The guy is a pretty good coach.  Not perfect but his defensive system has been solid all year.

I was want JVG in Brooklyn.

We're not getting the zen master.

Shaw intrigues me, but I always wondered why he didn't get a shot at the lakers job.
Nets should hire Shaw.  Give a young guy a chance to build an identity there.  Van Gundy was overrated, frankly...  Bad offensive coach.  Watching his Rockets was a travesty with the talent they had, and they improved tremendously as soon as Adelman came on.

 @ the Knicks

Because he makes his teammates worse, not better.

Also he's shooting 9-22 tonight and 39% for the series, so he's taking shots away from players who would have even an average level of scoring efficiency.  While averaging 1.8 assists.  Yeah, that's terrible for the guy who's supposed to be moving the team upwards.

But because he has 20+ points you can deflect blame if you want to.
yes yes and yes.. felton ran the offense and carried the load a lot during the regular season.. he looks exhausted, even disinterested.. the carmelo and jr shooting show does makes others worse.. dudes  are constantly running around trying to clean up the mess and or getting back off missed jumpers.. i feel bad for felton he has lost a step, his closeouts are terrrible and he gets beat of the dribble a lot.. all this due to melo and jr's shoot first MEntality

This dude Ron Artest is zooted

 at Novack pulling from the scorers table, dude doesn't know when he's gettin another shot.

Mike Woodson isn't a very good coach. He can't make adjustments to save his life, he shows an insane loyalty to some players (Kidd, JR) and buries other players. The Knicks were successful because they rained 3's this year and their defense was average.

Unless you have one of the elite guys, there's a lot of fluctuation with the rest of the coaches. It's hard to say what coach would have done a better job with this team, but Woodson is the same guy from Atlanta... so any improvement was exaggerated.

Stop it.

You're mistaking not being Mike D'Antoni with being a strong defensive coach.
I just don't understand how you guys can so obsessively find reasons to blame everyone except for J.R. and Melo.  It's like you have a pathological obsession with low-efficiency chuckers.

Also, per Woodson, I mean.  He's better than many coaches in the league.  That's the standard I would use for calling him "good" or "bad".  Obviously he should have played Copeland and Novak,.. no idea what he was thinking.

I mean, look what the Nets were working with, with PJ

How is this on Melo though?

Nobody on his team has produced offensively all series. He can't make shots for them too.

Who is he taking shots away from that should be shooting more?

JR...who has been in a horrible slump? Amare? KMart? Shump (also in a slump)? J Kidd? Chandler? Felton?

When your teammates aren't producing offensively you have to take shots.

Don't understand how Melo is getting blamed for the rest of his team sucking this series.

The Knicks before JR elbowed JET would've stood a better chance against Miami than these Pacers.

Honest question, but why do people feel like the elbow was the turning point for the Knicks/JR Smith in the playoffs? He's a streaky player...not exactly the model of consistency. This is the same dude who was out watching the Mayweather fight at 40/40 the night/morning before a 3:30 tip. It's obvious he can't handle playing ball in the city.

So where are the knicks fans that thought they would beat miami? Lol *****

Obviously this isn't the Knicks at their best. The Knicks at their best could compete with Miami... that's what most Knicks fans were talking about.

Of course, if you only play your best every third game... then who cares how good you could be. And that's the Knicks.

Its pointless to talk trash about the next couple of series, David Stern will do everything in his Power to prevent a Pacers vs Memphis Final. He has the perfect set of refs for that.
