2013 blk/reds or banneds?

 

 

Debating to get rid of my 2013s and replace them with banneds (if I can find them at a decent price lol). Curious to hear your opinions. Never owned banneds, couldn't really tell too much of the quality since they were wrapped, but from pictures they seem to be on another level. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

They are definitely on another level in terms of quality. They are also a bit more rare.

Some purist would still say not to trade 2013s though. 2013 is closer to OG shape etc without all the "banned" details

I'd say get the Banneds and keep the 2013 Breds. So you can keep the banneds on ice and only rock it a select few times, while still having the option to rock Bred's (2013) on other days. I think the Banneds and 01 Breds have the same shape (no?), height looks about the same and the toe box has more of a OG look to it. Of course Banned leather is out of this world compared to any AJ1.

That's the reason I stayed away from those as I found them uncomfortable. Like not wearable uncomfortable. Everybody's foot is different but since 2012 I think the 1 toebox went through major improvements..

If that's the case, I'd scoop 2 pairs of 2013s for the price of 1 pair of Banneds. Banneds were honestly pointless to me. I had 3 pairs and the all day in my closet while I rocked my 2013s. I'm sure the same goes for a lot of people who own them. Haven't seen anyone with banned beaters yet. Def a great shoe to add to the collection but my boy exo is trying to wear this pair. Being that he only has 1 pair of breds, no way I'd let go for Banneds.

Alright, I have '01s, Banneds, and '13s plus the KOs and lows in the B/Red colorway and without a doubt the banned is my favorite


Here's some comparison pics between the '13s and banneds. Notice they have the same height but the banneds are much more padded and the tongue on the banneds is incredible

What's a reasonable price for a broken in(worn) pair of Breds, looking to go after another pair , but it's so hard for me to wear DS/NDS kicks, would I ever be able to find a legit pair for around 300 or even less?

i love the X though, best way to distinguish regular breds and Banneds. Though unless you're wearing it to a sneaker event, average joes will think you have regular breds or custom breds or even fake breds.

bballmarkie, repped for the pics. Didn't know they were the same height. Think I might hold off on getting 01 breds, and look for Banneds. In the meantime I still have my 2013 breds to wear and backup DMP's, though I will let DMP go once I get banneds.

banneds have about the same toebox as 2013's.. IMO.

i've seen pics of them more sloped also, but my pair is comparable to my 2013's.  maybe they slope more with more wears?  who knows.

Nah even worn theyre not sloped. JB hasnt hasnt sloped toe boxes since '03.
