Where did all this new found love for the Shadows come from? From what I remember, when they dropped, people wasn't really feelin em. Now they're a must have?

where have you been for the last year? 

in all seriousness, demand for shadows peaked after so many missed out on the black/red 1 so it was a consolation so to speak and dudes wanted to complete the trio of royals, black/reds with shadows. 

oh and the quality of shadows was A1

I'll never understand it either. Grey is one of my favorite colors, but the shadows are just meh to me.  I'd rather cop the Clovers tbh. Like Shadows are a good cop at retail, but nothing else about them makes them amazing for me....not even in a Jordan 1 silhouette.  I think it had something to do with breds and royals being virtually impossible for the average person to cop initially. I feel the same way about the black and whites. Nice colorway, but nothing amazing about them.  The quality argument is a mute point for me. I don't buy Jordans for "quality". Standard quality is good enough for me.

Side note:

Does Europe get BHM edition Nikes since it's a US thing?

I don't understand how something could look off about a pure grey/black sneaker in a the Jordan 1 silhouette...? All seriousness though

What's so amazing about the black/reds and royals that shadows and black/whites don't portray?

I'm just curious

Don't understand how someone with vision could choose to purchase clovers over shadows. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but my god haha

I never said "it looks off". I just don't see it warranting an above retail price tag. I said there's nothing amazing about it.  

What's amazing about blk/reds?
  • fav color is red
  • it's iconic
  • jordan played in them
  • it goes with 90% of my closet
  • it's pretty
Royals?
  • personal history and marks the beginning of when my sister and I were first able to obtain a pair of j's
  • unique combo on a jordan 1
  • it's iconic
Clovers are $85-$100 DS in my size (NOT $200+), hubby is from boston, his fav color is green, I love the color gold, I love gold jewelry, not many green/gold combos look as nice as these do...rare to find that on a Jordan 1, and I love the lasering.....I can't say ANY of that about the shadows. Matte grey just isn't my thing.

Shadows have grey and black and I've said this many times before...GREY has been done better on J's and other shoes. Examples for ME:
  • Pee Wee Herman Dunks (AMAZING)
  • Cool Grey IV's
  • Cool Grey IX's
  • New Balance 996
  • New Balance 574
  • Cool Grey Jordan XI
  • Yeezy II Platinum
These are just off the top of my head. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but with red, hot pink, and grey being my fav colors I can honestly say the shadows have never impressed me....not even with the limited title.

Every single one of your history statements can be used for shadows

But I see, I didn't realize you were a female. My girl also has tons of red in the closet ( I can see why black/reds would be a favorite)

Shadows are actually my favorite of the 3. You can literally throw them on with pretty much any fit and they're kinda low key compared to black/reds and royals

Kinda hurts when someone puts them down like that :lol:
