Cp3, d will, Steph, rondo, Parker, kyrie, rose

That would be logical unfortunately most of NT isn't logical and they just go with what goes on now... Dwight fights through a injury plagued season still puts up the best #'s for any center in the L and apparently he sucks.

D.Rose has a career threatening injury takes his time to rehab and get ready... he's heartless and selfish

KD leads his team in every statistical category, Keeps his team close takes ALL the shots down the stretch.... he's no longer a clutch player

This isn't from a Nt'er but Charles Barkley said and i quote...... If Lebron doesn't play spectacular every night the heat will struggle to win...... If Melo doesn't play spectacular his team loses, If KD doesn't play spectacular every night his team loses, Lebron is on a team that contains D-Wade, Chris Bosh, and COUNTLESS good role players he can have an average night by his standards.... Give em 20 5 &5 and the heat would still beat any team in the east as is right now.

Yea, like everybody is a better two way player than Conley.

Conley, Curry, Lawson, Dwill and Kyrie are all in the same boat right now. If you want to look at a player's offensive abilities and say he's better than somebody, you can look at Conley's defensive abilities and his ability to run a team better than any of those guys.

Paul, Rondo, Westbrook, Parker, Rose

then you have the list of Conley, Curry, Lawson, Dwill and Kyrie (in no particular order). It all depends on what you prefer from your point guard.

Let's not forget everyone who murdered me for saying Kyle Lowry was not better than Conley. Where is that ***** ranked at?

And he has a better team... So?

@Antidope, it's addition by subtraction. On the surface you say no, but the shots he was taking made them less of a team. Gasol wasn't as effective as he is now and the same for Z Bo, even though he was out for a little bit in the season I believe. With Rudy being traded, it forced them to play more like a team, not saying Rudy was totally bad, but him being gone changed the complexion of the offense. I guess management felt that they had another side of the offense that could be just as effective. They gambled and won.

Well, I dont' think they are. I think they would have been even better with him. They did have a very similar record with him on the roster. You cannot tell me that Prince as a complementary player is better than Rudy as the same guy. Memphis was just FORCED to play a different way because Rudy wasn't there to bail them out on plays. They could have easily adjusted to the same style WITH Rudy on the team like they were doing before Rudy went down in 2010-11 (his best season btw).

The fact that they lost last season was just very unfortunate for him and he wasn't even the one to blame. I know a good amount about what happened within that organization when Rudy was on the team, so more of Rudy's jumpshot attempts had to do with the coach. It also had to do with a lot of guys relying on him to make plays. Just a psychological thing. Now, guys like Conley believe in themselves more to do it themselves and they could have done that with Rudy. It was like someone relying on their older brother to bail them out all the time.

But I don't care, no one believed in this team with or without Rudy for the most part. What's even more funny is how people think OKC would have just ran through Memphis with Westbrook on the team when they forgot Memphis has beat them with Westbrook with and without Rudy. I said it a million times, but Memphis is just a bad matchup for them and now you know why. An elite defensive team with elite bigs vs their overrated bigs is not a good receipe for them. I've always said we would get another shot at them and beat them, unfortunately it was without Westbrook so of course people will try to downplay it but whatever.
Spurs will beat Grizz showing old signs from February. Duncan will eat z bo. Book it.
That's fine. Marc will just eat, then what?

Here me out: if you look at how teams defend the grizzlies, there is absolutely no fear that Mike Conley will beat them either by driving in for a layup or making a shot from the outside. It would be so much easier if Gay were a 3 point shooter, but when 90% of your plays are post up plays and you have Gasol and Randolph down low, with every team's defender sagging off Conley to clutter the paint, ask yourself were can Rudy begin to get good looks.

I don't see hollins trying to get Rudy more involved either. Half the time Rudy stands out on the perimeter and acts like I facilitator to get the ball down to our bigs. How does this relate to Mike Conley? Well for one thing, I believe that Conley, as well as Hollins, relies far too much on our bigs to get a good shot. It is almost a lazy way to play basketball and it is certainly a far less attacking style that the grizzlies need to be playing with.

I believe that Conley should be LIMITED to the amount of dump downs he can do in a game, because he is more than capable to drive the lane. So in a sense he is settling for the easy play. I also think that Rudy has accepted this type of game, but none of the way the team plays offense HELPS Rudy Gay in any way. There is no motion to give Rudy any rhythm. Hollins needs to MAKE it an imperative in every game to get Rudy going and not stick to this boring style of offense.

My point is that while you guys are looking for 3 point shooters to help space the floor, that you need to realize that the issue of spacing is a MIke Conley issue. Unless he challenges the defense on a regular basis, nothing is going to change
This was before the trade. The issue was Conley being more aggressive and to stop relying on having 3 good players to do things. Rudy was just the scapegoat because he was the "overpaid star". But, most of the time with Memphis, people only watched the national TV games or looked at the stats and wanted to say Rudy was a bad fit. Its way more to it than that.
I appreciate the insight from both you guys.

I see us closing out the series tonight, and I would love to play Memphis agian. Retribution is long overdue.

Is this real, BHZ STILL wont accept the Grizz are better with out Gay.

Why do you love this man so much? I don't understand, it clouds your judgement.

Face it, I was 100000% right, I'm not right about everything much but I was right about this, Rudy Gay trade was ADDITION BY SUBTRACTION.

grizzlies/heat? I dig it, grizzlies might be one of the only teams that can stop Miami, just because of that strong frontcourt..But damn, Westbrook is missed..

Mike Conley is straight up on the cusp of earning top-5 PG recognition.

I've seen Conley grow leaps and bounds offensively since Ohio State with Greg Oden.

CP3, Rose (healthy), Russy, Rondo, TP9.

After that is a heap consisting of Conley, Steph, Deron, Kyrie, Ty, Rubio, etc.

I'm sure I left out a name or two typing quickly.

If you think replacing Rudy Gay with Tayshaun Prince, instead of just making Rudy play in the complentary role from the jump would make this team worse, then idk what to tell you. Trust me, I understand how you view it. Ever since the trade happened, I've heard people view it your way, my way or simply thinking we would fall off the map without him. I'm a firm believer that we would be in the same position right now with him. But, the main issue when he was here was the way Hollins used him and the lack of aggression from our PG. I've seen our offense change several times before Rudy got hurt, when Zach got hurt, til this season before the trade and now after the trade. Everyone could have stayed and we could have ran the same offense, but we have the type of coach who's hand has to be forced. Our two best players also are probably the most unselfish leaders on any team in the NBA.

We can debate it all day, but we going to feel the same way. I knew that our ball movement would improve once he was traded, I even said it in the Grizz thread. But, that's more so because it forced Hollins to change the offense and forced Conley to be the aggessor. And as bad as Prince has been for this team for the most part, you can tell it was more of just the coach and our other main guys being more aggressive.

I was wrong about ZBo coming back to form, but who wasn't? I never saw a single Memphis writer or anybody say ZBo would return back to form. I'm happy about that and its nothing to hold my head down about  . And that was my other reasoning for not wanting to move Rudy at that time. I felt like we would have to rely too heavy on a Zbo who was above average during the season come playoff time. The good thing is that Conley has emerged as a top 30 player now, so Rudy is less missed.

Yeah you forgetting jrue and john but i wouldnt put rubio on that list

Good call.

Ironic because I'm a Sixers fan (Jrue) and Wall is my favorite player after PG24, Russy, and Lin.

I love Rubio's natural PG skills. Vision, creativity, decision-making. Deceptively quick. Jumper will improve with time.

Thunder Stats & Info @ThunderStats 10h

Kevin Durant is the second player in the past 50 years to average better than 30 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the postseason.

Kendrick Perkins in the second round, by the numbers.

* 12 total points in five games.

* 11 total turnovers in five games.

* 21 total rebounds in five games.

* Three total blocks in five games. (One was admittedly huge.)

* 4-23 shooting overall. For a center.

* 18 personal fouls overall.

* A -40 in 116 minutes during the series. In the other 129 minutes of the series, the Thunder were a +20.

According to basketballreference, in the 2012-2013 season:

-He has the worst PER in the NBA among all starting Centers.

-Worst TS% in the NBA among all starting Centers.

-Worst Ortg in the NBA among all starting Centers.

-Lowest FTA in the NBA among all starting Centers.

-Lowest ORB% in the NBA among all starting Centers.

-Lowest PPG in the NBA among all starting Centers.

The main thing that will keep Conley from being a bonafide star and top 5 is having that "attack" instinct. He's shown it a few times, but not enough. And we will probably never see Conley on a team where he is forced to be the main guy. Despite him shooting terrible throughout the playoffs, he is averaging 17.6ppg / 7.6apg / 4.8rpg / 1.6spg / 1.9tpg as the 3rd option.

He's one player you can say that litereally improved one aspect of his game every season. There's no doubt that he's going to be even better next season. I would really like to see him turn into Tony Parker 2.0, but I don't see it happening.

Besides the obvious choices at the top, I'm watching Utah and OKC carefully in the Draft. Very crucial for both teams to take that next step. Thunder to win a Finals (C or SG), Jazz to be a serious playoff threat (PG).

Those two players you mentioned first virtually play no defense compared to Conley. Far better scorers and shooters, but Conley has better pure PG skills. Best described as controlling tempo and pace. Managing a game. Decision-making with the basketball.

I'm okay with Steph slightly over Conley because of his ability to take over as a scorer, but it's close/tight either way.

If Conley shot attempts from 11.8 to 18+ attempts a game like Curry and Kyrie, I'm sure he could be averaging much more than what he did in the season. He's averaging 14 attempts now on an uncharacteristic sub .400 shooting, and still getting close to 18ppg. He's doing that while being an elite defender.

I understand where you coming from and I love both Curry and Kyrie (I think they would definitely have better careers than Conley), but right now I'm taking Conley over both. Three reasons I'm taking Conley over Curry: much better defender, can run a team more efficiently and not injury prone. Kyrie is really good, but I feel like people are rushing him into being better than he is right now. Just wait til next season or the year after next and he will definitely be a beast. With Curry, he's a BEAST. He takes over games like no other with his shooting, but I don't know man. I wonder how he would like on our team playing with two bigs?

Its just really difficult to compare Conley because of the type of offense he's in and playing with two elite bigs. Each of those PG's bring something better to the table than the other, I guess its just preference.

Okc got lamb and perry jones they will be fine, ibaka can play the 5 but he needs to develop a post game and stop playing like bargnani

Spurs/Grizzlies will be amazing if it comes to that, still going with my finals pick Spurs though.

i'm all for taking the best player available.. and i love how some of the wings in this draft could fit with the thunder.. but it all depends on price and value..

but the following must be kept in mind for the SG spot:

1) thabo has 1 more year on his deal

2) lamb should be getting solid playing time next year (hopefully in the 20 mins per range)

3) jackson should be getting mins with westbrook (hopefully he gets 25 mins per.. playing with and without westbrook)

at the the 12 spot, i would love to get caldwell-pope.. this means lamb would step into the starting spot after next season and caldwell-pope would be one of our main wings off the bench with jackson

trading up for oladipo.. as mentioned above, thabo has 1 more year left on his deal.. oladipo could be the eventual starter, with lamb and jackson as the main guys off the bench

i dont want us to reach for dieng at 12.. would love to get withey somewhere in the 20s.. would love len at 12 or having to trade up slightly
