has been playing amazing basketball, for virtually the entire season.

Even more amazing that he's been performing this well with THAT contract. Praises due to Grunwald for getting him at such a deal.

Tonight was another example of what a lot of us said about JR before the season.. he'll make you throw your remote and curse his name with some idiotic plays, shots, etc., but then he'll pull your team through a lull with a hot streak or he'll hit a retarded game winner.

And at the price they're paying him? I'll take it six out of seven days a week.

Safe to say we easily have one of the best steals in the entire league with JR's contract

Do we have JR's bird rights if he chooses to opt out after this year? I know he has a player option on the 2nd year. 4/36? 4/32? This guy's relationship with Woody is so key too.

Yep, pimp.gif

The Knicks will have Smith's early Bird rights after next season, meaning they can exceed the salary cap to re-sign the shooting guard if he decides to decline the 2013-14 player option.

I'm happy for Cope, man.

Just watched him in the post-game interview on NBA TV Game Time.

Seems like a real humble and hardworking kid.

They'd never hire Sloan. Sloan despises Deron and wont ever be on the same team with him ever again. Dude coached in Utah for 20+ years and Deron came in and ran him out.

Phil is a possibility for Brooklyn though, but I don't see it happening. He wants total control of a team he's on and have final say in all decisions. Dude also wants to be an extension of a legacy with a team too. That's why LA didn't hire him. Egos were a problem.

With Prokorov and all the people in Brooklyn, I doubt they let Phil have that much power. Not to mention the whole Jay-z thing. I just don't see Phil fitting into that culture.

Besides all of that, considering this in a complete basketball point of view--Phil will only coach a champonship ready team i.e. Miami, LA, NY, Clippers and Chicago. Still a possibility though.

last night was 1 of our worst games but thanks to JR, we pulled through. I was glad during the summer when the Knicks re-signed him. I knew he was going to be more of a blessing than a hinderance. When that man is on, he is ON smokin.gif

Good to see Camby getting in some work, 9 rebounds in 13 minutes smokin.gif

And J. Kidd leading the floor like the veteran he is smokin.gif

Man I appreciate JR and Woody's relationship. The respect JR has for his coach is turning him into the beast that he always could have been. I liked his game when he was in Denver, he was just a knucklehead. Now he's showing maturity on the court and he should be a top candidate for most improved/6th man with Melo MVP and Woody COTY.
^ This. I'm happy for earl and the way the Knicks are playing to shut people up, but if we would've had this earl in Denver and the leadership melo has now since he could always fill it up they could've won the whole thing since they gave two games away in the series but with the said 21-8 is smokin.gif
