Those close to Paul Pierce believe he will not return to the Boston Celtics next season, according to CSNNE sideline reporter Greg Dickerson – and Pierce might think his days in green are done, as well. "I don't think they will (bring Pierce back)," Dickerson said Sunday on CSNNE. "And I know that the company that Paul Pierce hangs around in, they do not believe – and I don't think Paul Pierce believes – that he is going to be brought back next year at $15 million. I know for a fact that people around Paul Pierce have pretty much resigned themselves to the fact that he's played his final game in a Boston Celtics uniform. Again, Paul wants to stay – obviously for $15 million, but he wants to finish his career in a Celtics uniform.
I always though that Pierce was going to retire as a Celtic

I could see the bulls or LA seeing as he's from their & what better way to say **** the celtics than too Go play for the rival squad..

OKC is a much better team than those Cavalier teams. I don't see why its even up for discussion.

Stop comparing the players by how they playing in the series and compare them to how they are looked at overall. Ibaka just made the All Defensive 1st team, Martin was in the running for 6th man of the year, Durant is the 2nd best player in basketball, Perkins is considered a defensive juggernaut, Sefolosha is considered one of the best perimeter defenders in the league, etc etc etc.

Wow at all this love Conley is getting

Zach Lowe with the Grantland article:

Here's a fun exercise: Pick any NBA player and try to picture his go-to move on offense. For LeBron James, you'll likely think of him negotiating a pick-and-roll up high, probably going to his left, scanning the defense for a driving lane or a clear pass to a spot-up shooter in the corner. For Tim Duncan, it'll be a pet post-up move from the left block. Tyson Chandler is almost tearing off the rim while finishing a lob dunk, and Matt Bonner is shot-putting a 3-pointer from the top of the arc.

Perkins is a shell of his former self, and why are you including Durant in the comparison? He's LeBron in this scenario, and aren't we just comparing supporting casts?

Martin was NOT in the running for 6moty outside of like his first 5 games, and Sef for the defensive juggernaut he allegedly is kept letting Conley and Bayless (the only respectable shooters) get open shots because he was helping off on Tayshaun Prince. And Perkins, just lol. He is totally useless. He does nothing well.

Look at bhz trying to hype up the Thunder now that the Grizzlies are on the verge of beating them.

:nerd:

"Hollins told star forward Zach Randolph, who is not known for his defense, that Randolph had made honorable mention on the NBA's all-defense team. " I did?" Randolph enthusiastically responded, according to Hollins. No, the coach said, "I'm just kidding"

But, really. What I'm saying is, no one was calling OKC's supporting cast a bunch of bums when they had Westbrook. All you heard about them was "Ibaka is this" or "Sef is that" or "Perkins is this". Now, they are all supposedly nothing compared to what Lebron had because Westbrook went down. Are you saying they were overhyped from the jump when they DID have Westbrook?

It was people on here talking about how Sef is right up there with TA, Iguodala and Lebron in terms of perimeter defenders. Even though the hype on Perkins has went down a bunch, the sports world still hypes him up. Ibaka, who I think is still a good player and pretty good defensively, gets hyped up like he's a 6'10 Mutombo. But now? They are just average players without Westbrook?

I'm not saying everybody on here was saying that, but a good amount were. Not to mention the national hype and other forums. Saying all that, I still think OKC's supporting cast is better than anything Cleveland had probably outside of Varejao.

This dude said Z = Perk

Illgauskas was averaging 14 and 9 and had that Bosh/KG midrange game on lock. People act like Bron had a bunch of bums for teammates on the Cavs but Z and Varejao was a very nice front court at the time, Mo Williams is still a starting point guard in this league, and Delonte West, JJ Hickson, Boobie Gibson, Anthony Parker, and Sczerbiak/Joe Smith/Antawn Jamison were all real solid role players.

The Thunder might have some great role players too but we'd never know since Scott Brooks only plays like 6 players a game. Look at what Reggie Jackson has done, and he was just warming the bench a couple months ago. There's no way you can tell me Perry Jones and Lamb couldn't give them a little help right now. It's ridiculous that Lamb has basically had a redshirt year when he was one of the most NBA-ready guys in this whole draft class.

They are average without Westbrook though. IBaka's fg% drops 23% when Westbrook is off the court. And yes he is an amazing help defender and even improved his man up defense, held Zach to 8 pts game 3. Then our genius of a coach says let's switch the matchups. And nobody who has watched the Thunder play more than a couple games thinks Perkins is an asset to us anymore. Beyond getting killed on D, he has 2pts 2boards 5fouls in 34 minutes. Perkins has the worst turnover % in 10 yrs. He is allegedly worth it because of his screens but since you don't have to respect him offensively, even those don't work since his man just stays around and double teams. Our supporting cast minus KD and WB, versus the 09 Cavs minus LeBron would be a series, probably go 7. Or even with LeBron and KD, still probably be close.

More than anything, his guys made open shots. Our's are not. If you are going to be 1 dimensional and not even be good at that 1 dimension, then what good are you?

:x at a OKC vs CLE series without KD, Russy and Lebron

So, the Cavs 2010-11 roster:

Hickson, Sessions, Jamison, Gibson, Parker, Mo Williams, Varejao, Hollins, Parker, Samuels, Gee

vs.

Jackson, Fisher, Sefolosha, Ibaka, Perkins, Martin, Collison, Thabeet, Lamb, Liggins, PJ3

"Andre Drummond is going to be everything Dwight should have been"

So basically Drummond is going to average better than 23, 14 and 3 blocks a game in the prime of his career, win more than 3 Defensive Play of the Year awards, make more than 5 All-NBA and All-Defensive First Teams, make more than 10 All-Star teams when it's all said and done and win more than one Olympic Gold Medal as the starting center. Oh, okay.

If Drummond is ever the face of a franchise or even an All-Star I will be very, very suprised. Kid has all the athletic talent in the world, but is dumb as a rock.
