My brother broke it by dropping it. I think an e68 error comes up, but that maybe incorrect. Is it possible to fix it or retrieve the stuff that's on it?

Hard drive not DMA configured: It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it. Also this can be caused by a problem with the fans that make them draw too much power, it can also be caused if you have unnecessary accessories attached to the console like an external fan unit. Attempt to remove unnecessary accessories first, and then necessary components such as the hard drive and USB devices. try cleaning the HD connector port

if it all fails. The fat you can open the HD casing a remove the drive and replace it, but you cant play og xbox games. To play og Xbox games you will have to do some thing to the HD. For the slim some people sell 3rd party slim Hard drive enclosures that work for 30 on amazon. The one i use now
. it comes with a 2.5 SATA drive inside and the enclosure is easy to open. I opened my old fat 360 HD and placed it in the slim enclosure.

My brother bought another hd for it and the 360 works just fine. Rarely anything is plugged in the 360 besides the controller charging cable.

I'm planning on getting the slim. I was also planning on getting that same hd that you posted but the 320 gb version.

Amazon product ASIN B007JM8ULS
Have you had any problems with it? Also what are the differences between the hd you ordered and the official microsoft hd?

Lastly, thanks for the insight.

so far no problems. The only difference between a Microsoft HD and this one is you cant play Xbox one games with it. The official Microsoft HD comes partitioned, so you can play physical or downloaded original Xbox games. If you really need to play Og Xbox games you can partition the non-OEM HD so you can.

How do partiion the non-oem hd?

I just took apart the HD and is there a way I can check if the sata drive is broken?

Which type of HD would I need to replace the sata drive?
