Bulls offseason Thread

surprised this thread aint jumpin. I was waiting to see that tomahawk last season so i could say he was actually healthy..... also video of his jumper his form looks amazing and he fixed the footwork part we saw last year

There isn't really much to talk about. He had a nice dunk and a nice and 1. Obviously that's great.

Looking forward to Friday's scrimmage

I just wanna be decent in April I can care less if he treads slow now until the post season.. He needs to get back in rhythm and get his body back used to the game abviously, but even on that and 1 I felt my stomach turn..just want him to gradually get the feel back, no need to impress ppl at all its about staying healthy not being healthy

just a tid bit too early to say hes back. tell you what he looking good out there and this World Cup should most def help him get some type of rythmn heading into the season. im honestly not worried at all about his knees this go round.

The dunk was nice, but I'm not going to get too excited yet. I just want him to be healthy all season and beyond.

It will be nice to see him at the UC next month...if he doesn't make the final roster, there's no way they cut him before that game

As long as he doesn't pay himself too hard, he'll be good. If the other guards step up, he won't have to overexert himself too. We'll be good this season

Derrick Rose told Carmelo Anthony that if he came to Chicago “the game would be easy”

LAS VEGAS — Derrick Rose  is not the guy who is going to call up a free agent every day and recruit him. He has the back of the guys in his locker room — he wants someone to choose to join them, to choose to come into that locker room, not to have to be dragged.

But that doesn’t mean Rose didn’t want Carmelo Anthony  to come to Chicago.

In Las Vegas with Team USA, Rose talked about his message to Anthony when the two spoke.

“That if he was to come, that the game would be easy,’’ Rose said. “I don’t know how easy but of course it would be easy. And that we wanted him. Just plain and simple, we wanted him to come. He decided to go somewhere else. But it’s no hard feelings. I can’t get mad at the decision he made. He’s a grown man.’’

Rose said he was disappointed that Anthony chose to stay in New York, but he also understood — this isn’t just about what happens on the court.

“If you put yourself in that decision, that’s a hard decision,” Rose said. “You got your family to think about. You got money to think about. Not to say you should think about money. But when you’re talking about millions and millions of dollars, you can’t just put that behind you. So I’m not mad with the decision that he made and I wish him nothing but the best.’’

Chicago did okay for itself this summer, adding Pau Gasol  to the front line. If Rose is back to himself — and he looked good, with a more mature game, at least at the first day of Team USA training camp — then the Bulls can compete with anyone in the East. They have their identity and know how to play their system, there is no big learning curve.

But Carmelo Anthony would have brought another dimension to that system on offense.

Jim Boeheim says Derrick Rose has been the most impressive and biggest surprise for Team USA so far. Also from all reports rose has been on another level defensively locking down all the guards in front of him. Can we say he completely back no, but the approach of actually scrimmaging during recovery was a much better route. Helps with the timing and rust rather than just drills and the weight room.

Definitely got bigger. I would've liked for him to stay as lean as possible for the purposes of taking pressure of his knees
