Ok so I currently have a 16gb sd card in my phone and got a 32gb card last week. So I want to move all my music (1200 songs) and photos to the new card. How do I go about achieving this?

I dont have a computer of my own at the moment so I tried to see if I could save everything on my dad's laptop and then move it to the 32gb card but that didn't work. Either I'm doing something wrong, or its just the fact that my pop's laptop is old and outdated.

And the other thing I wanted to try was to save the files on my phone's internal storage and then do the transfer that way with no computer's involved. But I can't seem to find a way to do that because it doesnt allow me to save music on the phone's memory. Guess u gotta be rooted for that. Whomp :/

Suggestions anyone?

You have to format your 32gb micro sd to Fat32 first. I would suggest saving all your files on your dads laptop and then once you have formatted the SD card you can transfer all the data to the 32gb sd card.

If your dad's computer is over 5 years old (which it sounds like) then 16 gigs will be a lot to store if he already has stuff on there.

Try buying a micro usb card converter so you can use it as a normal usb drive. You can find them on ebay for about $2. Just stick the new card in your dad's laptop, right click on the card and then click "format" and set it to FAT32. Once that's complete, plus in your phone to another USB port and just copy the songs to the new card. Make sure your phone even supports a 32 gig card. Some phones max out at 16.
