FanDuel Vol. The Best/Worst Thing To Happen to Fantasy Sports

Guy I chop it up with quite a bit about gambling was doing daily fantasy in baseball. He was making BANK. Kinda interested in trying it with the nfl.

Good bump. Need to revive this with NFL right around the corner. I'm down for some random H2H's. 50-50, son.

Is there any specific strategies y'all recommend when doing this?
I tend to go with low cost, high upside QBs and TEs. That way I can bolster up my RBs and WRs.

Also, be aware of the scoring format. It's only -1 point for interceptions, so guys who sling the ball and are prone to throw interceptions aren't bad choices if they're gonna throw for 2-3 TDs and 250+ yards. It's also .5 PPR so guys who catch alot of passes get a slight bump.

I've had this lineup in for like a month now . Surprisingly I still like all of my picks.

1000

This is what I got for this week.

700

700

700

Tried three different strategies with each one. One with the elite QB in Brees. One with strong WR's in Jeffery and Brown. And a more well rounded roster with Kaep, Forte, Jones. We will see how it goes. Gonna try to go with RB's who are strong pass catchers always. Not used to a PPR format since I've never done it in my traditional fantasy leagues.

Can anyone explain how the 50/50 works.

EDIT: NVM, the 50/50 is pretty straight forward.

I gotta deposit more money into my draftkings account. Decided to only mess around with $10 for baseball season. Did 50/50 leagues until a little bit after the all star break then ended up losing whatever I had. Went on a serious cold streak and decided to just do free rolls until football came back around.

Week 1 boys

Any sleepers yall like week 1? Going with Carson Palmer this week as of now in order to save for my WRs.

Anyone else notice that Fanduel did away with the different salary cap options? Looks like everything is 60k now. I used to like doing 55k's and my big winner was a 65k :\.

Anyone got any value plays this week? Here's a few of mine:

RB:
Fred Jackson - $5800 - Part of the run heaviest offense, going against a pretty bad run D. Should be able to score a TD and nab a few catches.

WR:
Cody Latimer - $4500 (more of a risk/reward) - Was already pegged to get some red zone looks, and now with Welker out he could see even more opportunities.
Golden Tate - $5000 - No clue why he's this cheap. The Giants D will be all over Megatron, leaving one of the best pairs of hands in the league single covered with a QB willing to sling away.

TE:
Travis Kelce - $4500 (huge risk/high reward) - 2nd TE on the depth chart, but with Bowe out, who is Smith gonna throw it to? If he can break a big play like he did a few times in the preseason he'll be worth the money.

K:
Nate Freese - $4500 - High octane offense playing in a dome. Hit a few 50+ yarders in the preseason.

D/ST:
Lions - $4600 - NYG offense looked just as terrible this preseason as they did last year.

Sidenote: No I'm not a Lions fan .

Marqise Lee is at $4,800. Feel like the Jags are going to want to get him involved early.

Texans D at $4,700 is a steal and no-brainer IMO.

My only concern with Lee is that he has Chad Henne throwing to him . Could turn out to have a nice week though as I'm sure they'll be airing it out early and often.

Texans D against the Skins though? Weapons galore.

Also forgot to put Ertz in my bargains. Only $4500.

Henne will definitely look at Lee and Shorts plenty. I think I'm gonna plug Lee in due to his price and hope for the best.

And I'm all in for Texans D. Pretty sure they gave up the least amount of deep balls last season, and Clowney/Watt are gonna feast on RG3.

QB: Carson palmer at 6.9k
RB: Gore at 7.2k (cowboys run defense is straight booty cheeks. 95+ yards, 2 TD's)
WR: Golden Tate at 5k, Maclin at 5k, Sanders at 6.4k
TE: Ertz at 4.5k (gotta take that while hes still that cheap. he'll be 6.5k+ by the playoffs)
D: Bucs at 4.9k (Defense is very good and playing a team that may not even play Cam. Even if cam plays its a great play)
K: Freese

bruh screw this site

i played a MLB one last night, drafted a good team in a 5 team group. lost by 3 pts :smh:

why? because i picked 2 players that dont even play. i dont follow baseball much so how was i supposed to know :x

Yeah baseball is probably the hardest out of any sport . Give NFL a try. If you can spot good matchups guys who are heavily underpriced you can make a hell of a team. Sometimes even the obvious team is a winner .

yea i just joined and did a few low buy NFL to get my feet wet

looked back and saw your suggestions, already had Palmer and Jackson on most of my teams. doubt ill even with any this weekend but i might do a little bigger buy in and see what happens

^ Yeah stick with low priced, small 5-20 person leagues to get your feet wet.

I usually do two 10 person leagues and one big tourney, all for $10 each. Sometimes I'll switch it up and do a couple of $5 ones and some big tourneys for $1-$3, but I never go over $35 for a week. I'm cool with breaking even or only being down ~$10-$15 since I know in other weeks I'll cook. Only spending $35 a week makes that a little easier .

That's your own fault  . Don't take it out on the site.

I like Lee too. Shorts is dealing with a hamstring injury so Lee could see even more targets. Plus they should be behind and throwing most of the game.

Some other WRs that I think could be deep sleepers: (Very cheap on draftkings not sure about price on fanduel)
Jerricho Cotchery - As a veteran he could be Cams go to guy early on.
Mohamed Sanu - Marvin Jones is hurt so he comes in as the #2 WR. If AJ Green gets doubled he could have a decent day.
Malcom Floyd - Keenan Allen will likely be shadowed by Patrick Peterson and I figure SD will abandon the run early on.

I figured Id throw out some names that arent being talked about.

Trying to decide between Evans, Cooks or Lee for my last WR spot...
Lee is a no-brainer imo. #1 on his team, the cheapest option of the 3, and his team is most likely to be down and throwing the ball alot.
