More training camp invite fodder:

Lakers sign 7-1 center Ronnie Aguilar

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Lakers signed center Ronnie Aguilar, the team announced Thursday.

Aguilar, a 7-foot-1, 250-pound center, played two seasons at Colorado State University before transferring to California State Dominguez Hills. Aguilar also is a graduate of Marshall High in Los Angeles.

Most recently, Aguilar, 25, played in six games for the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League during the 2011-12 season, averaging 2.2 points and 4.2 rebounds in 11.5 minutes.

Aguilar will give the Lakers 19 players heading into the start of training camp next week. Aguilar, along with Reeves Nelson and Greg Somogyi, are expected to be long shots to make the team.

I want Barbosa damnit!

I hope we are a big player come trade deadline for a SF... *Prays a dozen teams need a PG*

Would love to see DJO & Morris shine.. But still not faithfully they can do it on the stage..

Scrimmage highlights from today:

DJO knows camera is rolling so he's treating scrimmages like a And1 mix tape

DFish lurking again at practice and going the BShaw & Ron Harper route of playing 1 last half season for his last ring then go into starting out as assistant coach when he's retired.I'd have no problem bringing him back in March. He'll be rested and ready for the playoffs.

I never want to see Derek Fisher play 1 more minute in a Lakers jersey....

Also saw in the scrimmage video and I'm wondering why the hell Matt Barnes is practicing with the Lakers when he just signed with the Clips.

Next thing you know where are going to see a Lamar Odom sighting at the Lakers scrimmages

Why are you so keen on getting barbosa? His services aren't gonna make or break this team one way or the other

I don't want Blake or Duhon playing.. And unless we get Barbosa.. That's who will play.

Also gives us a lot more expendable players for trade deadline..

And also allows us a better rotation that could put Nash out with the second unit for a good period of time

Quit being salty and treating dude like Smush Parker.
Respect dude for his clutch shots and what he brought to the looker room.

Not salty.. I can respect his clutch shots, and his leadership.. And at the same time say on 9/27/2012 he's terrible, and he isn't needed anymore..

Also Blake & Duhon both have 2 years left at around $4 million for each season.

Their contracts won't be attractive to any other team until next summer or closer to the 2013-2014 season trading deadline when they are expiring contracts and teams want some cap relief and other teams are going to try to get the Lakers to take their bad contracts.Lakers by then will be looking to trade both guys for 2nd round draft picks or a trade exceptions. No team will give them even a late 1st round pick for Blake or Duhon

Never underestimate the power of necessity...

No one is trading them for their "attractive contract".

Time and again teams make bad trades because they Need someone.. Has happened before.. And will happen again.
