Sup Dom. Can you tell me how long you spend on preparation  (taping off) ?
Hey,

It really depends, taping doesnt take that long, maybe at max 10 mins?

Its really taking the old paint off and making sure the midsole is as smooth as possible that takes the most time

Maybe max 2-3 hours (with breaks of course lol)

Great work man

Have 2questions
you use retrobrite to whiten midsoles and icy soles, correct?

Do you need to use sunlight or lights for midsole whitening?

Thanks in advance

still a miracle worker i see.
Bro where have you been!!!

Thanks man!

Yes and Yes

In my experience, the best results have come from using sunlight or uv Lights

Usually whitening midsoles wont take as long as unyellowing soles

bro the story is too long to even attempt to tell lol but i guess you can say i've had some life changing events
I hope all is well...

I think I can speak for the whole sneaker art forum when I say we missed you!

and Happy New years to you and the fam

Hey peabrain I just have one last question, sorry for kinda bugging you but well since OxiClean isn't really available locally here I asked my mom to get some oxiclean when she was in the us. Well she got this instead of the powder ones. Do you have any idea how much of this i'll need for the retrobrite solution ? Do you think a teaspoon would do ? Thanks man !!

Im actually not sure if you can use liquid oxiclean instead of the powder form

I've never seen anyone do it before

You can try it though, I would recommend on a pair of beaters first, maybe just use a half a teaspoon and see what effect it has

Great work Peabrain on the restorations, the fact that you are active in this thread with the suggestions, answering of questions, and general help is amazing.

Kudos to you sir.

Nice work on the aqua 8s back there. I actually just purchased the "collectors edition" concord and aqua angelus paints this morning to restore my midsoles which are in the same condition as the before pic. Did you use these paints or mixed your own colors? You use a brush, correct? Did you apply any kind of base under coat or just paint the aqua and concord directly onto the black midsole?

Thanks in advance

Collector's edition?? That's pretty cool!!

I need to paint the cracked soles on my black/cement and white/cement 3s. That's just black and white right?? No special mix or anything?

Thanks EM,

I did use the angelus collector edition paints, they match up perfectly

I also didnt lay down a base coat, I just painted the aqua and concord directly on the midsole

Definitely!

Its about time they decided to cater to the people that use their paints the most --> Sneakerheads! lol

And yea, just by the black and white, nothing fancy, and get the smallest bottle available, you wont need much paint for 1 pair

Would you use grey of grey taupe to repaint coll grey 3s?
Silver for sharks teeth on 99 Blk Met Vs?
Do you use angelus finisher after painting or Krylon Matte which is better in ur opinion?

Get both grey and grey taupe, you might need to mix the 2 to get that cool grey colour

And Pewter sounds about right, just make sure you speckle it after!

I dont use any finisher but all angelus products are pretty much solid so I would go with the angelus finisher

Those raging bulls and spacejams are crazy !!!

Followed you on IG

Dam nice work dude! Do you take orders? I'm thinking that one of these days I might ship a pair of beaters to you to fix up. I'm in Canada too so we wouldn't have to deal with import taxes and such.
