Nintendo had nothing to do with Chrono Trigger but okay.

You do know a sequel to Chrono Trigger came out for PS1 though?

Wii had the best JRPGS of the current generation too, so Wii U is going to be one the last resorts to get your JRPG fix. Creator of Final Fantasy is working on his next big RPG series for Nintendo.

I wasn't able to get one last night. The lines were longer then I thought. I'll try again today and if I don't I guess I'm going to have to wait a month or so.

I'm dying to play that New Super Mario Brothers. I was reading ALL of the reviews and the verdict is it's one of the best platformers to come out in the last 10 years.

besides the fact that it uses the gamepad, I want to know what are the main differences between batman arkham city armored editon and the ps3/360 version?are there any? someone mentioned that the wii-u version of batman arkham city is the best one.

selling out / backordered / ebay prices are horrible arguments for this.
all those 3 can be accounted for a couple of things.
You dont know how many units Nintendo Produced.
They could've purposely made less to create hype.
This has always happened with console releases the last couple of years (selling out, hype, ebay)
Plus Xmas is around the corner, so parents of the demographic this console excites are going ape **** for it.
not really ps3 didnt just fly off the shelves matter fact out of the last big 3 systems for awhile ps3 was dead last... hell xbox 360 just start outselling the original wii. Ppl said the same thing about the last set of systems and the wii clearly outsold the others. The nntendo will always sell/do well simply off of its vast variety of game genres, novelty, and fun factor. The other two are basically sports, 1st person shooters/rpgs, and grand theft/sleeping dog etc type of games etc... for the most part. ppl for some reason think the vast majority of game players just want to play those type of games only. But history and sales prove otherwise
The Wii sold because of its novelty not because of its game variety or fun factor. It had little variety and what variety it did have were poorly converted ports. Add to that it was cheaper than both the PS3 and 360 at launch. The Wii released during the Fall of 2006 which is when the PS3 dropped. What little PS3s produced when they came out did fly off the shelves. In the long run it took longer to sell well because of the lack of titles at launch. Pointing to sales as something being good is just idiocy. The Wii may have sold the most, but it finished dead last in its previous generation.

Sidenote: The gaming industry is fickle as hell. They're sucking the WiiU off after calling it the flop of E3 and one of the worst presentations ever.

Not sure how many pre orders they had, but my Target only had 2 deluxe, and one basic. Lucky I got there early... Some dude was selling his reserve ticket for $60 lol.

The thing is, I may have a wii, but I bought most of my games for xbox, xbox live, extra controllers, wifi adapter etc. So I dont really look at sales of a console as a factor for quality. The Wii had nothing for me, and if not for my mom being a reckless spender, I probably wouldnt have it.

You mind sharing where? Might head out in a bit to find one if I can't get it online.
I work at target and my discount made the total come out to 348. My friend who also works got a deluxe for $304 :smh:, it turns out he's be Racking up them shop kick points while at work HARD.

The Wii had a bunch of great games in the classics. I'm going PC/Wii U/3Ds for the next gen. I need it to be great.

Well i played Wii U for about an 3 hours yesterday at my friends. It seems pretty cool actually for a casual gamer. Just some observations:

- I don't think nintendo really sold the fact that you can play the game that is on the TV on the game pad. Like i was impressed that the same game that is running on the tv can be ran on the WiiU tablet thing. Like you basically have a console in your hand. Like multiplayer blackops one person can play on the game pad while the other has the full screen. Its crazy that the controller can run the game at a good frame rate with good graphics.
- I played Zombie U. It kinda sucks. It tells you to look down at the controller half the game and you are scanning everything and have to activate it on the map. It is really tedious and not much fun really
- The big controller/tablet thing is pretty comfortable to hold. It also can work as a universal remote. So my friend hooked it up and could control his comcast box and tv with the wiiU game pad which is pretty cool since it is a touch screen.
- The web apps on it are pretty cool but basically the same as xbox and ps3.
- Played black ops 2 which was cool since i got the whole TV and he had to look on the gamepad for multiplayer.
- Played Mario which was entertaining with two people for a bit. Nothing special really but can't say it wasn't fun
- Played nintendo land and it was fun too. A bunch of little mini games and solid use of the gamepad.

The system seems cool and i think it will sell only because normal America just wants a pick up and play console that is fun. Which this is. Obviously if you are a gamer and love FPS's or NBA2k or Madden or Fifa you aren't going to buy the WiiU. But if you are a family or a nintendo nerd (which my friend is) it is pretty cool. It will be interesting to see how they take advantage of the gamepad as time goes on.

how so casual game players are nintendo aimed target..... and it is because the variety of different games along with variety of ways to play games... 360/ps3 is basically for sports, rpgs, and many versions of essentially the same game ala grand theft, red dead, sleeping dogs.... ala cod/halo... Just look at sales of titles. The most popular and most sold games on either system basically fll into those three catagories.... Its the reason why nintendo/mobile gaming trumps psp/vita in terms of popularity and sales.

As far as the wii tailing off towards the end thats two fold because 1. that always happen when a company is about to release a new system, and 2 thats inj part the reason the other systems... mainly ps3 sales increased. Even if you look at the peak of their systems wii still outsold ps3 by a landslide and outsold the 360 as well. And if you look at sales in terms of games when you look at diversity of titles.. the top 360/ps3 games... again are basically a sequel of a game, and/or another variation of the same game. The top 10 360 games as far as sales, are all versions of call of duty halo, madden, and ac3. which isnt really a variety of games moreso the same game just new versions of the same game. So how is that a so called diversity. Outside of ninja gaiden and a few kinnect games the top 50 sellling 360 games are the same 3 or 4 games. with updated versions of them. and 2 of those 4 games are basically the same type of game... halo/cod.

The top wii selling games on the other hand are well diverse... from wii sports, super mario, rock band, zelda, punchout, resident evil....To say those games are all the same, yet 5 or so versions of call of duty, and 4 version of halo are vastly different... the general public along with casual gamers and sales prove otherwise.

The casual gamer doesnt want a library of mostly war simulated games, games in the likes of grand theft auto, and sports titles. This is proven by the sales.

The Wii U, the console youre defending and proclaiming has such diversity, is launching with another 2d super mario game, as well as year old ports of games like ME3 and Batman Arkham City. If any argument can be made, its that Nintendo has great first party software - Ill give you that - but theyve never been competitive on a third party level. They try to innovate and end up compromising in the sense that they create an experience so different from competitors that theyre the only developers with the time/resources to properly utilize them.

The Wii sold a ton, but many people do not look back at it fondly. It was a fad to many, something they grabbed, used for a bit and watched collect dust for months at a time. I really dont care how the Wii U does because once again its not going to be competitive with the next gen of hardware from Sony / MS, and those are the gaming experiences I prefer, but hopefully the console gets some good third party support for once.

Yea i feel as if the first wave of games havent shown the positives of having a screen gamepad... Well at least the games ive played. They say nba2k uses it well. But my thing is if microsoft (rumors) are making a built in screen controller ala like the dreamcast, how will it affect wiiu? Also with the recent rav over motion detection games... how will wiiu implement this into their new console. I really hope they dont think ppl still wanna have to hold a wand/nunchuck to play motion captured games, or swing around a 7 inch tablet.

Like example a new punchout game... Who really wants to hold a tablet in their hands while trying to swing/dodge while boxing. Or a baseball game/bowling etc... I guess nintendo iuno is trying to step in another direction, but whats odd is other systems are following in their old footsteps and making vast improvements and making it better... ala kinnect 2 (based on rumors). But overall i think the games like kirby, mario series, zelda, donkey kong, starfox. i really wish they would make updated versions of classic games/revamps... like a final fight, killer instincts, excitebike,

I kinda want this, but I dunno if Nintendo is going to drop games I want to play, utilizing the consoles capabilities.
