For me it's really simple. I wasn't into shoes when the barons released. I just got back in last year after taking a few years off.

How did the hype for shadows come about anyway? Just ppl trying to complete the banned/royal/shadow color block trifecta?
I bought 4 pairs of shadows on release day from a local footaction cuz ppl that won the raffles didnt pick them up. Picked up my pair like at 5:50pm and waited for the 6pm raffle deadline to scoop up the remaining size 10, 10.5, and 2 11. Ppl just got stuck on them Toro 4s. Even the employees didnt want the shadows. Few months after I had the employee that sold me them ask if I still had all the pairs I bought cuz he was in the market for a pair lol. Still got all 4 pairs...

Well yeah, also a lot of people were salty on the breds, so they try to find shadows as a consolation prize.

i dont get these prices either, im still stuck in the mid 2000s and think breds and royals should only be worth 300 tops

I think Soft Greys, given their wide availability at the time, became a very attainable and reasonable cost alternative for those that struck out on Blk/Royal and finally in December 2013 on Blk/Rds. Thus, supply went down, they quickly grew on people and prices started to rise.

Personally, I wouldn't trade DS shoes for used shoes. Now if it were DS for DS, I would do the trade in a heartbeat

I picked up VNDS 2013 Shadows for $310 recently (a decent deal sadly in today's market). I think you can get more than that for DS white LMs so I would probably pass unless the other guy added a bit of cash.

I think its simple. Shadows are such a clean cw to wear. You can never go wrong with Shadows. If I've worn the trifecta 100 times combined, at least 70 of those were shadows.
Its the GOAT for me when it comes to 1's. Breds have more significance to me, but Shadows are just too beautiful. You can dress it up or down, it don't even matter. It just belongs with anything you wear.

yea, i dont think it hits you until they're in hand how loud a bred or royal is compared to other c/w. shadows are just clean as hell

We'll be holding a raffle at 9.30am this Saturday 16th May.
Here's the details
Raffle by size
1 entry per person, passport or drivers license number required on entry and corresponding photo ID on pickup if successful
Can only enter the size that you wear. If your foot is not the size of the pair you win, the pair will be redrawn
Entries open Thursday the 14th at 10:30
Entries close 4pm Friday the 15th

I know the difference in resell value is substantial between the two, but I could never trade away a DS pair for a worn pair. I'd make an exception for Frag's tho.
