It's not that big of a loss.

Nike tends to do this with their athletes every few years. They'll let a few guys go with other companies and focus their attention on newer athletes or the already big names they have.

I'm sure we'd all like to see Westbrook stay with the swoosh, but he was never going to get the attention he wanted especially playing alongside Durant. Russ would have stayed getting the PE treatment on the Hyperdunk/Fuse line.

Even with Adidas bolstering up their roster, it's still nowhere close to Nike's talent.

Speaking of guys jumping ship, was it ever confirmed if DWade signed with Li-Ning or Blake Griffin with Under Armour?

just waiting for akalongstroke come into this thread :nerd:

don't care whoever jump ship from swoosh to 3 stripes , best of luck for them. hope adidas can make good of this they already got rubio and westbrook (2 young bright stars)

Rubio, Damian Lillard, H. Barnes, Austin Rivers, Drummond, and Perry Jones. Now Russy.

You can also add Quincy Acey, Josh Selby and Tyshawn Taylor to that group.

I bet they'll lace him with a few Rose 3 PEs for a couple of games to get some exposure since DRose will be sidelined for awhile.

He'll be the face of the Crazy Light campaign.

Beat me to it.

Nike doesn't pay its athletes well outside of Kobe, LeBron and KD. Why do you think John Wall went to Reebok? 25 over 5 compared to 50-100k? No brainer.

Yeah unless your an elite star Nike will **** on you hard. Thats why some of these top rookies and what not sign else wear. I personally have never played in anything other than Nike since JHS. But if in there shoes, im strapping on whatever lol

woah never heard about the blake rumor. that would be a big blow for nike. russ was just another point guard.

pretty sure dwade is off jordan brand and is a free agent.

notice addidas is more of a light shoe for guards now, i remember it used to be big men would wear those bulky adidas and looked like they had blocks on there feet, times have changed i guess

Blake is not marketable nor is he a great talent. he had some hype around him a year or two ago, nothing now.

hes really means nothing to Nike IMO

outside of the classics i dont get what people see in most adidas, especially the sigs. Ive never seen a drose shoe i liked, maybe im just picky. Like the old school ewing conductors were sick, but newer adidas just dont do it for me, i like westbrook and hope he gets a sig, but im sure i wouldnt like it

I think with the right marketing scheme, he can become one helluva brand. His Kia commercials crack me up. So random...lol. I figured Nike would have had a field day with him.

the fact you enjoy those commercials makes me not like you. i hate those commercials and i do not like Blake Griffin at all. hes corny just like Dwight :x

^^

C'mon son, Nike/Adidas/Reebok are all running their variations of ultra-light, plastic shoes. There are other factors that contributed to their injuries, but that's for another discussion.
