So I got the away SBB's in today, here are some pics and thoughts on some of the materials. The orange leather is pretty stiff like black side panels on the 2016 banned's. The cream toebox leather is soft, somewhat in between the og SBB and the banned's toebox. I also like that it doesn't have the same glossy coating as the banned's. Tongue has less padding than the og. The og SBB definitely blow these out the water, but still nice, nonetheless.

The padding caught my attention on the Banned '16s.  They were the only 1s I purchased this year.  The padding was great on the 1s I grabbed last year (SBB 1.0s, Chicago, and UNCs).

Did all the 2016 1s have less padding than the 2015s??

My original point was that I'd pay $300+ for Chis, Breds, Royals, Shadows, and a few other other classic CWs for the original shape and leather that resembles something that would be used on a nice dress shoe.

Especially in place of pinnacles.

Even if Banneds came tomorrow for $290 without all the Xs you guys wouldn't cop (pretend the 16 B/reds hadn't just came out)?

I feel you there bro, ain't no way i'll buy pinnacles if I can get Chis, Breds or Blacktoes for the same amount.

I think so, since sbb and cm 1s had thick padding. It's still way better than the '13 tongues though.
