Why do people consistently knock Nintendo for having "expensive" games or or not providing value. What are ya'll drinking? This idea makes no sense, especially coming from a sneaker board where most of us here buy or spent hundreds of dollars on sneakers that rarely go on sale. Companies only discount products that don't sell. Nintendo provides a quality product, they sell really well. You get what you pay for. Simple as that.

Put it this way. Nintendo games are like AF1's and Timbs. They may sway in popularity a little as trends change, but they are a staple and consistently sell no matter what.

If you really think about it you get the MOST value from Nintendo games. Look at the after market for old NES or SNES games. The N64's games are becoming more and more expensive as time goes by.
Late reply:

I own: wii, wiiu, ds, SSBM-4

I've owned: gba, sp, gamecube,

That being said, I'm not saying either of those things. I don't believe the notion that most nintendo games retain value because of their quality. Reggie has said this in the past. I'm more inclined to believe that Nintendo doesn't do discounts that often, regardless of sales.

One example: Hyrule warriors is $50 new. While 3 similar games(dynasty warriors/samurai orochi/samurai warriors) that came out around the same time or newer are priced $10-$20 lower.

I'd be hard pressed to find qualities of HW that makes it's price justifiable, compared to it's nextgen competition. Nintendo's prices don't need to be justified. But I ASSUME m$/$ony make comparable gaming investments and their 1st party game prices are more competitive than Nintendo.

We're in the general forum, some of us haven't copped kicks in years.
Nintendo is probably one of the only gaming company who gives you real value day one. You can actually buy your game day one and not have to worry about it being put in the bargain bin a few weeks later. A lot of other companies are pulling the flim flam and have ya'll buying half assed games for $60. Just look at the debacle that is Street Fighter V on the PS4...

So no, I don't think the games are overpriced. You get what you pay for and Nintendo still makes some of the best games in the business. And if you count for inflation, video games in general are a lot cheaper than they were 20 years ago. The price for your average game back in the 90's is still relatively the same price you pay today. $50-$60... Think about how much more we pay for a movie ticket or even a gallon of milk nowadays compared to back in the day.

I'm not saying that the games are overpriced. I'm saying that Nintendo's competitors' prices are more...competitive.
WiiU was $300 day one. They've yet to discount it.

To be fair, the deluxe set was $350 at launch, but it dropped to $300 a couple years ago. The basic 8GB set was $300, but I believe Nintendo stopped making those.

I didn't take that into consideration.

Don't know how real that controller is or the NX for that matter. I still can't see Nintendo entering the next console gen so soon.

In other news, picked up my Roy amiibo today

In my opinion the Gamecube was Nintendo's last great system

The Gamecube had a great library and decent controller

The Wii and Wii U are eh to me

I bought both only for Smash Brothers

The controller is not even in its finally stage.

We are good.

But dragon Quest X and XI coming to NX

Was this confirmed? I know DQ XI was announced for PS4 and 3DS. I could car less about DQ X since it's an MMO.
