What are your thoughts on the Nintendo Wii U Pro Controller?

I highly prefer xb1/360 controllers. Will that preference hinder my experience with the pro controller or the opposite?

Do a lot of games such as nintendo exclusives use this?

Pro controller is excellent. I'm using one as we speak. In my opinion it's the true controller for the wii U.

Anyone wanna run some smash?

Pro controller is okay but something about the location of the analog sticks bother me, not sure what. I think maybe it's the length between them. Hopefully Nintendo makes the GC adapter compatible with all Wii U games later.

Mario Kart 8 > Smash 4

Smash bros is an amazing multiplayer experience. I had 7 friends over my house who all play smash bros and I had the most fun I've had with a multiplayer game since goldeneye 64 but Mario Kart is just breathtaking. The tracks are way too creative. It's like Mario galaxy on wheels

difference in entertainment value for smash and cart is the way the game rewards success is totally opposite

in cart its boring as hell when you dominate since you're just sitting in first getting useless items and having to dodge a shell once in a while

meanwhile the not as successful players are having the time of their lives battling it out for positions

in smash if you're in first you're probably having the time of your life dominating everyone 

while if you're not doing too well then you can feel helpless at times

ill take the game that punishes you for doing poorly any day of the week

Mario kart is gorgeous but i find myself bored whether I'm playing alone or with friends. Smash is the most fun I've ever had with any game. Got 8 player going the other day. Using every controller you can think of. Brings me back to the good old days. Talking trash and actually playing together.

Wii-U next system purchase. Currently have 360 & PS3 // I need Smash Bros, and that new Zelda in my life. But what I am really really waiting is for X online. Hopefully it will be the closest thing to my PSO (Phantasy Star Online) Dreamcast days as humanly possible. I kind of consider the Wii-U to be a next-gen dreamcast. I think it's comfortable to say that, especially w/ the controller or wii-mote, being just as awesome as a DC Controller equipped w/ VMU back in that time.

There is no domination in Mario kart 8. Staying 1st for a whole lap is damn near impossible because every weapon is aimed at you. Dodging weapons is only 50%. The other 50 comes from navigating the courses in the most efficient way because their are multiple routes.

Smash is still highly competitive especially 1 on 1 and just an absolute blast multiplayer but it's not the same thrill of being 12th place on lap 3/3 against 11 other online players and making 1st place at the last second because you were in the zone at the last second.

I think smash woulda been able to give you a similar feeling if 8 player smash was online

when you have like 80% damage and one life left and the other player has 2 lives left with 20 dmg and you lock in and end up winning > coming from behind in mario cart

That's the only gamecube game I own. I'd get rid of it, if I could just have it digitally.

Yup, once you go into Wii mode it will recognize all Wii games.

There are no gamecube games on the eshop, the way the Wii U is set up makes it hard to emulate GC games, at least from what I've heard. It's similar to how come the 3DS doesn't have GBA games aside from the ones for ambassadors.

So, I have a wii u now. Got the SM 3D bundle + Smash bros. It's pretty awesome.

The gamepad is great, but doesn't seem well suited for smash. need the pro pad or gamecube adapter.

Not sure what I want next, MK or DK.

Got captain toad! I work 9-5 and have other distractions so I really like games where i can just jump in, play 20 or 30 minutes and jump out. Played the first 3 levels and I really like it. Its funny because I was annoyed when I was forced to play these games in 3d world. Probably because I wasn't ready for puzzle levels. It's different when you choose to do something and the game gives you something unexpected. But yeah I'm enjoying it

I gotta be the only one who thinks galaxy is unplayable. Call me spoiled but that control scheme is broken. A remake using the gamepad I would give it a shot but throw would you collect the star things? The things that you aimed at with the wii controller. Hated that ****.
