I just want a Nintendo that focus' on the hardware and what not. I'm not buying a system to carry around and use those small controllers. Playing 2k with 3 buttons looks so lame. Just give me something I can sit down and play on a tv.

This.

I don't do handhelds for gaming and it looks like that's what it is.

I would need to see more, but is the selling point the portability of the unit?

It looks like another Nintendo console with Mario, Mario Kart and Zelda.

Wii-U didn't sell and Nintendo's strong point with respects to hardware is their handhelds so this is consolidating it all into one. A hybrid device that is handheld and console.

Helps their dev teams too since there's only one device to develop for so expect to see more first party titles.

Only drawbacks i can think of is the device will be weaker than the other 2 consoles and it's a bit larger than normal handhelds but like I said before it should get more first party titles.

To me it can just be used as a home console if you dont want to use it on the go...get a pro controller and bam!

but i like the concept...im in

^Yeah, I don't think I'd be taking it out to public to play.

But I could see the benefit when my wife would want to watch TV and I can play on the tablet screen...But we'll see.

Hopefully the first party games are worth considering a first day purchase.

Well it's interesting to say the least.

Any news on backwards compatibility? If it's all cartridge based now then I probably shouldn't hold my breath.

Is this gonna kill the 3DS? In either case I expect a solid, well-built device with good battery life that'll probably come in under the PS5 and XBOXwhatever in terms of processing power.

I was expecting something more revolutionary though. I predict that there'll be a VR headset attachment released in the future. That's the next wave for sure.

I see. I guess I'm not really their demographic anymore. The Wii hardly got any play time out of me and I completely passed on the Wii U. The only way I'll scoop up the Switch is with a solid Zelda and Mario game.

Damn, gotta wait til march, but its good to see confirmed 3rd party lists again, remember reading magazines back in the gap when new systems would come out

The new Zelda is confirmed and you're bound to get a good Mario game.

Nintendo's back.

Definitely copping this. Not paying retail but I'm sure I will find a way around that by holiday 17.

This system looks insane. Depending on what launch titles are I'd be tempted to cop day 1.
