Jordan had no rival player.
Lebron has/had rivals.....KD, Melo and Kobe. He may be better than them this season but with the other guys, people could realistically expect them to win the MVPs and win the title with Jordan there was none of that.

That's only happening because of the cheat code team he put around himself. It's a self fulfilling prophecy. It's not the same thing
For all we know lebron couldn't win with just a legit 2 like pippen, or Pau and role players. The bulls weren't out of this world stacked until the second 3peat.
The reason lebron has gotten so much better and efficient is because of the amazing all time team he has around him. It's not a coincidence. The man got up and told everybody that it was gonna be easy. And now people are acting surprised.

Not having similar rivals at the same position is not the same as not having rivals period.
Shaq, Hakeem, DRob, Malone, Stockton, GP, etc etc. If anything his rivals were even better top to bottom than what Lebron sees nowadays.

So Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, etc weren't his rivals? If you consider Melo and Kobe a rival to LeBron, then you have to consider Magic or Charles.
You can't be serious saying "Michael had no rivals". Thats flat out dumb. Jordan had rivals but he was that much better then them, the same way LeBron has rivals now and he's that much better.

I agree that in comparison Lebron is better than everyone else in the league which is "Jordan-Like", but people forget that KD isn't that far away. In this case, perception really isn't the reality.
I honestly believe that if that 22-game winning streak never happened, KD or CP3 would've had a legit shot at MVP. Lebrons team really makes him look a lot better.
To be fair, KD's team is pretty stacked too
It was a 27 game win streak. And go look at what Lebrun averaged this year. He shot 57%. That's just ridiculously good.

Actually, they are as much rivals to MJ as Kobe is to Lebron. Just cause they play different positions doesn't mean they were not rivals.

So much so that it makes dumbasses like you believe his competition was weak. I've been lucky enough to watch MJ in his prime, so I can honestly say how dominate the man was. Dude was filthy. We are talking about during Jordan's championship runs. 91-98.
No one at the beginning of the season said Charles Barkley or Patrick Ewing is better than Jordan and he's going to take over the crown as best player in the league.

People write articles about Lebron and KD's rivalary and before that people wrote about his rivalry with Kobe.
People weren't writing articles about Jordan having a personal rival during those runs.
You ever hear the term this person is "Michael Jordan of Football, Golf etc etc"?
The reason why they'd say that is because Michael Jordan was so dominant it was just him alone as best player in sport for a long period of time.
No one is saying that about Lebron's recent dominance.
