I have never bought an Xbox or Playstation
You can cop this on xbox or win10.

As for Nintendo going 3rd party or strictly mobile, I highly doubt that. Their core business is strong and they have a great corporate philosophy and brand. What many of ya'll fail to realize is this console war stuff is not real. They're a profitable company and have been for years. Just becasue you didn't like their last few consoles or becasue the lost a "war" doesn't mean they didn't earn a strong profit.
It's been documented that both microsoft and sony tried to partner with nintendo to release a game console.
I'd assume pride would have something to do with nintendo not wanting to partner now.

Best Buy deals for my Best Buy members

Prices with GCU

Super Mario Maker (Nintendo Wii U) $23.99
Star Fox Zero (Nintendo Wii U) $23.99
Xenoblade Chronicles X (Nintendo Wii U) $23.99
Yoshi's Woolly World (Nintendo Wii U) $23.99

Copped Mario Maker for $25 after tax. Unfortunately my local BB didn't have it so I had to ship it. I was gonna cop Xenoblade X but I'm sure it'll drop again during Black Friday.

Can't see Sonic Mania getting a physical release so I sure it's just the case that Nintendo haven't announced the successor to the E-Shop yet. I think Sonic is one of the few third party franchises that sell well on Nintendo machines.

Leaning towards grabbing a 3DS and getting back into this pokemon ****. I dont care how old I get, this **** taught me to read lol. I havent played any since emerald though.

Probably gonna scoop up Y since it seems like people like that generation a lot from what Ive read. Considering Omega Ruby too but I probably won't have time between now and November when the new games drop to finish both.

So anyway.... Is it a foregone conclusion that you should buy the XL? Portability isnt really a concern. Ive never had either in hand.

I see the 20th anni pokemon versions are just the regular 3DS...disappointing.

Any other must grab game recommendations? Ill grab super smash of course. Im wayyyy out of the Nintendo loop. Im talking gamecube days lol. Sup with Animal Crossing

Deff grab a xl. I just borrowed my buddy's 3ds and Pokemon y, already had beaten x but sold my stuff last year. Forgot how fun this game was.
Are there actual differences between the games now. I remember Blue and Red only had different Pokémon, everything else for the most part was the same.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I been watching Pokémon Indigo League with my son and I want to get back into it but I haven't played since RBY days. I'm also waiting to see what Nintendo has up their sleeves as far as a new handheld. I'm not copping another 3DS if they have a new handheld dropping soon.

Repped both of you. Might have to take advantage of that best buy deal but assuming its a no go for preorders lol

I just read a comparison article and I like the fact that the 3DS has the colored buttons, matte finish, and better pixel density over the XL. But of course im a grown man with an iphone 6 plus so more room and a bigger screen has value as well. Probably going to end up hitting gamestop tomorrow and scooping one or the other unless I find an online deal/bundle I like.

But yea, this pokemon go **** reeled me back in. Love the games and the new graphics and stuff look really cool

You might be looking at the "new" 3DS if it has color buttons similar to the SNES controller. Funny thing is Pokémon Go in addition to watching Pokémon with my kid got me wanting to play but I have no desire to actually play pokemon go

Yea I figure might as well get the "new" version unless theres a good reason not to. Theres so many different versions of this damn console it shouldnt be this hard lol.

It looks like the 20th anniversary pokemon edition is not easy to find and i dont plan on paying resale lmao

I have a XL...and i wish id gotten the regular version.

Yeah the screen is bigger but they didnt up the resolution so certain games can look pixalated.

If you don't care about the 3D feature, the 2DS is cheap and surprisingly comfortable. I'm blasting Pokemon Yellow at the moment, and Fire Emblem Fates Birthright just arrived in the mail. Good times.

Wait is the standard New 3DS not available in America?

Yeah the screen is bigger but they didnt up the resolution so certain games can look pixalated.

This and the glossy finish of the New XL might be the deciding factor in grabbing the New 3DS. I dont want to lose the visuals

Nintendo's upcoming NX will be a portable, handheld console with detachable controllers, a number of sources have confirmed to Eurogamer.

On the move, NX will function as a high-powered handheld console with its own display. So far so normal - but here's the twist: we've heard the screen is bookended by two controller sections on either side, which can be attached or detached as required.

2
Then, when you get home, the system can connect to your TV for gaming on the big screen.

A base unit, or dock station, is used to connect the brain of the NX - within the controller - to display on your TV.

For more on the console's power, Digital Foundry has a deep-dive look at the chip Nintendo has chosen as the centrepiece of NX, according to numerous well-placed sources: Nvidia's powerful Tegra mobile processor.

NX will use game cartridges as its choice of physical media, multiple sources have also told us.

Considering NX's basis as a handheld first and foremost, the choice may not come as too much of a surprise - although we have heard the suggestion Nintendo recommends a 32GB cartridge, which is small when considering the size of many modern games.

Naturally, we expect digital game downloads will also be available. We were told Nintendo considered but then decided against making a system which supported digital downloads only.

1
NX will be powered by Nvidia's Tegra mobile processor.
It's not the first time cartridge-based media has been mooted for NX. Back in May, eagle-eyed fans spotted The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's trademark included cartridge-based games. This was a change from Nintendo's usual wording for home console trademarks, which only refer to digital downloads and discs.

Due to the radical change in hardware design and internal technology, we've been told by one source that there are no plans for backwards compatibility.

Another source said the system would run on a new operating system from Nintendo. It won't, contrary to some earlier rumours, simply run on Android.

Inside the NX, as stated above, the system will harness Nvidia's powerful mobile processor Tegra. Graphical comparisons with current consoles are difficult due to the vastly different nature of the device - but once again we've heard Nintendo is not chasing graphical parity. Quite the opposite, it is sacrificing power to ensure it can squeeze all of this technology into a handheld, something which also tallies with earlier reports.

Finally, we've heard from one source that NX planning has recently moved up a gear within Nintendo ahead of the console's unveiling, which is currently slated for September.

After the confused PR fiasco of the Wii U launch, the company is already settling on a simple marketing message for NX - of being able to take your games with you on the go.

3
NX is set to launch alongside Zelda - but what else?
Nintendo always designs its hardware to show off specific game concepts - and it remains to be seen how the system will showcase the next Mario, or even how the NX version of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - the only first-party game confirmed so-far - may differ when played on the device.

Previously, however, we've heard reports of various Wii U games reappearing as updated NX ports - Splatoon and Smash Bros. have both been mooted. And then there's Pikmin 4, which Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed to Eurogamer just over a year ago.

"Nintendo has not made any new official announcements regarding NX which is due to launch in March 2017," a Nintendo spokesperson told Eurogamer when contacted about this story. "As such [we're] unable to comment on the various rumours and speculations circulating."

A Link Between Worlds is a really exceptional game IMO. Then you got Ocarina Of Time and Majora's Mask. Super Mario 3D Land is really good as well but NSMB2 was a bit disappointing for me.

Just went to 3 diff stores. Since Pokemon Go came out they cant keep these in stock.

All sold out at the first gamestop. Found one online at Walmart. They had pokemon X but not Y so had to go to another gamestop to get Y. So I ended up with...

New Nintendo 3DS XL, Pokemon Y and Omega Ruby, gamestop power adapter

Sucks they dont sell the New standard 3DS in the states but im pretty excited

I played ocarina of time last year and simply couldn't get into it. That was the first time i ever played, and the controls were just too dated. I had no nostalgia. Just didn't enjoy it.

Trying to get into 3d zelda again. What is a better introduction? Twilight Princess or windwaker?

I'm surprised to read that you didn't enjoy the controls. I've always felt that the Ocarina Of Time controls are timeless and still hold up today. What was it about the controls that you didn't like? The Z button lock-on system is really accurate, the combat system is a bit basic but still fun and the auto-jump is quite useful. OoT is the greatest game of all time on any system.

Wind Waker is by far the easiest Zelda game so I'd play that one, but the sailing towards the end of the game becomes tiresome. Twilight Princess on WiiU is great but more difficult. Get them both on WiiU, they're gorgeous.

Maybe it was the graphics, who knows. I just felt like i had no idea what the **** was going on. I gave it like 5 hours. Was not feeling it even though i found it charming. It felt super dated. Like that weird playstation 1/ N64 3d stuff where they were still figuring it out. Felt obtuse.

I def will go with the easier one.
