I have both..

Imo the leather areas on the nyc> Frags.

nyc leather reminds me of high quality leather used on designer brand shoes and high end collabs like fiegs.

But...

What do I know?

I also have both and like I mentioned the black leather used on the NYCs is on par with Frags ( would def not say better)

Frags take the cake in overall quality by a mile

It's honestly comparing apples to oranges

NYCs are def nicer than all the other OG NA 1s though (same leather quality as black/whites)

They'll probably drop good stuff at random. Nike town in Boston was closed for a couple months and they had a grand opening after renovations. Tons of people lined up waiting for a restock at the opening and they didn't have anything. After the opening that had random drops or restocks of past shoes.

I like them too, just think they shouldn't command more than $200. And I'm from NY too lol

I don't think many Jordan shoes command more than 200. But I'm biased. Won 'em and could even wear the sizes available Little cuz had a merry Xmas tho, he wore em out that night to the movies.

I like white laces on a white tongue, the black laces just seems a little off with all the white showing through

I like the white laces better as well. At least until they get beat a bit then I can cover some of the beat with the black laces. Once they get broken in the white laces will look funny all crisp and the shoe worn. White only matches new white...

Never owned a pair, but I would put them in the category.

Iam not a fan of banned ones (flame suit on) because of that God awful X, and how HARD they tried with the leather.

I prefer the overall "original" build of a shoe rather than all the special makeup on the banneds.

this may seem incredibly random but...


has anyone ever treated their royals or breds with mink oil?

or any kind of leather cleaning/conditioning agent?

reason i ask is because i have a friend who conditions his breds with mink oil that he would normally use for his redwing boots

and the leather has become INCREDIBLY soft like banned quality

only side effect is from using the mink oil the shoes are a littly glossy after a treatment(till they get worn a bit) granted they naturally have a bit of a gloss to them anyway

but was wondering if anyone has done/tried this specifically with royals
