Drummond being proactive and learning while hes still developing instead of waiting 5-6 years into the league to develop a post game, nice :smokin

Just because you didn't see articles about Dwight working with Hakeem after his rookie season, doesn't mean he wasn't working hard each offseason.

Too many people assume unless there's a story attached to it, that players aren't trying to get better. Maybe.. all the work in the world wouldn't make Dwight more fluid or give him a better touch.

"Andre Drummond is going to be everything Dwight should have been"

So basically Drummond is going to average better than 23, 14 and 3 blocks a game in the prime of his career, win more than 3 Defensive Play of the Year awards, make more than 5 All-NBA and All-Defensive First Teams, make more than 10 All-Star teams when it's all said and done and win more than one Olympic Gold Medal as the starting center. Oh, okay.

If Drummond is ever the face of a franchise or even an All-Star I will be very, very suprised. Kid has all the athletic talent in the world, but is dumb as a rock.

Dwight's defense shouldn't be in question, but All-Star is based on popularity and the lack of centers made it a lot easier... so that's not really "an accomplishment" in the basketball sense. Yeah, he averaged 23 in his prime, but would you trust Dwight to get you two points when you needed a basket? Drummond has potential to be the two-way center many wanted Dwight to be.

"Dumb as rocks" might have been an issue coming into the draft, but I haven't seen much to make me concerned at all. He's a kid still..

I think okc supporting cast is way better than what lebron had to work with back then. But who cares? Real question is, could Durant do what lebron did against Detroit to put his team in the finals? I don't think he could.

If i'm not mistaken wasn't Pat down there then?

So he was working with a top 10 big man everyday.

I feel drummond will never be a legit scoring threat on the block

He is already better than he was in college cause the nba game is different they have dudes creating easy buckets

But when the game slows down you see what his faults are, regardless he is playing above my expectations for him so far

this.

also i was wasnt talking about D12 only Big J.

Some players dont open up their game till its too late or they dont have a choice.

Hes taking a step in the right direction after 1 year in the league

hes 19, lets see what happens.

Those close to Paul Pierce believe he will not return to the Boston Celtics next season, according to CSNNE sideline reporter Greg Dickerson – and Pierce might think his days in green are done, as well
. "I don't think they will (bring Pierce back)," Dickerson said Sunday on CSNNE. "And I know that the company that Paul Pierce hangs around in, they do not believe – and I don't think Paul Pierce believes – that he is going to be brought back next year at $15 million. I know for a fact that people around Paul Pierce have pretty much resigned themselves to the fact that he's played his final game in a Boston Celtics uniform. Again, Paul wants to stay – obviously for $15 million, but he wants to finish his career in a Celtics uniform.
I always though that Pierce was going to retire as a Celtic

The disrespect to Paul Pierce:pimp:
what if he goes to san antonio anti
I don't think that will happen

Dude is only 19, averaged 8 and 8 on 21 mins, thats a double double waiting to happen if he gets starter mins, hes also doing something dwight shouldve did and go work with hakeem early in his career

Time will tell tho
It's way too early for all of these predictions
Ewing was working with Dwight since 07 and was likely a big influence in Dwight becoming such a great defender.
I do believe that and you could see the difference in his overall during his time with the Magic

Who was defending CP3 for the most part in the Clippers vs Memphis 1 round series??  Mike Conley or Tony Allen??

It was a combination of both. I'd say Conley spent more time on him overall, but Allen guarded him a lot. They also put Pondexter on him at times too.

"Oklahoma City's coach has been really exposed in these playoffs.  He's so stubbornly sticking with Perkins.  Perkins at this point can't even guard Marc Gasol.  Why is he in the league?  I thought you were in the league to be able to guard Dwight Howard and Marc Gasol and Roy Hibbert.  Those are the three guys you're probably still in the league for and he can't even guard those guys anymore. "

Oh boy. This has the potential to be another classic Buc Em post.
I recall this guy saying some outrageous stuff but what he said about Drummond isn't too unfair. He might be an All-Star some day but I would be surprised if he ever became a franchise guy. I wouldn't be surprised if he was never an All-Star despite his high production in limited minutes. Good season for him no doubt though.

I just think he's too young and too good just off of raw ability to not turn out to be a perennial All-Star but we'll see I guess.

Dudes are acting as if Dwight putting up 20 a game and being the biggest defensive force in the L when healthy is just magically done because he's 7 feet & athletic.... Dwight isn't a GREAT offensive option but he's damn sure more than serviceable.... But then again he's a Laker now so he's severely overated.

And while we're on the convo of one STAR taking a team full of role players to the finals let's not act like Dwight didn't take Rashard Lewis bumbass to the finals after he beat Lebron & had a better showing against an L.A team that had arguably the best bigman in the game that season and one of the Goats.

This dude said Z = Perk

Illgauskas was averaging 14 and 9 and had that Bosh/KG midrange game on lock. People act like Bron had a bunch of bums for teammates on the Cavs but Z and Varejao was a very nice front court at the time, Mo Williams is still a starting point guard in this league, and Delonte West, JJ Hickson, Boobie Gibson, Anthony Parker, and Sczerbiak/Joe Smith/Antawn Jamison were all real solid role players.

The Thunder might have some great role players too but we'd never know since Scott Brooks only plays like 6 players a game. Look at what Reggie Jackson has done, and he was just warming the bench a couple months ago. There's no way you can tell me Perry Jones and Lamb couldn't give them a little help right now. It's ridiculous that Lamb has basically had a redshirt year when he was one of the most NBA-ready guys in this whole draft class.
BUT WHO WAS LEBRONS # 2?

Is that a personal judgement or a basketball IQ statement?

Guy will grow into a very special player man. He has a lot of time.

OKC is a much better team than those Cavalier teams. I don't see why its even up for discussion.

Stop comparing the players by how they playing in the series and compare them to how they are looked at overall. Ibaka just made the All Defensive 1st team, Martin was in the running for 6th man of the year, Durant is the 2nd best player in basketball, Perkins is considered a defensive juggernaut, Sefolosha is considered one of the best perimeter defenders in the league, etc etc etc.

Everybody knew the thunder only had 2 scorers after they traded Harden.

I need the names of the people that called Perkins a defensive juggernaut.

Pondexter defended him more than TA did, I believe. TA was mainly guarding Billups and Crawford.

Yeah, once Crawford went off on Bayless in Game 2, Allen was pretty much on him whenever he was in the game. So, since CP and Crawford were often in together, I think you're right that Allen didn't spend as much time on Paul as Conley and Pondexter.

While Shard was immediately overpaid, let's not pretend he was trash the entire time... he and Hedo were solid players during that run

Hedo was pretty damn the year before and the year the Magic made the finals, same with Lewis.

Yep. Both guys were playing at a high level the year they went to the finals. I remember this vividly because they bumped my 76ers out the playoffs.
