I dunno not sure if I would go this far.  As far as leather quality, I still think Banneds are > anything else.  Closest thing to Banneds are maybe 2009 Shadows.

I'd say Vegas 1's > any of the 2013 OG releases.  2015 remastered 1's have got to be better than Vegas 1.  I've struck out on Frags/Chicagos so I can't compare.

Someone posted in the Chiraq thread that the Chis are just as good quality wise with the leather, its just not pebbled like the Banneds

^Chicagos have a little bit of a tumbled look on the leather, especially the top straps with the wings logo.

The quality debate is an endless one and will always vary from pair to pair, color to color and year to year and should always be taken with a grain of salt.

I got lucky at my local HOH store. Entered just one raffle and it was the only place in the mall to receive pairs.

interesting. Reason I ask is we're kind of debating about authenticity in the Chicago thread and how the tip of the thread that goes through the swoosh and how it touches the swoosh. Supposedly the tip is not suppose to touch, but I've seen some retailer pairs do.

ds highlight reels just arrived, which i bought (for the low) for the sole purpose (no pun) of doing the black toe tongue swap. after trying them on, i think they're actually pretty dope on foot so now i'm contemplating just keeping them for beaters and copping a pair of used reels for the swap.

How's the quality and going rate of the rttg? White\black color way

I haven't had them in hand myself but I've heard numerous times they are comparable to the banneds. They look A1

Both RTTG colorways have GREAT leather quality.  Mad I passed on the Vegas (White/Black), but I have the DC (Midnight Navy/Multicolor) because I liked how different the DC version looked -> ***insert "buy what you like!" quote here***

Leather on the Vegas are probably more comparable to the '15 Chicagos (which I do have).  The midnight navy leather panels on the DC is comparable to the Jeter's IMO, but they're still softer than the Jeter's.

The quality on the DC's is INCREDIBLE... Sad that these pretty much sat because they werent given the NA treatment (I ironically live in DC and these went on discount everywhere).

I thought about this but to be honest, it would look doper if you did it on a pair of Laney 1s even though it might be more work since you'd have to do a tongue swap and paint the toebox/toe area
