I keep hearing how Brian Shaw would be a great coach...well why isn't he coaching anywhere?
Well for one thing it seems like he got shafted in L.A. because JImmy Buss wanted to bring in a big name (D'Antoni).

It's not like NBA teams have an awesome record of bringing up good young coaches.  They constantly hire the same retreads...  See Scott Skiles, Mike Brown, Bernie Bickerstaff, P.J. Carlisemo continue to get head coaching gigs for god knows what reason.

Man I'm just happy we won. Simple as that, I was nervous about the game and I didnt even want to come on here to discuss it with people. I turned my phone off, watched the game, and as soon as it was over I went to sleep.

Everytime I check this thread it jumps by like a 1000 posts :smh:

Anyway, I'm not too happy the Warriors lost today. I guess experience prevailed

It seems like the only time Carmelo is effective is in international play. For example the 2008, 2012 olympic teams. Not that atrocity of the LeBronze medal team in 2004. Put him around other stars that are better than him and it puts a governor on all that unnecessary shooting he does. And that black hole mentality he has goes down the drain. Can't blame Tyson for calling him out.....

I never understood that. Why don't more teams hire an up and coming coach who hasn't been around the league, and in turn has never really achieved much success?

People felt the same way about Mark Jackson, but of course people will say he has great assistants around him but still the Warriors took a chance and it seems to have worked.

You can also copy and paste them into the post box, or drag and drop them into the post box sometimes. Those are like 50-50 for me though.

i agree.

i hate the fact the NBA recycles all these **** coaches and end up with the same result.

Carmelo is a piece or option on a championship team.

he can never be the man because he doesnt make his team better.

hes a hell of a shooter and offensive threat, but thats it.

Defense, Rebounding, Assists..... nah.

Melo rebounds well for a small forward. He can be your number one option and get you a ring, he just needs a consistent number 2 and a coach that actually runs an offense instead of saying hey melo, just shoot like woodson does.

actually your right about the rebounding, i retract my statement on that.

the rest, we'll agree to disagree.

the knicks offense as a whole is a joke. part of that can be blamed on melo, dude takes bad shots, but the rest is woodson man. i really think dude doesn't know how to run an offense in the nba. it's the same stuff in atl that he's doing here. let the best player iso 65% of the time, cool. when we were crushing it, it was because of our ball movement. we don't do that anymore. no one ever really posts up and jr has been worthless. it would be nice if every once in a while you saw guys come down the court, move without the ball, curl off a screen and get an easy jumper or drive and dish but yeah no.

Tyson Chandler had been getting completely manhandled by Hibbert, yet he wants to discuss what's going on on offense. What more need be said about him?

The thing is though that that we struggle with ball movement AND off ball movement. When D'antoni was here we said this....we've turned the team around and its still an issue. Woodson is an idiot but the players gotta take blame too.

He isn't wrong, though.

This team was a top offense during the season and hasn't been able to match that in this series. It's due in large part to Indiana's great defense, but the Knicks can't win by scoring 80 points

The thing is, just because he is struggling on the defensive side, it doesn't mean that the offensive issues can't be addressed by him. He's won a championship before and he knows what it takes to win. I LOVE Melo man, but he isn't exempt from criticism.

It doesn't matter if he's ******g wrong or not. You put out the fire in your own house before you try to help your neighbor.

As for our offense, ball movement is an issue. We know this. It's BEEN an issue. So pointing it out now is not helping at all. Furthermore, you can move the ball until you're blue in the face, if dudes aren't hitting shots it won't matter at all. ESPECIALLY considering we're getting crushed on the boards, killing any hope of second shots (ahem ahem Tyson). Kidd, JR, KMart and a gimped Shump haven't provide any complimentary offense. And its not because the ball isn't moving. It's because they're stinking it up. We have capable shooters riding the pine (Novak and Copeland). Prigioni is shooting 44% from 3 in the playoffs yet we're forced to watch Jason Kidd throw bricks up time and time again to the tune of 17%. All of that is on Woodson. He's determined to beat the Pacers at their own game instead of adjusting to a strategy to counter what they're doing. It'd be one thing if we had Sheed and a healthy Camby but we don't. We aren't going to outbang or outrebound Indiana. We have to outgun them.

So again tell me what criticizing Melo, the only player who actually seems to give a damn ON THE COURT (save for maybe Felton), is accomplishing? All the players on the Knicks roster have been benefiting from Melo getting doubled most of the season. Now he's not getting doubled. Know what that means? You have to beat your ******g man. And at this point, no one outside of Melo has proven they can do that. Top to bottom our players are getting beaten to the point where now we HAVE to have Melo carry us the way KD has tried to carry OKC. It isn't going to work.

j kidd won a ring and took two teams to the finals on his back.  i think he of all people knows whats up with the ball movement but u dont hear him stirring up controversy.  thats because he knows given his current performance he has no room to talk.  unfortunately chandler is not as wise and now we have some bs controversy to go with this pathetic collapse.  seems fitting.
