How I Met Your Mother Post Series Discussion. Rustled Jimmies to the Maximum

I'm interested to see how they end it because it'll be a bit of a let down if they end it once he meets the mom. I've sat through way too many annoying Ted relationships so I hope we get to see the courtship.

I have no life. Next to Madden, this is all that plays on Netflix off my Xbox. Literally. I've been running episode after episode, season after season for the past few months.

Can't wait for tonight.

So is it confirmed that this will be the last season? I remember reading a little while ago that they had wrote scripts for this season to be the end and some for next season to be the end. I'm hoping that this is the last one. I love the show but it's starting to drag a bit and I'd rather it end before I really start to hate it

agreed, my gripe with the show is that they are at this point(and since zoe popped up) wasting our time and with everyone's stories wrapped it's hard to watch. I mean we are literally waiting for ted to meet the mom...thats all thats left. the first 3-4 seasons were so tightly written and even when ted wasn't the focus it seemed to always be heading in the direction of him meeting his soul mate.

i know for a fact that lilly and marshall's storyline is wrapped, so for 24 episodes i have to watch them in stupid, forced scenes...probably about parenting. Barney and robin get married so they will be done and what sucks is that theyll probably waste half the season on just if they get married or not. and then theres ted....if he gets into another pointless relationship its going to be veeerrrrry stupid. and i can see that happening with all his friends now being married and well it's ted.

comparing this show to friends or even seinfield is irrelevant because himym is not on either of those shows levels to begin with. It's shows like friends.seinfield that have already had plan in motion on where they wanted their shows and characters to go, how i met your mom doesn't have that or it was poorly planned while they put out basically a filler season(zoe) trying to milk the show even more...for longer. Sure friends did that but it was definitely worth the wait...this doesn't feel like it's worth the wait. It's like when he meets the mom its GOTTA be played up to be everything and more. They either have to make it bitter sweet, get a HUGE star, and get that awesome writng i loved in the earlier seasons...they may need all 3 because i'm sure everyone watching the show expects them to create true love in a bottle with that scene...especially after they gave me a filler SEASON, the last show to do that was heroes.

Ahhh damn, I thought they had season 9 on deck too.... Good to know

I agree, HIMYM has room for one more season after season 8 if they want to but if not, the show had a great solid 8 seasons in my opinion. I've read that in an interview, Neil Patrick Harris said that the only way they would come back for another season is if they got a pay raise which sounds like the cast wants to move on after this show. We'll have to see how it plays out because the writers of the show said that the season 8 ending can be continuous to the next season or can end the show. I don't how they are going to be able to pull that off if they do get renewed last minute when they are thinking this is their last. I think they made 2 alternate endings that they can switch and can use to set up the ending of the show.

Barney Stinson is the epitome of swagger.

yup, exactly bro... its just being dragged i really hope this is the last season... and Teds wife better be hot...

I bet they end it in a way where They dont even show the girl!!!!!

like they meet bumping into each other (she has his umbrella) and he goes, kids "and thats how i met your mother..."
and the kids are like "
you made us sit here, when you could have just said you bumped into mom and she had your yellow umbrella...?
and he goes
"oo didnt think of that... sorry,"
