Shoes are only worth as much as the individual wants it to be worth. I passed on a pair of shoes for $200 recently because it felt too steep for that particular shoe, but copped a different pair for $300 no hesitation cuz of the value to me

Someone that has two racks to spare on a single pair of shoes lives a very different life than mine. My problems are not their problems lmao, I have no judgment

I understand the sentiment I traded and built my collection up over time then sold stuff I had for stuff I really wanted. I try not to keep over 25-30 pairs it’s just pointless. Once I get up to that point I usually move the lower appreciated/worn out pairs to buy the higher appreciated // high ticket items. Trade a couple used with a couple new hot items boom you got the shoe you want. Average person doesn’t have 2k to “spare” normally these are sentimental items bought on holidays etc. At least for me that’s how I’ve accumulated most of my grails just to give some transparency.

I remember in like 2014/2015 when the Kanye/Air Jordan 1 OG Hype was insane and 2001/2013 Royals were almost $1k lol

Crazy times.
Nike got these kids today spoiled they get 50 releases a month 😂😂 just gotta push a button to secure a shoe. Wasn’t no StockX wasn’t no eBay verified you best get the shoe or look at pictures on eBay and read reviews to see if you should pull trigger. Back when even if you had the money you had to put in work to secure a pair. Remember driving a hour to enter a raffle lol the game on easy mode right now if you truly just like shoes

Bruh I remember when campouts were a thing and then that terrible NDC Twitter RSVP system 💀

People would pull up strapped to Craigslist sales meetups with cash transactions so you would have to meet up outside police stations in case the deal went south.

Twitter link only was bad times for drops. I was on vacation on the west coast when nike was doing that for lance mountains and they were tweeting links at like 8am EST/5am PST. No way I was losing sleep on vacation for shoes lmao

Those days were better.

I miss it.
Idk I don’t miss the fights during camp outs. Nike Georgetown in DC started bringing police to major releases because it got so bad.

Dudes were peeing in Gatorade bottles and taking a dump in takeout containers during the multi-day Air Yeezy 2 campouts in 2012… Def would rather try my luck on SNKRs on release day than go through that.
